The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Looks like it could be interesting.  The clip reminds me of one of the few g1 episodes I've seen.

So has anyone seen today's episode? What did you all think of it?

I thought it was pretty good. It was great seeing Spike get another episode. However I was really disappointed that we didn't learn how Spike's egg came into the possession of Princess Celestia. I had been looking forward all week to this episode, hoping that it would reveal a bit more about our favorite purple dragon. In the end, it didn't really feel like this episode accomplished anything. What did Spike even really learn? That Twilight and the others are his family? I thought he always saw them as family.

Still, despite my complaints, I did enjoy the episode. I just hope that in one episode, we do finally learn where Spike came from.

Well, it's a common plight of adopted children, and I got the impression the episode is aimed at at them. They do think of their family as...family. Spike's always probably wondered what it would be like to be with his own kind in the back in his mind like adopted children always have the question of what it would have been like with their birth parents. I think this was more about giving Spike closure on that issue than anything else.

Okay, there's a lot I want to talk about with this episode, especially some screenshots I can't stop myself from wanting to share.  However, I just finished the episode and am now busy downloading it.

Just know, for those who have yet to see it, when I finally do talk about it...

SPOILER ALERT!!

Oh, and speaking of spoilers, a commercial from The HUB gave info of next week's episode.

Definitely will be awesome and glad I'm using my vacation hours that day because I have some plans for it.

Well, see ya later!

That looks like it could be an interesting episode.  As for Spike I wonder why no one in the show thought to just ask Princess Celestia about Spike's egg & what the message she sent fully said.

Rule #1 of EVERY show: No one does something that will COMPLETELY ruin the plot from happening.  Even if it is a simple alternative.

Anyways, on to my SPOILERIFIC version of my thoughts on the episode.  For your convenience, I have put in links to the pictures I will be using.

First off, writers and animators, do not show me this many dragons if you are trying to pass them off as rare.  It will NOT convince me in the end.

Anyways, first surprise of the episode is that Fluttershy keeps her assertiveness from an earlier episode.  I mean, she beats up Rainbow Dash just to show she means "NO!" for crying out loud!

Next up, when it comes to couples, I just LIVE for the following moment.

Seriously, Spike blushing in embarrassment for Rarity calling him cute?  How can I not go crazy for that?

Apparently, Twilight has mastered Photo-Reading.

I was watching this with my boyfriend, and said "this is the story of every adopted minority child in a non-minority family". That's sort of how it read to me, as, say, an Asian child being adopted and raised by an European-American family, or something like that, and wondering what other Asian families are like.

I wonder if something similar happened to Spike's egg, someone stole it.

Neat that Spike has a small friend or pet.  I wonder if phoenixes are sentient in the mlp universe.

Yep, indeed, yep!
"Family's right here, even if they're not blood." *sniff* Always a heart-spring pulling message. The whole episode also reminded me of the Rob Thomas song, "Little Wonders".
