"So we guessed," said Grandpa. "You look a lot like her. I assume her life in the Shadowlands probably wasn't a happy one. She was very young when she was taken. Actually..." he thought for a few moments in his head.
"That... that shouldn't be right," Grandma commented. She was having the same thoughts as her mate.
"If I'm thinking correctly," he said dreamily. "Nani was much younger than Jenna was... and I think that in the time that's passed, and judging by your age... Of course, I'm just guessing this, but she must have been far too young when she had you."
"Only just able to have children," Grandma confirmed. Both of the older longnecks looked at each other with concern and sadness. They only just realised what pain their best friends' daughter had to go through.
