Are there any programs made just for email?

I was wondering, do they have programs out there that are designed just to handle all your email? I don't sign on Yahoo enough to check my email on there, and I hate Msn's email system.

I know I've heard of a few programs, but I can't remember what they were called.

Also, is there a way to actually move your email from other accounts into that one account?

There's microsoft outlook already built in to almost every windows computer in existance.  I use it all the time and it's probably the best email program out there.

I'm using the Microsoft Outlook express and I'm using it for two different accounts (posts send to either address will end up in the same folder unless you change settings). So far I have been quite happy withe the programme.

My dad used to have a Microsoft Outlook e-mail. I always hated it, to be honest. No offense to those who use it.

Mozilla Thunderbird will do that.  You have to go and install it yourself, but it'll do what Microsoft's Outlook will do (which I don't use).

Cyber, I hated it mostly because, on our older computer, when I accidentally clicked an e-mail, Microsoft Outlook would open up and take its sweet time in doing so, and it would slow down the old comp significantly and I'm forced to wait while it loads only to close it and try again, and sometimes I click the e-mail again, forcing me to endure more slowness from the computer.

DarkHououmon, doesn't every email system open the email when you click on it? I know Yahoo and MSN do.

Ok, well the only reason I hated MSN email so much was because there's no option to mark multiple messages as "read". You have to open each email individually. Yahoo, on the other hand, has a way to mark them all as "read" so you don't have to go through them all.

Do you have to get Mozilla Firefox to use that? I always wanted to just stick with Internet Explorer, and not really change it.

This is a feature the Outlook Express provides. The program still has its shortcomings. For example there should be a way to give the computer orders such as: "If" an email is from an unknown address "and" has an attachment "then" delete it from the server. Such an option would spare you a lot of junk but regretably you can only give one "if" so some junk will easily get through.
Nevertheless I have always been happy with the outlook express as you can easily archive your emails (I still must have my very first emails to and from Adam saved somewhere) and have an easy access to them. For example if you search for a topic in a particular email you wrote or received one or two years ago, it is extremely easy to find that email with the Outlook Express by searching for keywords. In a matter of seconds you can get the one email out of thousands. Of course you would get plenty results if you looked for "the land before time" in my mail

Hmmm, maybe I should try out Outlook Express then. :p But this brings me to my other question: Is there any way to actually move your email from one account to another? It seems like something there would be a program for or something, but I don't know.

What exactly do you mean by moving emails from one account to another?
I'm using two different email address but download the mails from both address with the outlook express. In my case all the emails, no matter to which address they were send end up in the same folder, sorted by date. I could arrange for the mails to arrive in folders for each address, but it wouldn't make any sense for me.

Perhaps I worded it wrong. I'm not talking about the e-mail, I'm talking about the e-mail address. If I accidentally click on an e-mail address, the program would slow down the computer as it slowly opens up.

Aahh, I see what you're saying then. :p

Basically, I have mail going into my yahoo inbox, and mail going into my MSN inbox. Would there be a way to take the mail out of one of the inboxes and put them all in the other inbox? And could I set it up so even the mail that goes into my msn would go into my yahoo mail, and vice versa?

That should work out. At least that's the way it works out for my email addresses which come from different providers. However, not all providers allow to download emails from other providers to the outlook express while you are logged in over their provider. I don't know which providers do and which don't. I cannot guarantee that Outlook Express is the solution to all your problems, but from what you described so far it sounds like it is basically what you are looking for. Maybe you should check out the microsoft pages to get some further information on the programme.
