General Land Before Time / Why does everyone hate "Good Inside"?

I don't hate "good inside". I just think it is forgettable. And too preachy.

Dang. So far, a lot people didn't have a good year. I've had a great 2011 as I've graduated from community college, Moved up to higher education, kept myself healthy, didn't have too many social problems with some people in my life, and I've gotten a lot of my art stuff done.

I've read that 2011 has been one of the worst years for tornadoes in recent memory, despite advances in forecasting technologies and warning systems. In the past 100 years, the number of tornadoes has actually decreased. In the late 1800s, records indicate that about 200 tornadoes would touch down in the U.S. per year on average.
The average is now about 22. This year, however, is above the recent averages, with about 49 so far in 2011.

Hopefully this year will be better. My new years resolution is...stay alive.

General Land Before Time / Why Do People Hate the Sequels So Much?

right from LBT2, the tone completely changed. As a kid, I didn't mind. But now that I'm older, this change in tone did start to aggravate me, I admit.

I felt the same way when I first saw LBT 2. I bought the original and LBT 2 when I was 7. I watched the original first and loved it. When I watched the second I felt that there was just far too much fluff! The singing was unbearable and unnecessary to me and very little of these perilous situations impacted me as a kid. I was willing to watch the rest of the sequels but I found them all to be forgettable. To me, all of the sequels weren't entertaining. Especially when I got older.

The only sequel that had somewhat of an "edge" to it was LBT 5 but the movie could've been better.

Merry Christmas to all of you! We usually don't get presents for christmas, but mom was nice this year and gave me a Lion King Bluray disc as well as a computer game (LEGO Harry Potter year 5-7) biggrin.gif

Yeah...we don't usually get presents either but I'm currently enjoying the gift cards and tips I've gotten from random Christmas spirited people. Plus I rewarded myself by buying myself some Oreos. :)

Silver Screen / The My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic Thread

I gotta say, I've caught up with all of the season 2 episodes and so far, my absolute favorite is secret of excess! But at the same time I can't give away my overall opinion of the season until I've seen them all. The two-parter in this season is far more entertaining than the first two-part episodes as I found it to be a bit cheesy and fluffy.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :celebrate
Me and my fairly large family just ate some Bar-b-q turkey, Mac & Blu-Cheese, and some green-beans with Basil!

What are you or what did you have for thanksgiving? Did you hang out with your friends and family or are you just chillin' at home?

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / Did the series get a good finale?
« on: November 22, 2011, 04:21:41 PM »
It never had a "finale". And even if it did it would probably be just as abysmal as the thirteenth movie and through the eyes of Spike. I would not want the franchise to be revived either.

I've been gone for 2 months and this thread has already reached 98 pages?! You bronies are crazy! I never got a chance to watch the season two episodes yet but I'll ask this; Is the second season two-part episodes as good or better than the first in your opinions?

I'm not surprised that the pokemon franchise is filled with real-life elements of goods, mountains, and regions of Japan. It is no wonder why Japan gets a hold of these games six to eight months before any other country, but I know that the Japanese are huge fans of Pokemon. I've read that the Unova region has inspirations of the Brooklyn Bridge and New York City. And I like that! :)

How is it in Japan? I heard this year that they've been hit by a lot of natural disasters lately.

I already have this game on my wii so their is no need for me to get this. I'd rather just watch Youtube videos of this game and happily do barrel rolls on my virtual console version. ;)

Silver Screen / Lilo and Stitch franchise

i liked the movie and liked the fact he had so many cousins.
I always wondered why Jumba created 600+ experiments to do evil things. Having that many animals running around on earth and having to catch them all again reminds me of Pokemon. ...Maybe that is why the Stitich! series is so popular in Japan.

I have to disagree right there. I thought the Lilo and Sytich T.V Show was a lot better in my opinion.

I firmly agree with this. The LBT series was just forgettable. Too many forgettable songs, lack of peril, and barely any funny moments. <_<
The Stitch TV series however, was humorous enough for adults, it had interesting plot points, decent morals, and their was always something going on. In other words, it was entertaining. :yes

Silver Screen / Lilo and Stitch franchise
« on: August 17, 2011, 12:25:22 PM »
Remember the First film back in 2002? Remember how they heavily promoted the movie? After going back into my movie drawer and watching it again I almost forgot how good the movie was. I found it interesting that this movie along with The Princess and The Frog were the only traditionally animated films released in the 2000's that made their money and received critical praise. Winnie The Pooh could have made its money but unfortunately Harry Potter made sure that didn't happen.

The other spin-off/sequel movies like Stitch! the movie and Lilo and Stitch2 were movies I was not impressed since the continuity was pretty confusing. Speaking of continuity, I'll talk about that in my thoughts on the TV series. To me they were just typical direct-to-video sequels that were obligatory than fun. Leroy and Stitch on the other hand was better than the previous films but was still missing the magic of the original film. It was also the last film that would feature the Lilo and Stitch franchise.

I loved the TV series years ago. I never got the chance to watch all of them at the time but thankfully certain video sources fixed that problem. Good amount of humor, crossovers with Recess, Proud Family, and Kim Possible, and decent morals. Now the Japanese adaptation of the Li-oh I'm sorry-Stitch! TV show is a bit confusing to me.
From what I learned from this show is that in the English dub Lilo is a grown woman whom left Stitch because of her boyfriend and the setting takes place off the coast of Japan. But originally its suppose to be an alternate universe that doesn't coexist with the Lilo and Stitch arc. Do all English dubbed Japanese shows have this problem?

I've watched the Stitch! TV shows but I still prefer the true version of this franchise. A lot of these episodes are generally weak and lack a great deal of action. Not only that, the experiments don't appear as much as they should and Lilo doesn't make an appearance until the 23rd episode of the third season. Right now Stitch! is very popular in Japan but not as much in the Americas or European countries.

What do you think of the Lilo and Stitch franchise?

Silver Screen / The My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic Thread

I felt that the opening was cheesy too. I couldn't even watch "Winter Wrap up" because their was just too much...fluff in that episode. I don't mind any singing if it is visually stunning and has a good amount of comedy in it but if its just filled with fluff and nothing else I just can't listen to it. So I skip it.

Does My Little Pony need any singing?
