Then the "gang" would have been less likable to the target audience, and the films would have probably become a morality tale about respecting others regardless of how much stronger or older you were.

What if Chomper made a wish on a magical stone and turned all of the gang of seven into sharpteeth? (Yes, in case anyone was wondering, I did get this idea from brekclub85's great fanfiction 'Sharptooth Valley'.)

First, they get banned to the Mysterious Beyond for being Sharpteeth, then they'll train hunting and fighting so they can finally end Redclaw's terror regime

That actually sounds like an interesting idea for a fanfic.

Littlefoot would be bitterly depressed for a while and would continue to think about her from time to time, but after being comforted by his friends and being reminded of the great circle of life by his grandfather he would eventually return to his old self.

What if Littlefoot continued to grow at a slower pace (as eluded to in LBT XI) than is typical for his species? In particular how would Shorty and other longnecks react to this development?

Well, Littlefoot's Grandparents would always encourage and love him, no matter of their son's size. Shorty would bully him for being too small (so would Cera).
Not sure how Ali would react... I guess she'd accept Littlefoot but she wouldn't like it much that he's smaller than he should be.

What if Pterano meets Rinkus & Sierra again?

I would imagine that there would be trouble. Rinkus and Sierra would be irate at Pterano for leading them astray with tales about the power of the Stone of Cold Fire. Although I suspect Sierra (due to his sociopathic characteristics) would be the main threat in terms of direct violence, as Rinkus would probably only cause trouble if there was some benefit for him in the equation.

What if Spike gained the ability to speak to a meaningful extent? Would he only talk about food?

He'd talk about food a lot, but also about sleeping or even serious things like the meaning of true friendship...

What if a major argument splits the Gang into two groups? Two might be allying with who?

The Gang of Seven would split into Ruby&Chomper vs. the Gang of Five. The Gang of Five would split into three groups: Littlefoot, Cera and everybody else, or into four groups, with only Ducky and Spike staying together.

What if Sue wasn't there?

A sad but very believable possibility.

I would imagine that one of the other residents (perhaps Mama Swimmer?) would take him in temporarily. Perhaps, as a more permanent solution, he would then be sent off with a wandering longneck herd as soon as one stopped by the valley.

What if the gang didn't realize that all of Mama Swimmer's eggs were in the nest and simply left Chomper's egg in her nest? Considering hadrosaur maternal instincts, how would Mama Swimmer have reacted to her purple, sharptoothed child?

Well, if she was around the same age as Cera then I think it would be safe to say that there would be a lot more "butting heads" (literally) between the step-siblings considering the usual temperament of threehorns.

What if Ali chose Rhett as a love interest and outright rejected Littlefoot? How would he and the gang react?

Even if Chomper failed to successfully land the bite, there would have been grave consequences for Chomper. I do not doubt that the adults would have been exiled from the valley... or worse.

What if Ruby developed an allergy to something in the Great Valley's mud pools? How would she deal with stress?

I actually think I have read a fanfic somewhere where that happened. Considering how Pterano is already a father figure of sorts for the young flyer (due to the mysterious absence of Petre's actual father) I don't actual see there being much a difference in the interactions between the two. Now, if Pterano had stayed and helped raise Petrie in this scenery, then that could have lead to interesting changes indeed

. For one, perhaps Petrie would have grown to be a bit more outgoing and less fearful.

What if (perhaps in a depraved version of my already depraved fanfic

) Chomper was turned into a leafeater, while the other members of the gang were turned into sharpteeth?
