The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

The Cartoon Hero has really grown on me.  Dare I say it, I've become a fan of his.  I don't know what it is about his reviews that I love, but I just love them, bottom line.

Anyways, I've put this up to show off what you guys are in for with me commenting on this movie and why it's been difficult for me to get it ready.

Except for a few things I would add, my views are pretty much the same.

I'm not sure what I felt about the movie. But as for the TV series, I did like it. I thought it was really cute. It didn't feel like a typical "girls' show". I prefer the older episodes though.

The only thing that always irked me about the Powerpuff Girls was how the villains just stood around like idiots and let the Powerpuff Girls whoop their asses(Trivia: Their original name was going to be The WhoopAss Girls). I mean, were the animators just lazy? I don't get it.

I did like the show when I was younger though.

They made a PPG movie?
Obviously it didn't do well enough to be shown here.

The TV series was pretty bad too.  In my opinion, it was during that time that the majority of the cartoon shows lost what they once had: a proper storyline, likeable characters that were relatable etc.

Animeboye has a good point, the villans really never do anything to stop the girls from beating them up.. which is the sign of weak villans..

I honestly don't see what's so bad about Powerpuff Girls. It's just one of those shows not meant to be taken seriously, like Spongebob or Fairly Oddparents. Nothing wrong with that.

My fav PPG character was Mojo Jojo. He was just hilarious. I love the way he talks, the way he acts, etc.

One thing I do like about the show other than characters is how uniquely they seem to portray superheroes and villains. The fact that they don't always fight each other (even going as far as trust Mojo Jojo to be their babysitter or go into his lair to get their ball back despite being mortal enemies) helps make the show more unique and stand out more.

I guess it's a show you can like or dislike. Personally I liked the show and I disagree with the statement that it's "bad".

And the whole "villains don't do anything while the girls beat them up" is inaccurate, in my opinion. It's not that the villains purposely don't try; it's that they can't. One must realize that these girls possess both superspeed and superstrength. The villains don't have superspeed (and in many cases, superstrength as well). The villains don't stand a chance. They wouldn't have any time to attack the girls back. They could take a swing and the girls would be gone and punching them from another side in a matter of seconds.

When the girls were pitted against their male counterparts, the Rowdyruff Boys, they did not get pummeled as easily as the other villains. Because they had superstrength and superspeed just like the girls, they had a better chance at countering them. The only reason they were destroyed in their first creation was a flaw in their design (the whole kissing them causing them to explode).

And it's not like the villains never gain the upperhand at some point. For example, there's an episode where Mojo Jojo tricks the girls into thinking he just wants to be part of a slumber party. When the girls and their friends go to sleep, Mojo Jojo grabs the antidote for Chemical X and pours it on them, causing them to lose their powers. That was pretty clever of him, I think.

The movie barely made it's budget of $11 million at the US box office alone.  It only made about half that in international screenings.

In my eyes, it's very underrated by the public.

Also, I agree with DH.  The show is good, you just shouldn't take it seriously in order to see that.

I enjoyed the tv series.  Not sure what I think about the movie.  I recall there being certain plot holes and such that ruined the movie for me.  I'd have to rewatch it to see what I think about it.
