Gron continued to where the shuttle had crashed to see if he could help. Once he got near he paused to see what the situation was and what he could do to help.

"Hmm, seems a little distraction may be what is needed to break their focus." Jason said as he reached into some pockets. He took out his motherbox, setting it on top of his head. He places his Korodos staff next to him. Then he took out 2 more items, each one he put on a wrist. Then he bent stuck his motherbox to the top of the staff and he grasp the staff, one hand at his upper chest level and the other at the abdominal level, the back of his hands facing outward. The wrist devices he put on his wrist had 3 inch discs set off about an inch from the part of the bracelet. As he closed his eyes the discs started to spin with a slight mechanical sound, sparks starting to appear and swirling around him, the wind picking up and he started to speak in an inhuman language. The staff started to glow with lightning starting to play around him and the wind picking up more. A ball of what looked like fire starting to form around the staff and his hands. When he was done with his speaking he opened his eyes and aimed the staff at a place in the distance and a magic enhanced dragon slayer spell shot out, striking an area in the distance with a huge explosion of fire, atomic fire, and explosive energy.

"ooh." Guilmon said, as he stepped back a bit, keeping watch over Jason as he did whawt he did. Blinking a few times as the spell shot off, from the brightness of it, a hand shielding his eyes before he put on a pair of sun glasses.

"That should distract them for a second or 2, to give the others more of a chance to co-ordinate." Jason said leaning on the staff, a bit tired from the spell. He put away the wrist devices he had on and took out a bottle of cold essential water. He opened it and started to drink a bit. "Always leaves me a bit parched." He said.

Dr. Kerzach retreated into the shuttle and used the twin30 mm rear autocannons to provide additional support.

"Nick! Mind giving us some support!?" Deimos shouted as he made sure to snipe the Rocket Macaques.

Dr. Zanasiu gasped as an arrow lodged in his armored space suit. It managed to pierce the layers but it didn't strike him. But it compromised the environmental seal. Thinking quickly, he retreated behind a portable shield that Mr. Bigmouth had deployed so he could repair his suit. Zachary gave him covering fire.

The Spire of Winter landed in a swampy area. Luckily, the ship's hull was watertight and its repulsorlifts could be used to keep the ship out of the water.

Captain Carson unbuckled her restraints and made her way to the console. She shook her head as she saw how badly the battle was going. "I'm authorizing additional troops and vehicles to be dispatched."

Nick opened fire on the macaques spraying them with bullet fire..' how many of thee guys are there' he grunted as he received return fire..
stitch picked up debris and threw it at their attackers. the battle was not going well at all..

Tigeress and tiger rusghed out of the Spire of Winter as soon as a hatch was opened..
Both Spyros and Cynders flew after them, providing cover for them , Spyro-W sent forth a flurry of fire, Spyro-S shot out electricity. Cynder-S used lightning, and Cynder-W used shadow
- ratchet had pulled out his tethernet and was firing it at the macques this weapons encased the enemy in a net of electricity providing a shock to the system.

Brooklyn flew around. He mainly looked for officer types to attack with his special sword that damaged physical matter, flesh, as well as the soul. He would attack others if he could not see any officer types, any that seemed to be a leader type being a preffered one to attack then a random fighter.

Velma looked for groups of enemies to fire her explosive crystal arrows into to damage as many as possible. Crystal shards exploding and moving at speeds above the speed of sound having the expected effects.

Gron got close to where the shuttle had crashed. Seeing what the enemy soldiers were up to he started at the back where they were. His symbiote extended tentacles, hardening the tips and using them as spears to puncture their suits & protective wear, some picking up the weapons and using them so they would be subject to the gas themselves. His symbiote filtering out the poisons so he was not effected by the gas. it having full 360 degree sensing & seeing making it easier to fight.

The viewscreens inside the starship showed the battle, which was going poorly. Another viewscreen showed a platoon of hovertanks, armed dune buggies and APCs carrying additional troops backed up by a wing of fighters and armed drones heading towards the battle site.

Captain Carson shook her head. "It'll take several hours for the ground forces to get there but the aerial support should arrive within a few hours."

She then turned to Nani and Shaggy, who were monitoring the radio traffic. "Any requests for ammunition or other supplies come in?"

Mr. Bigmouth had let the HMG operate on autonomous mode. He dropped a frag shell into the mortar and aimed it at the largest concentration of troops.

"How long can he hold them off?" Zachary asked as he changed magazines.

"Not for much longer!" Ms. Swimmer shouted. She fired a line of lightning that incinerated a group of archers. She ducked behind the portable barrier, which was now riddled with arrows.

"Nick!" Dr. Kerzach shouted as he poked his head out from the downed shuttle's hatch. "How are you holding up?"

Sara concentrated and threw a fireball at a group of enemies farther from her before they got to close. At some nearby enemies she breathed fire at that she, Dulcy and Samia were battling. Widening it to cover a large area. She looked around to see where her spells or fire breath could do the most good.

Requests have been streaming in " Nani said ' a lot of them' she said.
- the expl;osion was noticed by Clockwerk ' so our enemies are powerful mages' he m,uttered ' and went over to a control panel and started pressing buttons
this released large numbers of macques and mice..

Spike crawled from where he was. "What happened, did we crash or something?" he asked as he looked around.

Gron saw more troops coming. He moved to take into account, as best as he could the new addition of any troops to the area. Though he did similar to what he did before. He did his best to remain hidden more, attacking suddenly when he saw a good chance to take out a few or a team then go back to hiding and moving around.

Gnash moved from place to place, using a special pistol to shoot marbel sized spheres that would explode when enemy troops got to the area. Some would do a regular explosion. Some would explode and spray a potent acid on the area, or freeze the area. Some had other effects as well.

Jason saw the battles were still continuing and looked like more troops may be coming to reinforce the present troops on the battlefield.

He handed his motherbox to Guilmon. "Here, hold her a moment." He said.

He switched to his dragon body, and started to cast another spell a variant of a fire storm spell. He added his dragon fire to the spell instead of the spell supplying the regular fire itself and some atomic fire as well to add some additional damage. He centered the spell on hiself. He enlarged his size to his normal size. He grasp Guilmon so he could put him on his back then took to the air. Focusing on the spell, keeping it centered on himself as he flew towards some enemy troops where no friendly troops were.

Sara continued focusing on taking out enemeies that were around the 3 of them using spells & her dragon fire on closer ones.

"Crash," Twilight said as she emerged from the science bay and trotted down the streets of Winterville.

"Ah dunno what's goin' on but from what ah'm hearin', it sounds like the crew went and got themselves in a right pickle," Applejack added as she walked alongside the duo.

"Where the f--- are the reinforcements!?" Deimos shouted as he changed magazines. He was currently down to his last magazine.

Mr. Bigmouth was now out of mortar rounds so he resorted to throwing grenades. Luckily, his enchanted messenger bag held a rather large (but not infinite) supply of them.

"Spire of Winter, this is Rainbow. Myself and the other planes are out of ammunition and low on fuel. We are returning to refuel and rearm. Rainbow out."

The four living planes flew towards the swamps where the starship's radio signals were coming from.

we need to fall back' Kovu said with a growl, try as they might, there were simply too many of the enemy here.. while the magic protected them from the gas, it did not help them where numbers were concerned..
- we cant just fall back.. we have no idea where we are! SCooby replied to Kovu. ' but we cant hold out much longer.. theres too many of them, and magic can only go so far in evening the odds "Kopa said.

Mr. Bigmouth grabbed his tricorder. "I've got a lock on the starship's position! We'll regroup over there!"

Dr. Zanasiu swapped magazines on his rifle as shrapnel from a rocket pinged off his armored spacesuit. "How are we going to get there!?"

Dr. Kerzach poked his head out of the shuttle. "I may be able to force the shuttle airborne with its one good engine. It'll be unsafe as hell butó"

"Good enough!" Deimos shouted

Dr. Kerzach retreated back into the shuttle to begin work. "Gve me abut thirty minutes!"

"Thirty minutes!?" Deimos shot a Rocket Macaque.

What about the magic from our rings? Agumon said ' its risky but the magic should be strong eboiugh to get the other engine up and running long enbough to get us back to the ship.. but the problem is.. well' what? agumina said "it would take several of them channeling the magic into it..' whatever works, just try it !' nick said as the lions came running back towards the shuttle.
Dulcy and Samia helped Sara as best they could..

(Battlefield)

"Worth a try!" Dr. Kerzach shouted as he bypassed a blown out fuse with an empty cartridge case from Deimos's rifle.

"Spire of Winter, this is Doctor Zanasiu. We are retreating to your position. Our enemies will follow. Be advised, set up a defensive perimeter! Zanasiu out!"

Mr. Bigmouth threw some incendiary grenades at the Macaques and Cranes. Unfortunately for them, their uniforms, fur and feather were highly flammable. Screams were heard as the enemy troops were set alight.

Twilight shook her head. "I don't think so. We haven't been ordered to doó"

"Twilight! Spike! Get your asses over here!" Captain Carson barked as soon as she recieved the transmission. "Help us set up a defensive perimeter! Get to it!"

Kopa and Kovu climbed in into the shuittle , within a few minutes everyone was inside, nick managed to get the door closed to seal off any attempt a gas attack froom the enemy.

So heres the deal ' agumina explained to the others. ' one of the enmgines works normally, the other one is currently out. we will poewer that engine using our rings. now this is something we have not done before, and it will test the magic of the rings like nothing we have tried.we will need about 5 using thier rings at the same time, and that will take you out of the fighting, we will need you to keeop the enginev running long enough to get us back to the Spire. that could be several hours, but to save energy we will rotate in groups of 5 every 30 minutes.. '
suddenly there was a tap the door ' Guys1 Its us' Tigeress voice came through the door' Nick opened the door long enough to let Tiger Tigeress and Flash in.' well good thing you fiound us..' nick Said As Flash got off of Tigeress and took a seat.' Good thing the riongs are connected.. we were starting to get lost' Tiger sauid, panting.

Mr. Bigmouth threw several smoke grenades to cover their escape. He hastily ushered everyone aboard.

Dr. Kerzach shut the door as the shuttle lifted off. "I managed to bypass the safety interlocks. But the engines will run exceptionally hot."

"Leave that to me!" Mr. Bigmouth threw a vial of frost potion at the exposed engine in the rear. The hatches were opened to provide some cooling and to allow the gas from the sublimating dry ice produced by the frost potion to disperse.
