"I refused the procedure. My parents didn't want me to be messed with when my mom gave birth to me. They wanted to take me in to get treated for it, but I refused. After seeing the way everybody at school acted. I didn't want to be one of those, how should I put it. Chimpanzees. The most brilliant minds have come from this natural alteration, and our society treats it as if it's a bad thing when it's not. Where would we be without Einstein, or Thomas Edison, or even Mozart? This condition, is what has made me into this brilliant scientist. And out society, is trying to keep us from being who we were made to be. As if we need to fit this stereotypical, cookie cutter standard of society whether we like it or not. I have a life, and I chose to go down this path." says Tanner as he walks past Stegs and down the long, wide empty hallway. When he is far away from anybody, he lets out a sigh, leans against the wall. He sits down on the floor with his back still against the wall and stares off into space, "Why don't they understand me?" he whispers to himself.
