Gamers Zone / GOF's Games of the Year 2011
« on: December 25, 2011, 09:32:13 PM »
I second Minecraft. It's all I ever play now. No other games can really hold my interest anymore. Once I acquired the unbounded freedom and limitless possibilities of Minecraft, I could never really go back to any other games where the gameplay is more linear and controlled. And that applied to just about every other game out there.

- Lots of candy.

LBT Multiplayer RPG Project Discussion / PLEASE READ: Project is canceled.
« on: December 14, 2011, 11:20:38 AM »
It was a really big project to take up. I've been messing around with 3D game-making and I can say that it is not even remotely easy as people think. You have to be 100% dedicated and have a LOT of free time. Regardless, maybe some time down the road you'll be able to get some members together again and start this back up. Who knows? :p

I just dreamt last night that I died in a nuclear explosion. Some huge piece of metal came flying at me from the distance. Pretty intense :p After that, no idea.

Gamers Zone / Nintendo sales falling
« on: December 06, 2011, 12:29:12 AM »
I know that Nintendo can make great games on their own without the need for flashy graphics, as I am one who greatly appreciates gameplay over graphics. But the fact is that the majority of the buyers out there are drawn in to high definition, killer graphics. Modern Warfare 3 made something like $770 million in sales in the first 5 days of its launch. There are just far more people out there who favor cutting edge graphics and simple straightforward gameplay.

Gamers Zone / Nintendo sales falling

Nintendo really needs to bring a next-gen console to the table. Their latest handheld, the 3Ds, is just that: a handheld. Most people will see that and think "I could spend $170 for a little handheld system, or $250 for an xbox 360 and play action-packed games in high definition". The fact is, those little handheld systems are WAY too overpriced. The hardware in them can't even come close to competing with the hardware that is in systems like the xbox 360 and ps3. When it comes down to it, the majority of gamers will favor the more appealing, larger, and powerful systems for a little bit more money, than spending all that on a little system with hardware probably on-par with the gamecube. Portability is nice, but we've long moved into the next generation of graphics and processing power. Nintendo really needs to start acknowledging that.

Gamers Zone / Whatcha playin'?

I'm currently playing the Classic Doom games again because I just love the simplicity of them, along with the mindless bloody mayhem :p That, and trying to beat Halo 1 on Legendary again.

I think I got strep throat once as a kid, because I remember my throat hurting so much it was hard to swallow, and I had to go to the hospital. I can't STAND cold sores, I don't get them often, but if I feel one coming on I carry around a tube of blistex for like a week and attack it :p

General Land Before Time / Petrie's solos have got to go!
« on: November 27, 2011, 01:29:17 PM »
I never really thought he sounded that bad in songs like "Boring" and "Good Inside" because frankly, those are kind of light-hearted, fun songs and hearing him sing in them is more amusing than painful. The fact that he had a cold in the song "Boring" only added to the amusement :p Now in songs like "Always There" and "Best Friends", I can see where you're coming from, as those are very emotional songs, and his voice would not do them justice if he were to have a solo (can't remember how much he sang in the "Best Friends" song).

All I can say is thank god he was taken out. He is the most ugly, annoying, pointless character that was ever introduced to a video game series.

My friend: I just wasted all that money on a monitor with 1 billion colors that I can't even tell are there.

Me: Oh don't feel so bad, you only spent $1,300 on it.

My friend: Oh gee thanks!

The Fridge / On the road to a Weight loss goal :)
« on: October 23, 2011, 09:37:28 PM »
I don't know much about weight loss, but one thing that actually caused me to lose a lot of weight was not eating close to my bed time. So my last and final thing I eat is like 2-3 hours before I go to bed. My original intention was because I used to have trouble sleeping some nights with a full stomach, but it actually caused me to drop from 170 to about 124. In fact it was such a quick sudden drop in weight that I was blood tested numerous times for things like Anemia and Diabetes. But that's all that did it was not eating late at night. I'm not sure how well this would work for anybody else, but it did for me, even though it was completely unintentional.

A long long time ago, when I was a kid, I had a dream that Littlefoot died, and I actually woke up in tears. Needless to say, it's a good thing nobody else was in the room

The Fridge / Account balance of the Internet
« on: October 03, 2011, 08:14:35 PM »
I could never live without the internet. I learn so much just from researching things online, and I can make friends no matter where they are in the world. The internet has made one of the biggest positive impacts on my life. I wouldn't know half of what I know now if it wasn't for Google :p

The Fridge / Paranormal encounters
« on: October 02, 2011, 09:10:09 PM »
The only weird thing that ever happened in my house is one time in the attic I threw an article of clothing over the balcony down the stairs, and later on I saw that it was back on the attic floor. But I was very young at the time, and probably brought it back up into the attic and later forgot I did. Other than that though, nothing has ever happened. Any weird things that may happen that freak me out are easily explained. Like our house makes random creaking noises at night, but that is because it is a very old house and the walls and floor settle. We also used to hear our piano playing late at night but quickly found out it was our cat walking on the keys. And for a long time late at night I would hear very low, creepy-sounding mumbling coming from the second floor of our house, but as I got older I realized that it was the low frequency sounds coming from our upstairs tenants' television. I have never in my entire life even come close to what you may call a "paranormal encounter", and I guess I hope it stays that way :p
