It's Party Time! / What if...
« on: September 06, 2011, 12:30:57 PM »
I didn't know where to put this as I can't figure out which thread it fits into.

My World History teacher made us play this game in class. It was actually quite fun. Basically, you take an event, historic or otherwise, and you change it. For instance, someone in my class asked "What if John Wilkes Booth had not succeeded in assassinating Lincoln?" And then everyone else would think of possible scenarios as a result of this theoretical change.

So let's start with that same question. What if John Wilkes Booth had not succeeded in assassinating Lincoln?

The Fridge / Bizarre fears you have
« on: September 01, 2011, 10:08:26 AM »
I know there's a fear topic around here somewhere, but for the sake of time I'll post this topic.
Name any fears you have that might be considered strange.
For instance, I have a fear that my head will get stuck in the couch cushions and I'll suffocate.

1988 Theatrical Release / DVD question
« on: August 09, 2011, 04:08:21 PM »
I have a question about the DVD of the film. Ok so I was watching The Land Before Time on Encore and I realized that at the beginning of the film, it didn't have a black border on the underwater sequence. For some reason my DVD has this border. But only for that part. As shown below

The showing on Encore didn't have this. And neither does the VHS. Can anyone shed some light on this cause I am at a loss.

1988 Theatrical Release / Theory about the sharptooth fight scene
« on: July 22, 2011, 12:04:36 PM »
So, I had this theory that's been running through my brain for the past few days about the Sharptooth fight scene. So, I watched the 80s TV Spot for The Land Before Time video on YouTube and I saw the little sharptooth snippet there. And then I spent the next 2 days contemplating where this scene would fit into the movie. And then I watched the movie again. And then I listened to the score for the scene on the soundtrack. We all know that something was cut out because the score doesn't match the scene in length. Then it hit me. When Littlefoot's mother's tail hit those rocks, there was that mud water seen in the sharptooth snippet in the TV spot. Then another thing hit me. What if, after she whacks the sharptooth, the scene keeps going on from there? I know that trailers are made in advance to the actual release of the movie and that certain scenes aren't included. But I don't believe the scenes were made for advertisement purposes like most trailer scenes are. After this hit my brain, I decided to play the movie and score side by side, movie muted. I noticed that all the way from where the score seems to extend from the scene after Littlefoot's mother whacks the sharptooth in to the wall it continues. It doesn't seem to match on after but that's probably because of 22 years of seeing that scene the way it is. But if you're open minded enough to replace the score, it matches all the way up to the second time the sharptooth is hit. And then continues. I'm thinking that the little snippet was a piece of the following sequence after. Also look at when the sharptooth falls to the ground. The scenery changes. If you want to see what I mean or don't get what I'm stating, check out this video I made. I didn't know whether to post this in Outcut land before time scenes or start a new topic. If any of the admins feel it should go there....

LBT Projects / Beyond the Mysterious Beyond (Ending)
« on: July 14, 2011, 04:13:39 AM »
I didn't know whether to post this in the General LBT section or here.  :confused
It's the ending version of Beyond the Mysterious Beyond. It's short but to be honest, I liked it more than the full length version.  :p

1988 Theatrical Release / Scene Mistake
« on: July 11, 2011, 12:53:02 PM »

I never noticed this before. I was watching the movie and I noticed that during this part, when the cherry dropped in the flyer's mouth, the scene sort of bugged out. So I went in frame by frame and noticed that certain details of the scene changed, in-scene.

Gamers Zone / Project Zomboid
« on: July 05, 2011, 11:36:35 AM »
I've been playing this RPG game, Project Zomboid, for about an hour and a 1/2 and already I am hooked. This game is an indie game release about a month or so ago. Basically you try to survive in a world full of zombies. It's actually quite fun and can be scary at times. And the music ties some of the moments together. Has anybody else heard of it?

LBT Projects / Auditions!
« on: June 29, 2011, 09:52:42 AM »
Okay, so after nearly a week and managing to get my topic past page one, I decided that it was time for auditions. So below I have posted audition lines for each character. These are lines I feel define each character (in my opinion) and lines I feel required the most output out of each participant. These are lines I prefer but if you want to do any other lines in the movie feel free. The posted ones are just preferred.

Narrator/Rooter Audition Lines:
1st Option: (Narrator) "Once upon this same earth, beneath the same sun..." (up to)... "He knew they would be together always.
2nd Option: (Rooter) "Hey! (sniff) What's going on here?..." (up to)... "Well, that too will go in time little fella. Only in time."
3rd Option: (Narrator) "The Great Valley was all they dreamed it would be..." (up to)... "The tale of their ancestors' journey to the valley...long ago."

Littlefoot's Mother Audition Lines:
1st Option: "Oh. I'm sorry my dear. The land has been changing and that is why we must walk as far as we can each day until we reach the Great Valley..." (up to)... "It's still a long way, but we'll get there."
2nd: "I'm not sure I can Littlefoot..." (up to)... "Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely."
3rd Option: "Dear, Littlefoot. Do you remember the way to the Great Valley..."(up to)... "I'll be in your heart, Littlefoot. Let your heart guide you."

Daddy Topps Audition Lines:
Basically the very few lines he spoke in the movie. "Come, Cera. Threehorns never play with Longnecks..." "Cera!" "Cera?" (Try to be gruff when it comes to the first line)

Littlefoot Audition Lines:
1st Option: (calling out) "Mother! Mother! Mother? Where are you?..." (up to) "Mother? Mother!?"
2nd Option: (speaking to Rooter) "It's not fair. She should've known better..." (up to)... "My tummy hurts."
3rd Option: (to Ducky)... "Don't you know anything? Longnecks don't talk to...uh...whatever you are..." (up to)... "I guess it is. We can't do it."
4th Option: "Come on, get up. We're going the right way. Gotta keep movin' up..." (up to)... "Come on. We have to keep going. Come on."
5th Option: (to Mother's spirit)... "Mother! Mother, I tried to do what you told me, but it's just too hard. I'll never find the Great Valley..." (up to)... "We did it! We did it together!"

Cera Audition Lines
1st Option:(to Littlefoot) "Threehorns never play with longnecks."
2nd Option: (to Littlefoot) "What do you want?..." (up to)... "And they only travel with other threehorns."
3rd Option: " Frightened? Me? (laughs sarcastically)..." (up to)... "and said Ergh!!"(whatever noise she made)
4th Option: "See. I can take care of myself...all by myself..." (up to)... "I hope he doesn't eat any of you."
5th option: "This is your 'Great Valley'? You're crazy...." (up to the end of the fight with Littlefoot)

Ducky Audition Lines
1st Option: "Hello. I said, 'Hello.'..." (up to)... "Nope, we cannot do that alright. (giggles)
2nd Option: "Helllloooooohhh? Hello?... (up to)... "You are a spiketail so we will call you Spike (giggles).
3rd Option: (gasp) "Sharptooth. Spike... (beckons over to her) mmm mmm."
4th Option: "He was my friend. Poor Petrie. (others walk away) Poor, poor Petrie. (Petrie is not dead) Petrie? Petrie, you're safe! Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep!"

Petrie Audition Lines
1st Option: (exclaims as Littlefoot shakes strange leaf he is on) (Weird gurgling sound) (Laughs while on Littlefoot's face) (screams) "My name Petrie. Uh I-I flied. I falled. (snivels). I climbed. Hard thing to fly. (growls) (weird noises.)
2nd Option: "You got nice flat head, Flathead (giggles)..." (up to) "Dear, brave, Cera. (While Cera is storytelling) Woohoo"
3rd Option: "Hmm, no green foods here and I still hungry..." (up to) "Hmm, Ducky."
4th Option: "Flathead! Wait! Whoa whoa whoa waoh! No be angry. Wait!
5th Option: "You go without Petrie?"

Scenes to be Enacted by All Characters (lines I felt important that included all main characters (kids) instead of just 1 or 3)
Scene 1: Scene from when they find the clump of trees up to when they get the green food.
Scene 2: The Mountains that Burn scene to where Cera leaves the group after being humiliated.
Scene 3: The Sharptooth plan up til Petrie is taken underwater by the Sharptooth.

For the scenes I didn't feel like posting each characters' lines individually so I just posted the entire scene to perform.
Have fun :goodluck

LBT Projects / The Land Before Time (1988) Scenes with Score
« on: June 27, 2011, 12:19:47 AM »
I'm working on uploading scenes from the film with the music score for each scene. I've posted the Mountains that Burn scene on this forum before but I should have put it here. So I'll post that link first. My second video is still uploading to YouTube but as soon as it is done uploading and processing I will post the link.Mountains that Burn Scene

The Welcome Center / Hello
« on: June 24, 2011, 04:59:16 AM »
I don't know how I overlooked this forum. I just wanted to introduce myself as I haven't given proper introduction. I'm Justin, from Texas. I live in the States, Louisiana (sad little town I live in). Um, my favorite LBT movies are 1-9, 1 being the top of that list. I found this site while trying to find those uncut scenes. No luck there. Um, I enjoy doing vigorous physical activities, such as rope and rock climbing, running, swimming. I am a very talkative, outspoken person, if I can get comfortable enough. If you want to know anything else, just ask. I'll answer if you're willing to ask.  :wave

LBT Projects / Fandub of The Land Before Time (1988)
« on: June 23, 2011, 11:16:08 PM »
I didn't know if I should post this here or in some other area but I deduced that this was an LBT project. So I was recently watching The Land Before Time and I, knowing the film oh so well, was speaking every line in the movie. And then I started thinking of this site. Then, I started thinking, "Hey, what if members of the GoF did a fan dub of the film?" And so I am posting the idea here. I will give details if many people are interested. If not... it was worth a shot.

LBT Projects / The Land Before Time Mountains That Burn Scene
« on: June 23, 2011, 09:02:27 PM »
I was a little nervous about posting this, but I feel like I can get over my shyness and just post this anyway. I was working with the Mountains that Burn scene from the first LBT. Basically, I muted the entire clip and added an edited version of The Rescue/Discover of the Great Valley track from the soundtrack. It is a bit off, due to the fact that I have no prior editing skills. I, in my opinion, found the scene more disturbing and action-packed without the background voices and sounds. Oh, and I flipped the video in order to avoid copyright issues. And thankfully it worked.
