Slowly a frown overtook the smile that had been on Harper's face. "Oh..." she glanced down, coming to terms with the words that didn't really seem to register. Her frown was all that showed the news hitting. Like how when she was really frustrated with Petrie back during the Day of the Flyers, she'd still stayed quiet and not yelled at him so much as just thought all her thoughts to herself, she did the same here, not even crying, yet anyway, just...pondering. Just coming to terms.
Then her thoughtful nature extended to her brother and she put a hand on Petrie's shoulder.
Petrie's reaction was different. He too stared for the longest time, not able to make the words make sense. He just stared at Artie in shock. Then he felt the hand on his shoulder and glanced over to his sister. Both the touch and her own frown seemed to put it all in place for the little flyer.
"N-no, you lying!" he turned back to accuse of Artie.
Harper closed her eyes, "Petrie..." she began to try.
"No!" Petrie swat his sister's hand away and stepped back, as if shrugging off the comfort would somehow shrug off what was happening too. "You...you both wrong, Uncle Pterano gonna be fine, he...he not...".
All the emotions hitting at once choked any other words from Petrie's beak and as tears finally began to fall, he turned and, without a word, began to fly off.
"Petrie, come back" Harper flew after.
"No, leave me alone!" at the snap in her brother's voice, Harper paused mid air as Petrie continued on into a nearby tree. She understood though, only able to guess at what was going through him. Slowly she drifted back down to the ground, staring up at the branches where Petrie was in pity and sadness.
