Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

hello Gang of Five! allow me to introduce myself:
my user name is Tails77, im a teen living somwhere in western PA and I have been a fan of LBT since I was little. I consider myself a geek/nerd hybrid with a love of all kinds of lore and pop culture.
my general intrests are: LBT (obiviously), video games (of all kinds), movies, history, and various table top games. LBT has helped me through a lot of tough times, im bipolar and autistic so sometimes I "hulk out" but im usually very gentle and freindly, you have this series to thank for that! LBT set up a lot of my beliefs and so I value it as the most trasured thing in my life.

im going to set up an "ask me" thing and I'll be checking it every day though the holidays, feel free to ask me anything! :)

That one guy who writes LBT fanfiction and accidentally makes them five times longer than he'd originally intended.

... I just have one question about this sight...
I understand the need to ask someone if you can use their OC, but hat about larger copyrighted works?
(example: my imagination uses the character Tails from the Sonic franchise who, in my wild imagination, is a SPARTAN 5 from the Halo series, if I wanted post a fanfiction involving that would I have to go to the companies that own those materials and ask to use them?)

no. fanfiction does not require person to get permission to use copyrighted works. it is after all fan fiction. your story would go into the random roleplay section, as it involves characters other than Land before Time characters.

Welcome! There’s also the Written Word section under “ The Arts” Tab, which might also be a good fit for your non-lbt fanfic.

thanks! I was simply confused because I have seen the roleplays and I have no intention of joining any of those any time soon (maybe when I work up the courage)

just one more question, does the rest of everything said apply to the story even if it does have LBT characters (because while there IS a lot non-LBT related stuff the characters ARE there)

As long as the story contains LBT elements (thus making it a crossover between LBT and other universe(s) ) you can post them as a LBT fanfiction. :)

We do not separate pure LBT stories from those containing more or less "cultural contamination" (as rhombus would put it :D ) though if LBT is not the major element some people might not be interested in reading unless they like the other universe(s) too.

Either way, feel free to post whatever you've got :DD
