The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

No more instant messaging for me.

As of tonight, I will no longer be actively using instant messaging as it has become very distracting (and addicting) and I'm not getting done what I need to when I want to, if that makes much sense to you guys. I will always answer emails so you can pop one off to me and expect a reply within a day.  It's the daily instant messaging that has just taken over my life...and its time I took it back.  :yes  :yes

LOL I've been there!  I'll still be on MSN, but I do have a lot of work to catch up on, so I may be less talkative, both on MSN and on the GoF in the near future.

Just to clarify, I won't stop coming here or going to boards.  The IM is what keeps me online longer than I want to be.

Kind of funny as years ago it was you who brought me to MSN as you prefered it from email writing.

I fail to see what's funny.  A lot changes in five years Malte, and I didn't start even using IM until about two years ago....that's not very long ago in the scheme of things, and at this point in my life 2 + hours of IM a day is not going to work well.  This is the best solution I could come up with to help snap an internet addiction that came about during the early part of this summer (largely thanks to no job for a while).

Hmm..I could be wrong, but I wonder if Malte meant funny as in strange, not funny as in humorous.

At the moment I haven't even been on a instant messenger that much I have no time to even start up e-messenger before the 15 minute limit is up if there people waiting to use it. And i just check emails at the moment since I profer to do other things at the moment plus when I am in the UK when I get back it would be on but I wouldn't speak to many people on it. Jason is the one I mostly speak to online on msn messenger.
