Request for Feedback on the 2022 Fanfic Prompt Challenge

Good evening, everyone!

First of all, I would like to apologize for the delay in getting this post together.  I had originally planned on polling the forum's fanfiction community in December, but real life matters has pushed this back until now.  As all of you may have noticed, the level of participation in the fanfic prompt challenge noticeably declined last year.   This general decrease in output further culminated in only four stories being submitted by authors for the annual forum fanfic awards.   Due to these events, I wanted to get feedback from all of you before I open up the 2022 Fanfic Prompt Challenge in February.  Your feedback will directly guide me in determining the best format to use for the year ahead.

With all of that in mind, I would like your feedback on the following questions:

1)  Are you planning on participating in the fanfic prompt challenge this year?

2)  If so, what are some prompts that you would like to see featured? (You may list multiple suggestions)

3)  Would you prefer the same format as last year, a return of the one prompt per two month period format of the first few years, or a different format altogether?

4) Do you have any additional suggestions for the fanfic prompt challenge?

I look forward to all of your feedback, and I hope that we can have plenty of exciting entries in the year ahead.

It's becoming a similar story with the fanart prompts. A lot of regulars have either left or are too busy with other things to participate. But to answer your questions:

1) If time and creative motivation allows, I'd like to start particpating in the fanfic prompts if they are to go ahead this year. The thing is I'm a lot less confident in my writing compared to my art and thus feel a bit iffy about uploading fanfiction, but I suppose that's what the prompts are all about, right?

2) I haven't got any particular prompts in mind right now, but I can have a look through previous prompts and potentially discuss any ideas I come up in the discord chat.

3) Seeing as I haven't participated before, I can't really comment on what format I prefer, but the bi-monthly prompts seems to work well for fanart as it gives people a bit more time to get their entries in.

I hope that helps a little bit. I want to get myself a bit more out there with creative stuff and prompts are a good way of doing so, so it would be a shame to see it come to an end. Of course it depends if it's worth doing them based on participation, so hopefully we'll see some others take part this year.

I'm sorry to say that I haven't had the time or inspiration for fanfictions lately, so I'm not planning on participating in the prompts this year. Best of luck to those who are, though!

1. I am going to try and participate in at least one prompt this year. It mostly depends on the prompts and my creative motivation (not to mention how slow I can be when it comes to writing).

2.  At the moment I have no suggestions for prompts but I'll message you if I manage to come up with any.

3. I actually prefer last year's format as it allowed for more flexibility in writing the entries.

I don't know  how much this would help, but I look forward to what this prompt challenge will be like.
