Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

www.equestriaforums.com on e of my other sites I joined has a net worth of 4,766 not bad for a Friendship Is Magic forum.

There are literally hundreds of sites just like this.  They use an incredibly primitive and outdated algorithm from the 1990's.  It's basically just like pulling a number out of your ass and putting a $ sign in front of it.  They make money from ad revenue and every idiot website owner that says "oh look, my site is worth $X,XXX!" and links to it, thereby bringing free people to the website and generating revenue for the owner of the website valuer.

Case in point, according to this site, a website that I started years ago and never did anything with is worth $6,210:

I just registered this domain name, threw up a basic HTML template, and let it sit for 3 years.  If that's all it took to make a $6k website, I'd be a billionaire by now. :p

I don't know the forum I mentioned used ad's if they did than they hid them. And I know all websites get paid by ads. Companies say we will pay you X amount if you let us put our ad on your website. That is how tons of sites make there money. Youtube is worth over 857 million because of every single ad they play before a video starts. And I find it funny that a pony forum is worth more than this forum.
