The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

"I assume it's farther away then an hour." Chaka said thinking it would take them a few days to get there.  Then however long to get rid of the bandits and then the same time back and to deal with all the forces of the duke and duchess to free the prisoners.  Unless she could remember the ritual needed to get the dark brotherhood to do the killing, but how knows how long it would take them to dispatch one of their agents to kill the person, and that would take 2 rituals.  She had read it in passing but never with the intent to learn it to someday do the ritual.

-----------------------

Walker looked at the fort.  He could see one person on watch not to far off, and 2 others on other parts of the watch areas.  He thought it best to do sentry elimination first.  Though from the cheap condition of the crossbow he would guess he'd get only a few shots from it.  He'd only do 1 then go further with getting into the fort and seeing how far he could kill.  He thought he'd have time to kill the nearest sentry then run and get to the fort before the others knew what was up.  Akotosh had not mentioned any others coming so he would have to do this himself.  He raised the crossbow to take aim. taking a deep breath then slowly letting it out, relaxing himself, not blinking or breathing as he took aim.  Slowing even his thoughts.  Not consciously aware as he pulled the trigger.

I'm back guys, so lets resume shall we?

IC: dar maa walkled alongside the group trying to keep her emotions in check. her friend ashnii was now a prisoner and dru essa had to stay behind to watch over kyo and feli. truth be told, dar maa was rapidly growing very fond of the lass, and she could tell from the looks dru essa gave her that the interest was mutual. " i hope we can reach the fort soon, so we can get out of this place' She said aloud.. ' first things first Dar;' Nicula said ' get the task done, we'll ge a lot of money out of it, and be able to free our friends..

OCC: It is great to see you again Nick.

IC: "These woods seem like the perfect place to hide, so I suggest you all to lower your voices for a while." - Qa'meret said very seriously, in fact, this would be the first time for the group to see the Khajiit this way, but he has a point, because the treetops are getting thicker, making the light more difficult to get through.

In the mean time, Kyo sighed because of the situation. He then looked at Dru Essa. - "a story eould be nice indeed, thanks. do you know any about fantastic creatures?"

lets see here, wel i do recall a tale from my hometown, about a hero called curnac, who went around slaying things like vampires trolls, goblins and such. but the toughest creature Curnasc claimed to have kiled was a thing called a hargraven, a cross between women and bird, who would lead victims to their dooms by calling in out in a women's voice for help then when help arrived it would slash them into bits. curnac heard of one such creature and set out to destroy it.

"Ohh, and how did he find that evil creature? I am liking as it sounds an epic fight will start." - Kyo said as he was sitting in a tall chair in the Inn, his eyes were fixed on Dru Essa since his attention is in her story now, forgetting about the rest of the group for a little while, his feet going back and forth as he was too small for that chair.

it wasnt easy, as hargravensd like to live in the mountains and in caves. so Curnac had to climb a very high mountain to reach the hargravens cave' Dru essa said ' he had a sword that could  reflect magical attacks so he was protected friom most enemys, but this hargraven was a powerful one, and a sly and cunning one to boot. she had heard of Curnac, and decided to try and trap him..

"I would like to have a sword like that, specially when I grow up." - Kyo commented, but he hoped he didn't interrupt the story. - "But I hope that monster will not capture him." - he said with a mix of worrying and excitment in his face.

well Curnac, finally reached the cave, which was filled with the bones of her victims, lets just say the hargraven didn't believe in keeping a tidy cave. curnac drew his sword and headed into the cave, being sure to keep his movement as quiet as possible as hargravens have very good hearing. the cave reeked of decay and death, for hargravens that smell is like perfume to you or me' Dru Essa said.

The orc bowed his head, and let the paper in his hand drift to the ground. He stood there quietly for a second. The wind blew, and rattled the leaves around him. The oak leaves were already starting to yellow and stiffen, and a few were already beginning to fall. They were scattered in messy piles between the winding tendrils of the breeching roots, like feathers among snakes.
"Malacath... please forgive me..." he murmured. The paper was a letter, addressed to the man's family. It's consents filled him with sorrow-- and all the pitiful weakness that came with it. To commit such a sin as weakness on a battlefield was grievous. He bared his teeth.
'Earn your forgiveness, like a true orc would,' the voice in his head murmured. 'Show those who would raise their sword to you no quarter. It is your duty, as a servant to me and as a servant to those who pay you, to fight as if it were your very last battle.'
"No quarter..." he muttered under his breath, his brow furrowing. His hand found it's way to the haft of his hammer, and tightened.
A smile appeared on his face. It had no more warmth or feeling in it than the smile of a shark.
"Of course, my lord. I'll kill any man who dares to try to raise their weapon against me. I will give them a death so glorious that they'll be treated as kings in the afterlife."
The Orc stampted his foot down on the letter and ground it into the dirt. He then turned and made his way towards the fort, heaving his massive hammer in his arms.
As he walked away, the crumpled letter blew into a small rivulet of the nearby stream. As the water began to ruin the carefully inked writing on the paper, it uncrumpled just enough so that some could be read.

"... luck, after this next raid, I'll never have to kill again. I was reading your letter to me, and I can't tell you the warmth that arose within me when I read about Sarah's first words. I'll make sure we have enough for a real house, Elaine. A real house with a real roof, and enough to buy a small farm. We won't live like royalty, but we'll be able to give our child the life she deserv..."

the letter made its way down the river , where it was picked up by sed nues, who dried the paper on a rock. the water had soaked the paper, but had not destroyed the writing.. ' the date revealed it had been written a couple days ago, the man had been killed in attacking the fort, and had never seen his family again.. sed nues bowed her head in sorrow ' this letter never reached his wife' she said sadly.. 'this letter was written  very recently, judging by the date, and i'm guessing we could find the owners remains somewhere inside the fort..
- dar maa dried out the paper with a gesture, and the writing was legible. ' elaine never got this letter' dar maa said, but their home was in Toor Sur, a city north of here.. we'll pass through it along the way, and  we'll try and find  the home of his family so they can receive this letter.

Eric's eyes gleamed bright red under his hooded cloak as he moved silently through the forest, ears flicking under the hood.  He was terse, eyes flicking around constantly, a grim, decidedly focused rage evident on his face.  He was scarcely containing his rage, his desire to charge forward and slaughter everything between himself and the completion of the goal.  He let a low growl out, forming razored claws around his hands and slashing deeply into a set of trees.
"Damn them!  How the hell were those bastards given power!  I swear...if they have harmed one hair on Ashnii's head...I will personally tear them limb from limb."
He swore darkly.  Sima Shi nodded, flicking his sword, the blade springing lightly as he tapped it.
"Agreed.  Such...despots have no right to lead people, much less throw those not even under their rule into jail."
He said tersely.  Sima Zhao, on the other hand, spun his sword around his hand, smiling languidly.
"Relax, you two.  It's no big deal.  Those two seem tough, and I'm sure that father'll have the town under new leadership in no time."
He said, grinning...
___________________________________________________________________

In the palace dungeon, one of the hooded figures walked over to Ashnii's cell, then idly grabbed the guard by the head, relieving him of his keys before tightening it's grip until the guard's head popped, blood and brains splattering across the ground.  With a cruel chuckle, it kicked the body aside, then used the keys to unlock the door to Ashnii's cell.
"Mmm...It's been some time since there was a female in here... Oh, I will enjoy this..."
It said, taking a menacing step towards Ashnii as it closed the door behind itself...

"That is a real tragedy..." - Qa'Meret said as he glanced at Dar Maa. - "but Imaybe the man knew the risks of the business he was getting into, I just wished he found another way to get the money he wanted to give his family a normal life." - the Khajiit then sighed and looked forward in the direction of the fort as he started walking again.

Kyo kept looking at Dru Essa with some fascination, since the Gaean Rabbit always loved stories. - "I hope Curnac will come out safely." - he said as he was leaning forward on his chair.

walker saw the bolt go into the neck of the guard.  As soon as he saw that he jumped from the tree and ran at the wall as fast as he could, dropping the cheap quality crossbow as he jumped down.  He had some long tree branches with the leaves removed, on his back.  He had an idea.  As he reached the fence he jumped, doing a flip and grabbing the top with one hand and pulling himself up.  He took out the bolt of the neck of the watch he had taken out.  Then he put the longest branch into the shirt and down one pants leg, then he did it with another.  These kept the now dead guard stiff and straight.  He propped him up as if he were still on watch.  He took a bit of vine and tied him to the wall to help keep him up.  With this Walker thought this should give him a chance to get a look around inside as long as he was careful, to get better information on the inside of the fort and how to take everyone out.  He knew he had a while before the next guard would come to relieve this one.  They didn't look to be the same size so putting on what he had would not work.   He didn't have full run of the fort, but he could see some inside parts of the fort better here then outside.

Who knows, he thought to himself, Taking out everyone here may not take as long for me to do as I think it may.

Ashnii quickly got to her feet and backed away from the opposing figure, revealing her claws.

"Take another step towards me and I will be forced to shed blood." She threatened.

----------------------------------------------

"She tricked Curnac with an illusion, making him believe he was speaking to his long-dead daughter. I've heard this tale before." Feli explained as she entered and took a seat.

-----------------------------------------------

"Well then, all the more reason to investigate the fort." John explained, his fists were clenched at that that moment. "But I doubt the Count or Countess will see another day if Ashnii is dead when we get back." He muttered.

Kyo looked at the girl. - "Hello Feli, I just hope you won't tell me how this story ends before time." - the kid said with a smile.

Qa'Meret looked at John. - "That is the very reason I have been telling all of you to hurry up, the sooner we finish this the better for all of us. I care none for that Count, I just want the group to come out of this city safely." - the Khajiit said unamused while still walking. - "let's just hope that Taloc and walker were able to get the information we need to make a proper plan."
