The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

SIX HUNDRED? Dae started  you're talking 1600 if we get into a fight tomorrow? No, No Absolutely NOT1 I have the gold..
_ and we have the numbers Dru essa said coldly. " Not everything is about money Dae
thats 2400 a month, 28800 a year and that assuming we dont fight a lot. if we do,, our gold will be gone..
in a couple months Sed Nues said " We'll be able to earn more gold along the way Dae. Don;t be such a miser. besides no bandits would be stupid enough to attachk us, not with him along for the ride.
_ we accept your terms Dar Maa said.  whats your name? we cant keep calling you Orc after all..
Dae looked like he was about to both vomit and collapse.

Qa'Meret looked at Dae and sighed. - "The number of possible fights will surely decrease a lot with our new friend's presence. But I think we are all willing to pay for that, specially because the rest of us will not stay and do nothing, we will still work and do other jobs."

Kyo giggled a little. - "Very descriptive as I can see your plan. But your description did sound very fancy, it must be a language from far away lands." - the kid then looked where Qa'Meret was. - "and if that huge Orc joins the group, things will get more calm, so we will have time for your training. I am eager to start."

The Orc responded to this news with the same unblinking stare.
"I will do my duty to protect you, then, until it is done or I am dead. My name is Taloc gro-Orsinium. I am an elected priest of the god of the spurned and the desolate, who will one day become the mightiest of the daedra: lord Malacath."
He smiled widely-- impossibly widely-- as he spoke the name of his deity. His normally unblinking eyes suddenly expanded slightly, as if in relish.
"And if my wage is unacceptable to you, Mr. Dae, a simple blood payment each day from each of you would cover my costs well enough. Now... Does your group have any other business in the city I can assist with?"

"Dae. Just give it up. Or I'll be the one handling the gold from now on." Ashnii retorted.

Dae sighed then brought out the big bag of gold, then handed it to Sed Nues " Merchant, take care of this' he said. ' sed nues shot him a look. ' why can you be nice for once' she said.
well taloc , its nice to meet you " dar Maa said kindly as sed began counting out the 600 gold needed for Taloc's daily wage..

Shi nodded.
"A pleasure to have you on our side, Taloc.  I look forward to working with you."
He said calmly.  Zhao nodded, offering a hand cheerfully.
"Ignore my spoilsport of an elder brother.  We're thrilled to meet you."
He said brightly...

Sed Nues finished counting the gold, then handed it to Taloc' here you go' she said with a smile. ' now shall we go exploring?' she said  ' this is a big city, and i'd like to see what it holds..' as she said this. a pair of guards, both wolves came into the bazaaar.. ' you there' they said imperiously ' mercenaries! our master and mistress has a job for you.. come with us!
- dae turned pale.. he thought they were going to be arrested..
-
what do you need us for/ nicula said as calmly as possible.. ' the Count will have further details when you see him. we are not permitted to say more..
-
dru essa followed behind Nicula, and she was followed by dae, then Sed Nues and finally Dar maa.  in front of them, on the other side of the city towered a huge palace. it was bright emerald green in color, with flags flying from every spire. it projected a sense of power, awe and intimidation.
-
wonder what they are going to ask us to do for them? nicula wondered as they headed towars the massive doors who were opened by 4 guards. revealing the ornately decorated building inside. a flight of steps unfurled upwards.

Taloc accepted the gold, taking the tiny bag and bowing a little. He wasn't sure if he should suggest he'd accept less payment in times of money shortages, but he wasn't sure if they would take that as an insult or not. An Orc would have been enraged at any suggestion that they might not keep their end of the bargain. He'd play it safe for now: he didn't really know these people well yet.

After pocketing the gold, he followed his new employers to the city palace. He saw the guards eyeing his hammer, and then he wondered: did they think him arrogant because he didn't have his weapon ready to defend himself? That he thought himself so strong he didn't consider these guards a threat? That would be a grave insult if that were the case.
The guards were muttering to each other and pointing, throwing tiny slitted looks at him in a way that surely must have been accusation, just like the orcs would whenever he went without his weapon drawn in a stronghold. Taloc stared at them with his massive red eyes, and then looked back to the group he was following. Well, it wouldn't be good if the guards thought he was arrogant-- it would reflect badly on his employers. He'd brandish his weapon at them, just to play it safe.
The orc pulled his hammer out of his sling and the guards suddenly locked their eyes on them, some of them pausing their hands near their weapons. Satisfied with his display of respect, he walked up the staircase of the palace, tailing the others. The architecture blended well with the lighting from the scant square windows. He saw mounted wolves' heads with the names of the hunters underneath, and tapestries displaying great, massive sieges with catapults and cavalry charges and volleys of arrows. The strange sites convinced him that it may be best to let the other do the talking around here-- he would just stand with his weapon drawn to keep showing respect to the palace guards.

"I bet it's a murder they want us to do, or some assassination, like the dark brotherhood." Chaka said.

"paid killers, sounds about right." Walker said with no emotion in his voice.

"I certainly hope not..." - Qa'Meret told Chaka. - "but I bet they want us to make some random errants, you know, small tasks we are perfect to do instead of them using their manpower and resources."

Kyo was walking alongside Qa'Meret and Chaka, looking around at the palace and all it's fabulous garments and decoration details. He tries to imagine all the stories behind the sculptures and paintings, forgetting for the moment about whatever reason the group was called to the palace in the first place.

the Count of Drusolas was dressed very regally. he was a wolf and stared at the group with intense green eyes. his throne was made of gold as was the crown on his head.right now the look on his face, indicated that he did not think very highly of those 'mercenaries'. ' who are these creatures?" he asked in a commanding yet slightly bored voice. ' well? speak up! My time is precious..."

Walker, "if we're not wanted we may as well leave." He said and turned to start to leave, not wanting to stay where he was not wanted and it did appear they were not wanted.

"Indeed, we were not expected and perhaps just leave.  They are likely busy doing their own business and we can go about ours." Chaka said.

Eric chuckled coldly, then turned his back on the thrones.
"I don't need to come here to get insulted by anyone.  Whatever you need, I'm not interested."
He said coldly, walking off...

Taloc titled his head slightly as he heard his friend's words. They were behaving like a bunch of total savages, insulting someone in their own home. He took a step forward and slammed the top head of his hammer onto the ground so he could rest his palms on the bottom of the shaft.
"We are a band of traveling warriors, your eminence. We were called, and came assuming you had either need or want of us."
He gave his hideous full toothed kabuki-mask smile while setting his alarming red eyes with pinpoint intensity at her.
"We are humbled by your beautiful city and your marvelous palace, m'lady. Please, what service can we offer to you and your city?"

"Everybody's time is equally precious.  No one's time more then any other." Walker said.  "just as no one person, regardless of their position is more important then any other person, be they king or farmer." Walker said.  Walking out since by his estimation this so called king was not deserving of his throne, not showing any restraint a wise king would, not basic politeness and having an elitism that he believed, or acted like, he was better then all those around him.

"Walker does have a point." Chaka said, not sure if she wanted to stay or walk out.

"We should remain calm, if the Count and Countess of this city need our help, I say we remain here and listen to what they have to say." - Qa'Meret said agreeing with Taloc's opinion.

Kyo remained silent but he rather say anything, he just tried to keep his face hidden under the hood.

"So, what is it you want us to do, Count? A bandit raid?" John asked.

well, its that this job is not going to be easy' The Count repl;ied ' we have sent several mercenaries to this place already. none have returned, hence why we are offering this level of reward for successfully completing this task- 100 thousand gold' the Count said. ' and yes it is a bandit raid. theres an old fort north of town thats been taken over by them. i thought at first it would be a simple matter, but either i;ve been sending fools, or theres more going on there than it appears/
