The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I wasn't exactly sure where to put this, but I've added a new page to the land before time archive.  It is an extensive land before time snapshot gallery.  Here, you can download large, high quality images for desktop backgrounds and/or screensavers.  I'll add new images often so, check in every now and then to see if there are any more images.  This took me all day today so I hope you like it.  What do you think of it?  Is the background a bit much?

on the homepage of lbtarchive.co.nr, click on the image gallery link on the top of the page to see the snapshots.

EDIT:  56k warning!

The background is fine.

Suggestions:  Limit the number of columns you have...I have to scroll even with a screen width of 1200 pixels, and that's not typical of most computers.  You have approximately six rows now, knock it down to four.  Also what would help is a header which tells the viewers which LBT film the images came from.  Offhand, I honestly don't know which film the ones you currently have came from.

Oh.  LOL.  My atypical technology is getting in the way of everyday people's lives again.  I always forget that most people have to scroll.  My mouse has a technology that does all the work for you so you never have to scroll.  I didn't even notice.  I'm afraid that significant modifications are going to be difficult.  I have the code all screwed up.  I was barely able to get it to this condition.  I'm afraid that any wording I put into it will not be aligned correctly.  I will try though.

Okay.  I got it fixed so it's aligned perfectly and has only 4 columns.  As for the text, no can do right now.  It gets really screwed up when I try it and I have no idea how to fix it.  It's probably cuz I'm tired.  I haven't been to bed yet!  I'm sure I'll figure it out in the morning - I mean, when I get up around 6pm.

I finally found out how to add text so it's all aligned.  How does it look now Petrie?  Is this what you meant?

Well yes and no.  Yes, you've put the film it came from, but I was thinking more on the lines of simply grouping all the LBT 9 pictures under a line of text that said "LBT 9" and then put all the images.  Skip a line, and then go and write "LBT 11" or something and put all those corresponding images there.  I wouldn't worry about what time in the film the picture was taken from, just to keep things simple.

Like that....its actually pretty simple to do with a <table>

I did it that way, but to be honest, it didn't look too good.  It was a great idea, but it just won't work with these pictures.   It ended up looking like it was made by a first year html student who got a D in the class.
