The Orc seemed to be snapped out of his state of religious ecstasy with a truly livid look of shock on his face. His first interpretation of the guard woman's words was that she was insinuating that his blood was unclean-- a very damning insult to an Orc, especially when one was giving a blood payment. But this look softened as he realized she meant the other bloodshed-- the blood of the soldier.
He remained kneeled by the old man's side as he answered.
"This old man showed me great kindness in the bazaar today," he said, and almost stopped speaking right there. If this had been an Orc stronghold, that explanation would have been enough. But he was not quite so zealous as to be blind that the ways of these people were not the same as his own, and elaborated further. "After he bravely fell in battle, I was honor bound to be sure his death was to be not only an honorable one, but also one of consequence. The woman the soldier attacked was also very frank and direct while speaking to me, so I felt no choice but to act on both her behalf as well."
He looked over to his sacred hammer, Volendrung. Despite being nestled in the crater of what was once a man's head, no blood or somatic matter stuck to it's spiked black surface. It's red eye stared into the crowd of onlookers at a particular group that the Orc could tell by mere spirit of essence were mighty warriors. They were the very same bunch he had seen in the inn this morning. There was a man sneering at the bloodshed in the same manner as a veteran warrior would sneer at a recruit's reaction to his first kill. There was the strange woman he had seen with him, her hand cupped over her mouth in disgust. There was the boy with strange, cold eyes who almost seemed to cackle with a foreign energy, like a piece of amber that had been rubbed with silk.
His master had whispered that he'd see them again... and here they were, sure enough.
He turned his gaze back to the guard's woman.
"I deeply apologize for the commotion I may have caused. You will be happy to know that the deaths of both the old man and the soldier were very swift."

The woman with the daggers walked over, dusting off her armor.
"Damnit.  That was...pathetic."
She muttered to herself, as both Sima Shi and Sima Zhao stood up, walking over towards the Orc and the town guard.
"At ease.  We'll take this matter from here."
Shi said calmly, facing the Orc.
"That strength of yours is formidable indeed.  If you would be interested in hearing me out, then perhaps I have an offer that may be of interest to you."
He said politely, inclining his head slightly...

"The strenght of that Orc is more than worthy for many songs..." - Qa'Meret said, he then stepped next to Kyo, placing his hands over the kid's shoulders. - "... but I think we might step aside for a little while, we can let Sima Shi and Sima Zhao to handle this."

Kyo didn't look back at Qa'Meret, he just remained there staring at the Orc but paying special attention to his very rare hammer. After some moments, he looked at the Khajiit. - "Where I come from is not as pacific as I would like it to be, I have seen death too. I am just sad about the old man." - he finally turned around, and walked towards the table he and Qa'Meret were eating, but he just remained there in silence.

The Khajiit didn't follow the kid, he knelt to reach Kyo's small dragon and signaled it to go next it's creator; he then stayed close to Sima Shi and Sima Zhao, waiting to see what would happen now, but he had a feeling what that offer about.

Eric placed his hand on Kyo's shoulder.
"Hey, kid.  Pacifism is a wonderful ideal to have.  But sometimes, we have to fight for it, as well.  If you want, I can teach you how to fight better."
He said softly...

The Orc got to his feet again, pausing only to grasp the handle of his hammer and yank it out of the reddened concrete. He have a wide smile that showed off every tusk-like tooth in his mouth. Something odd shimmered in his eyes. The overall affect was something similar to a Kabuki Demon mask-- a face that tried to look happy and instead looked horendous.
"I would hear your offer. What is it?"
He opened one of the packs on his belt as he said this and pulled out a long line of thread, along with a needle.
"You wouldn't happen to have a candle by any chance, would you?"

"You can be a pacifist one on hand, but be sure you have a weapon in your other one, even a concealed one." Walker said, looking around the area.  It did look to him like the commotion was over.

"Looks like things are back to normal here, or will be once the area has been cleaned up." Chaka said looking to see if Kyo was doing ok and was safe.

"To fight better?" - Kyo is feeling uneasy, because one part of him just want to him to grow up and work on farming like his real parents used to, but the other part of him figured he would have to fight eventually. - "I do live with Wolves in one of their territories, most kids there want to become soldiers and train since young age. But even though I was encouraged to train too, I was never sure what I want to do as an adult." - he then looked at Eric. - "But I admit I want to fight, to fight against slavers and demons... I just want to be useful. Can you teach me how to fight better?, maybe I can fight and one day become a peacekeeper, maybe like Walker says I could be."

Eric smiled, nodding a little.
"That is good.  I'm glad."
He said softly...

Sima Shi nodded, chuckling softly.
"That is wonderful news.  And as a matter of fact, I do happen to have a candle."
He said softly, tugging out a candle from within his coat.  He handed it to the Orc, bowing his head slightly.
"The offer is that you join a coalition."
He said gently...

Kunsan stared at the Orc. " very well; I accept you explanation. just leave here as quickly as you possibly can. I will have a lot to clean up before the start of business tomorrow. And for the record, I'm not a female, I'm a male wolf, and the owner of this bazaar.' he said.

The Orc accepted the candle and lit it with a flint. The curved needle was held up to flame of the candle, singing it with heat.
"My appologies, sir," he said slowly.
With that done, the Orc began to see the mark he had cut on his forearm back up again.
"I've generally gone about in solitude," the Orc said, resisting the deep urge to elaborate.
"But there have been many signs given to me today that I might be presented with an unusual opportunity."
The blood flow from his arm steadily decreased as he sewed the flesh back together with a neat stitch. The blacksmith was scratching his head as he watched the two bodies being taken away. The old man still had the Orcish dagger tucked in his grip.
The Orc finished the last stitch on his arm, and snapped the string off. His unblinking red eyes swivled slowly towards the guard's woman again.
"... And I've had a bit of a personal revelation," he said, but didn't elaborate further. "What is the purpose of your coalition? And what god is your banner under?"

"Excuse powerful warrior..." - Qa'Meret said to the Orc. - "I am not the right person to state the reasons of our coalition, but I can say that we only follow the gods that want us to be of help to bring some light of hope to the people of Eymreil , that is the reason of the journey we are all making." - he then made some artistical bows and movements as he spoke. - "It would be a great honour for us if you join us, because just as it happened now, there are people that would like to harm all of us. So, a bigger group means we can look for each others' backs."

Kyo kept looking at Eric. - "I hope you won't mind that I am not part of a warrior race, I live with warriors but most Rabbits are farmers, and some are miners. Although I do know there were very strong Rabbit warriors in the past."

"And some we good with 2 handed swords."  Walker said, half sorta remembering an image.  As for gods, does a very big gold dragon count?"  Walker said, remembering an impression or image he had from the earliest he could recall.

Chaka was trying to remain relaxed since everything seemed to be over.  "Large gold dragon?  Sounds like.."  She started to say, "but do we want to talk here and not elsewhere perhaps since I'm sure some others need to clean up here."

Eric smirked, nodding his head.
"Right.  Well, your powers can work for many things.  Farming, Mining, things like that."
He said softly.

Sima Shi chuckled.
"We serve the people.  We march under the banner of the people, acting to protect them from tyranny."
He said softly...

Kyo nodded to what Eric said. - "I think my homeland's mages will want to train me for working or anything, so I think it would be best if I can learn to make better use of magic for the journey we are making. You said we need to fight to get peace? If I can help you fight, then I'll be happy for you to help me." - the kid said with determination.

"A very big gold dragon? ..." - Qa'Meret asked Walker with a grin - "you are talking about Akatosh, am I correct, Walker? That dragon's divine image is what I would really like to see with my own eyes one day."

"Don't you know, lad? Courage is found in unlikely places." John uttered, it was harly louder than a whisper in the rabbit's ear. "And every being, no matter how small, can change the course of the future."

Eric smiled a little.
"Don't worry.  What I'll teach you is a way known as Katsujin-Ken.  The way of the life-giving sword.  In fact...I think I may have the perfect weapon for you.  Bokuto no Kyo...that has a nice ring to it."
He chuckled.

The Orc stared at them. Suddenly he nodded.
"I see now what opportunity has been lain out before me," he said.
"It is clear you were sent here by the pariah lord, if there was any doubt before. It is against my practice to associate with others: it causes reliance, and reliance will eventually beget the atrophy of your own strength."
He paused, and walked up to the group, storing Volendrung on the sling on his back. There had been much Orc literature written on the subject of reliance and it's relationship to one's strength; he tended to take the more conservative view espoused by GrÙjar gro-Tristram, in that reliance is something to be avoided except when necessary. But there was something to be said about aligning your strength to face tests impossible for an individual to face alone...
"My instincts tell me to make an exception this time. However, I have two conditions: one is that you provide me with hardship and strife greater than I could go and find on my own. The second..."
The Orc looked to the crying girl he had rescued. It was the salted meat vendor from earlier--the one who required money over trade. If he had more money on him, would that have been enough to get the woman to accept a trade with the soldier? Would that have stopped him from attacking her? And would that have saved the old man's life? It made him wonder...
He walked over to the tome of Ghost Stories on the ground opened to 'The Wendigo', and shut it.
"I want 600 coins a day for traveling with you. 1000 for every day I go into battle, except on any day immediately following a full moon. Is this acceptable?"

"I am not sure if Dae would accept that." - Qa'Meret said in a joking manner. - "but I would. Afterall I plan to keep working aswell so I help keep some extre income of coins, and a new friend is worth much more than any ammount of gold."

Kyo smiled at the comments of both John and Eric. - "I want to believe in what you said, John. I will do my best." - he then looked at Eric. - "The life-giving sword sounds very good to me Eric, but what does 'Bokuto no Kyo' mean?" - the kid asked with much curiosity.

Sima Shi nodded.
"Very well.  You services are greatly appreciated, sir."
He said, smiling...

Eric looked up.
"Huh?  Oh, Bokuto no Kyo means Kyo of the wooden sword.  Nothing fancy, but descriptive."
He joked...
