The plan worked. Arrows and rockets streaked into the sky as the troops began shooting at Captain Fairchild. The arrows did little more than poke small holes in his heavy armor but the rockets were powerful enough to do real damage. Luckily, his countermeasures managed to deflect the ones he couldn't dodge.

As he lured them away from the downed starship, Mr. Bigmouth got closer.

Soon, Mr. Bigmouth was near the location that the coordinates corresponded to. He looked around with his IR goggles and the sled's IR spotlight. Nothing. "Bentley, this is Bigmouth," he whispered into his headset mic. "I'm at your location. Signal to me and I'll get you out."

Bentley shot up a flash to signal where they were.

"The cavalry's almost here," he explained to his friends.

The IR flash stood out to Mr. Bigmouth. He wheeled his sled around and headed for the flash. When he arrived, he met Bentley and his crew.

The Sauropholus made an imposing sight with his combat helmet, ballistic vest, IR goggles and rifle dangling from his shoulder. "Get in! We'll take you back to our starship!"

Gron looked at the others. "Come on, let's go while we have a chance. No telling what may happen next." He said and went to go with the folks who had just shown up that they had been waiting for. He was glad they had come and they could get out of here. Though he had to admit some of them looked fairly imposing or scary even with the equipment they had on.

"Yea, lets get out of here before something happens." Gron said looking around to try to keep alert for any dangers or enemies. "Let's be careful and alert also." He said. He went out of the headquarters to keep watch for the others.

And not a moment too soon, Clockwerk's Crane Archers let loose a volley of arrows at the sled. Luckily, the sled was traveling too fast for them to get an accurate bead. Nevertheless, an arrow protruded from the sled's armored windshield.

Flashes of light lit up the dark forest as Captain Fairchild kept the Crane Archers at bay with bursts of rocket fire.

"Stripetail! This is Bigmouth! I have rescued Bentley and his crew. I am returning to the Spire of Winter! Bigmouth out!" he said into his headset radio. He swore profusely as another arrow lodged itself in the sled's windshield.

Aphelion priovide ciover for the sled, and Ratchet fored missiles at ther archers
_ I hear you Bigmouth. Bring them in so we can learn what exactly we are up against.." stripetail replied " will be awaiting your arrival.'
- Sly hung on to the repulsor sled as it ducked and weaved as they \tried to evade the attackers. more arrows stuck in the windshiekld, there were now 5 in all.
ratchet continued firingfm trying to clear a lane for the sled.

Gron got on the sled and held on. He his his fingers and toes to stick to the sled, using his natural ability to do that, being a type of lizard that could do that normally.

Joe Kiddo entered a cafe with Gomamon.

"I'm glad that is over. " Joe said. "I think I"ll sleep a day at least." He said, having been helping a bit in the medical area.

"Yea, maybe several days even." Gomamon said in agreement as they walked into the cafe. "Though I'm more hungry then tired right now.

"You're not the only one." Joe said.

Mr. Bigmouth winced as an arrow sliced into his arm. Setting the sled to autopilot, he dug into his messenger bag and applied an herbal ointment. He then wrapped that in a bandage. Satisfied he, resumed control of the sled.

The hail of arrows had now begun to abate. In the distance, he could see the lights of the downed starship and the temporary fortifications around it.

Mr. Bigmouth gunned the engine and headed straight for the "gate" of the fort.

Ratchet flew Aphelion and his friends into the ships hangar, and one by one the team debarked, relieved to back safely in the ship.. ' they waited for bigmouth to drive sly and the others inside the ship..
- We're back bodss ' Agumon said into his ring. ' Good work everyone. have Bentley and the others come to the Winterville inn.. We'll have a debriefing there..' stripetail replied.
- Sly gazed upwards at the huge ship getting closer and closer ' it was the biggest ship he had ever seen.

Joe and Gomamon went into the cafe and sat down. They both looked over the menus to see what was available and pick what they wanted to order.

The defensive turrets tore the pursuing Macaque Archers to pieces with a hail of 20 mm autocannon fire.

Mr. Bigmouth deftly piloted the sled up the lowered landing ramp and into the vehicle bay. "And we are here!" he announced as he shut down the sled and dismounted.

"Nice work!" Captain Carson said. She turned to the new arrivals. "Welcome to the RICMS Spire of Winter. I am the captain of this fine vessel."

Gron looked around at the ship that he could see. "It is a very large ship." He said amazed by the size. "Looks like it has impressive firepower too." he said, having observed some of the firing. "The crew size must be huge." He said.

Joe and Gomamon sat at a booth and looked over the menus to see what stuff they could choose from to order.

Spike walked into the cafe. He was hoping they had some gems, maybe some fried gems or something, but other food would be ok too.

Mr. Bigmouth knocked on Stripetail's door. "Stripetail, Bentley and his crew are at the Winterville Tavern."

He adjusted his gun belt and waited for Stripetail to come out.

Captain Carson was sipping a glass of water in the tavern. Soft electronic ambient music wafted from the speakers in the corner of the room.

"Your appetizer, Captain," the waiter said, placing a plate of hummus and pita bread in front of her.

"How may I help you?" the waiter asked as he placed glasses of water for Gomamon and Jason.

Stripetail opened the door " good work Mr Bigmouth we'll have the meeting in the breakfast area if the Inn i'll provide some things to eat while we plan our next move.." He looked at sly bentley and the otheers with interest. " I'm am Lord Stripetail at your service. this is the Spire of winter. we will try and help you either get off this planet or reclaim it from clockwerk. if you simply wish to leave, i understand and once we fix our ship we'll be in our way. now tyell me your names and what you do..' he said.

Gron looked around at the interior of the ship as they walked along. He had not seen a ship of this size before. He wondered what they were doing here and what would happen with them. He thought it best to remain silent and not say anything at the moment.

Joe closed the menu and put it away. "I'll have a burger, fries and a coke." He said. He had seen other things that interested him but decided to have this more traditional type fast food. He would get something else later on that was healthier.

Gomamon put away his menu. "I'll have some vegetable soup, large fries and a large coke." He said. He was hungry and this stuff on the menu had looked good.

Spike sat down at a booth, looking over the menu. The stuff here seemed similar to what they had in Equestrian restaurants and cafes, but were different as well. The subway sandwich looked interesting, a foot long, that was one large sandwich.

Two waiters returned with Gomamon and Joe's meals. "Your meals. Can we get you anything else?" an Iguana waiter said.

He saluted and headed to the inn's elevators.
