Are you by any chance referring to the Peking Man found in the cave of Zhoukoudian, or however it's spelled, that is somewhere near Beijing? That cave is in the Republic of China area, right? I heard his approximate time of having lived there was somewhere between 200,000 and 500,000 years ago, so at least I'll get the year part right. Am I on the right track here or did I completely misunderstand your question?
