(RICMS Spire of Winter)

Spike was running along, pausing now and then to sniff the air. He paused when he saw a building. "I knew I smelled a cafe. Good thing since I'm so hungry." He said. He ran the rest of the way into the cafe. He doubted they'd have gems for him to order, though he'd prefer that, but they would have other kinds of food. It smelled like they had quite a variety of food, from the smells.

Captain Carson used a laser designator to signal the shuttle to land. Once it did, two armored medics hustled the injured crew into the shuttle and flew off.

The Human sighed. "Well, I'd sayó"

"Captain! The explosion has unearthed something big!"

Captain Carson leapt to her feet and ran over to the source of the shouting. Inside a crater excavated by the blast was a wonderous brass flying machine. It was very beat up but that didn't diminish the wonder they felt. Numerous gems and gears dotted the machine's shining fuseluge.

"What is it?" the crewman asked.

"No idea, but let's get it out of there!"

She radioed Stripetail. "Stripetail, this is Captain Carson. I have found a wrecked magical flying machine. Over."

'I'm on my way' stripetail replied and a few secons later the squirrell magicked himself into view. ' quite the find indeed' he said upon looking at the craft. ' a merging of magfic' he motioned to the gems' and machine' here he looked at the cogs ' well ' lets see if it still works '' Curin!' stripetail gestured and the gems began to glow in different colors, reds pinks greens yellows and orange. the wheels began to turn and the machine began to move out of the hole, climbing out the lip of the crater and stopped in front of stripetail, as it did a hatch in the side of the machine opened and dust shot out of the side. ' Good it still works' he said to carson ' better check out the inside of it.

Captain Carson nodded as she looked at the craft. It appeared to be roughly the same size as the shuttles carried aboard RICMS Spire of Winter but unarmed, unarmored and far nicer looking.

Two exoskeleton clad laborers bought it a tracked camera drone.

One of them started the robot up and directed it to enter through the hatch.

"Damn," he said.

Captain Carson looked at the screen. She gasped. It appeared to be a luxury liner of some sort. Exotic wood and shining metal panels adorned the cabin. Lavish furnishings added to the decor.

The robot opened the door to the bridge, revealing a brass and gear studded console with gauges and dials that looked like they had been ripped off a high-end espresso machine.

Captain Carson peeled her eyes from the screen and looked at the luxury liner. "Who the f--- would simply junk a luxury liner like this? I'm not sure if we can use it or should I just have the crew dismantle it for parts."

we're not scrapping it ' Stripetail replied. ' what it needs is cleaning after all this time buried under ground. obviously, this is a link ito a period in skylands history where the region was very prosperous. perhaps when the arkeyans ran things..
master eon appeared and stared at the shuttle ' my word! an arkeyan show cruiser! i had thought they were all scrapped after the second Arkeyan war, but it appears i was wrong.. they were comparable to luxury cruises, with high end technology meshed with powerful magics. not only were they programmed to run on time for centuries but they were a marvel to look at. Where did you find this?" he asked, turning to carson

It belonged to Kuzon, the son of Kovu and Kiara. He had Kovu's fur colors and his mother's eyes.

i dont know son ' Simba replied , and he looked at his young grandson.kopa and vitani hadnt had their first yet but they would soon enough. kuzon was just under a year old. kopa adored his young nephew and was looking forward to spoiling the little prince rotten once he and the others got back..

Captain Carson pointed to the pit left by the excavation. Additional workers were picking through it to see if there were any other valuable materials in there. "It was uncovered after two of my men were cutting apart an Arkeyan Defender and the machine exploded."

Two armored laborers exited the vessel. One was holding a "lance" with a crystal tip. It was a thaumatic sensor, intended to see if magical devices were operational. "Captain, two out of the three onboard reactors are non-operational but they are out of fuel."

"What is the fuel?"

The other laborer held up an opened steel canister that was dusted on the inside with a luminscent blue dust. The label read "Mana Crystals: Suitable for all magically powered devices."

Captain Carson nodded and then pointed to the Arkeyan show cruiser. "We can't make this part of our fleet. It uses a fuel that we don't have, repairing the reactors will take resources which we may not have and it appears to be unarmed and unarmored. I'm proposing we donate it to a museum."

skylands is full of mana crystals 'Eon replied ' there is a large supply of mana crystals near the blue river on the skyland just west of here. ' go have your men grab a bag full of them and bring them back here.. ' we'll clean it up at least and see if it can be restored to its previous appearance

"True that," Captain Carson said. "But we can't harvest mana crystals when we're underway. And I actually would like it as part of our fleet. As we learned, high magic interferes with our vehicles, something similar to this would obviate that problem. But logistical problems make that an impossibility."

"Do you think we could make a synthetic fuel for the craft?" a laborer piped up. "Maybe attach some autocannons or rocket pods or some other weapon so it's not totally defenseless?"

perhaps there are other cruisers buried as well. there were devices on boards that could contact other cruisers, and those devices fed off each other. if one was active the others would respond and turn on as well. if we can find a few more' Eon said 'i'll give stripetail one, you one and keep one for my personal museum. any more than that, will be restored and brought into service for the residents of skylands.

The girls grabbed their clothes and took them to the cash register. They also took off their pink jumpsuits in anticipation of putting on their new clothes once they were purchased.

no need to thank me girls' tarrax smiled as he paid for the suits(shakila's was 250,Aimees 310) ' they look a heck of a lot better than the former attire. ' let me guess some merchant sold you a line on the ' last stuff i have in stock'? thats what do for stuff they desperately want to get rid off.. you girls can chuck that after you try on your new outfit..
