Yes, I have decided to not only draw LBT-stuff but also expand my horizont a little ^^ Since I've joined a contest on DA, there will be some non-LBT art in the next few days I suppose. Also fanart of other shows (yes, I'm planning to draw that) will be posted here rather than in my main thread

Here's my first artwork! ~~(have to scan it yet so bad quality >_<)~~

The subject today is "Your favourite animal" so I went with a budgie

Since I like birds/parrots and since I do have two budgies, I figured I'd draw one of these

Besides, I've drawn them before when I was younger so it isn't exactly something I never tried before (but I still needed a photo reference

) Maybe I'm going to draw my little troublemakers as well... one day

I was playing with dinosaurs as well but they were very difficult to draw realistically so I abandoned the thought after some fails

Well, if I have a sudden inspiration, then it can be any kind of bird...

Today's topic was "my favourite season". Don't wanna start a rant here but the result is not something I'm proud of nor was it intended to become my entry into the contest. I was going for a LBT work but I haven't been capable of transferring my ideas onto paper. It's a shame I can't draw without references

For the sake of having an entry at all, I drew a sun with sunglasses, representing the season of summer. I don't have a favourite season; this was just something I didn't need a reference for.
So yeah, hope you like it more than I do

Next one will be something with food as I just found out... Oh well

~~PS: Will have to scan this one as well... my mum needs to scan it at work because we don't have a scanner at home >_<~~

Today's topic was "my favourite food(s)" so I went with this (thanks to bushwacked for the witty idea ^^):

The "F" is supposed to be Pommes Frites, the two "O's" are supposed to be cherries, the "belly" of the "D" is supposed to be a strawberry and the "neck" of it is supposed to be a noodle

Aww, thanks for the comments and wishing me good luck

The winners will be chosen at random though. It IS a competition but with the aim to help people get motivated and (possibly) inspired (which definitely worked on my end) and help them improve by expanding their artistic horizonts

It's giving me a good reason to draw stuff I usually wouldn't draw but it's also not much of a burden at all (maybe it would if I didn't have summer hols right now

). Besides, people see my work and check it out so I'm gaining some more attention and, possibly, permanent followers

I don't know what the next topic to draw will be yet so I'll have to surprise you this time, I'm afraid

Well, I think I announced a while ago that I'd be trying some fanart ofter other shows, didn't I? Well, here's my first attempt at non-LBT fanart.

I have drawn Violetta from "The Incredibles". While there are a lot of obvious issues with this drawing, I'm still happy I managed to make it look decent

Please give me some constructive critism on how to improve

I will try to realise that in a fanart of HTTYD that I intend on starting this week if school allows me to. It won't be uploaded anytime soon however

I got a safe amount of drawings that I can upload prior to it

That looks like a good effort.

I can see where you were indicating that you had some difficulty with the drawing, namely around the nose and the mask, but practice makes perfect. The remainder of the drawing looks good.

Something I made for a christmas-themed contest (there are lots of them on Deviant Art in general right now...)

Just a quick sketch without much detail. Just created this for the sake of entering and of course because it's christmas

I replaced the star on top of the tree with the new logo of Deviant Art as it seemed to fit pretty well =P

Also sorry for the blurriness. I didn't have an opportunity to scan it since the deadline happens to be... today

The very recent passing away of my dear budgie Emilio has inspired me to draw him as a sort of tribute to the five years I could spent with him together

I'm amazed my old Nintendo DSi shoots such "sharp" photos. That'll make it easier for me to upload stuff whenever I can't scan my art like right now

Here's yet another contest entry... Stormfly from HTTYD 2.

First off, I'm not really happy with this. The colours are often not correct and I haven't drawn the skin scales because I've lost motivation after a while and I ran out of time to finish this in time (the deadline was yesterday

). So err... hope you like it, I guess

Erm, about time to post something here again, huh?

I've been a fan of Naruto for two years but I've never drawn anything related to the show yet so here we go. Made a few sketches a long while ago and this one was good enough to colour so I did

Well, this is Hinata who is secretly adoring the main character Naruto but she's too shy

I adore her and I ship her with Naruto

This is a very simple drawing and I didn't take as much effort as I could have while colouring this because of that. Consider it a test of sorts since I'll more than likely do more fanart of this anime in the future. I have another artwork related to it that I'll show you next week (or maybe 2 weeks, depends).

I might also enter two contests on DA with non-LBT entries so there might be more to see here in the next few weeks

Well, I hate posting things outside the order I start working on them but this just popped up in my mind yesterday and I HAD to draw it and (to my surprise) it WORKED

Note: both pictures are taken under bad lighting conditions (unnatural light source). The coloured version will obviously get a better quality replacement as soon as I can capture a better shot of it.(EDIT: coloured version did get a better quality upload now)

So, I guess you didn't expect that, huh? Me drawing something like that? Well, I got inspired and, since I want to learn drawing humans anyway, I took on the challenge. After a slow start, the artwork slowly developed into this which is pretty close to the image I was originaly aiming at. There are some unfortunate issues with the colouring which I haven't experienced in a long time... smearing the black pencil of the lineart while colouring. I've used the same pencils I always use, yet I experienced this issue here. My only guess it that this happens when the lineart is still very young. I usually don't colour my art right away, sometimes up to a few weeks until I do... (even more visible now with the better quality upload)

Well, I'm still very proud of the result and I hope I will be able to draw similar stuff in the future with similar results.
