The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Unreal Engine 5 was released to the public earlier this year.  If you haven't seen what people are doing with it, then you are missing out.  It really is something amazing.  Here's a video by ColdFusion (Highly recommend checking out their videos.) that shows what's possible.

I'm looking forward to what Unreal can bring.  This will be a very interesting time in gaming.

Real-time ray tracing is gonna revolutionize how the next gen looks. Graphics/textures are already basically photorealistic so there's not much possible progress to make on that front, meaning lighting/reflections will be the next big step in visual fidelity. I interviewed Tom Petersen of Nvidia at E3 2019 and he breaks down the (at the time new, now it's gonna be in most upcoming titles) technology:
