Petrie's Uncle Pterano. He's a fully grown male Pteranodon.

We first see him in The Stone of Cold fire, which is the last time we see him. He was banished into the Mysterious Beyond for 5 years. Since that time over 5 years has past so...hopefully we'll be seeing him again.

I really like this character because he's so charming and really quite different from any other
Land Before Time character. ^^

*******

Originally I had him talking to adult Petrie but decided not to. I liked the pose so I left as is.

Petrie.

I think I know that guy... :p  That certainly looks like an expression he'd give in that seventh film.  (What's with the grass behind him?   )

It's a grass monster! :D
No, I just had fill that stupid space. ><!!!

Can you believe that I didn't use a reference for this? It's true. Actually, I don't need one anymore. I've drawn Petrie so many times I know him by heart (that includes Pterano as well).

Ah, Pterano!  One of the more likeable villians of LBT.  Very nice fanart. :)

There are plants looking very much like those in the background of this picture. In fact some relatively common tussocks I've seen in Holland come very close to it.

Wow, that really does look like him! That's amazing that you didn't use a reference.

You know, I really would love to see a picture of Pterano and adult Petrie. Perhaps in an animated debate/discussion!

Oh, Pterano! Man, that is pretty good. What a typical expression; you've really captured it. Trust me, you've done better than I can. I can only draw the "flyers" from the side...
