LBT caption picture competition game!

Hi, folks!

After my today kaboom in LBT Caption subfolder, I finally decided to post my ideas about making Caption folder more active and playful. I wanted to do that year ago, actually.

I thought: what about organizing something like Prompt competition-game in fanart/fiction folder, but in Caption pic format? Something like - one people posts picture, and others write quick improvised funny or impressive text-answer to it, like we do now! And then, people votes for the most liked or funny answer. And winner posts next picture, etc.

I even think to split each rounds on different categories, chosen by author of images:
- answers should be: 1) very short, 2) or the whole ministory should be written.
- and answers should be 1) funny, so we vote for answer that was laughed by us more than others, 2) or answers should be detailed, and contain deep sense to situation that was pictured in caption picture, contain the most interesting references to real life or other show, etc, so we vote for the most good made answer.

So guys, what do you think?

If you're interested, feel free to tell here how would this game be played better, what rules would it contain, etc. Anything that would make it better and always active!

That sounds like an excellent idea, Sneak!   I think what would need to be worked out is where to place such a contest.  Should it be in the Party Room or should I make a special standalone topic in the Caption Me area?  I do think some base rules should be clarified, however, something like this perhaps?

1) The game master (previous winner) will post a caption-worthy image related to the Land Before Time.

2) The game master will announce (in the same post) if he wants captions that are:
..........a) Short;
..........b) A mini-story; or
..........c) Either

3) Competitors will have the ability to post caption responses for two days from the post.  There shall be a limit of two captions per competitor.

4) At the end of the two-day period (two days after the time the caption was posted) the game master will announce that it is time to vote and the competitors shall then have one day to vote on the winner; provided:
..........a) No one can vote for themselves;
..........b) the game master can only vote to break a tie; and
..........c) The game master cannot compete in the round he/she presides over.

5) The winner of the round will then become the new game master.
