I agree with Petrie. The only internet service providers here are:
1) One cable company
2) One phone company
3) Maybe some high-end ones that I don't know about
4) Long-range connections like AOL
I am in a large urban area so naturally there is a lot of selection for internet.
My cable company provides 5,000kb/s (theoretical) download speed for $35 per month, 10,000kb/s for $50 per month, or 25,000kb/s (with unlimited monthly bandwidth) for $100 per month. Obviously I'm on the $35 per month plan, which is plenty fast enough for anything I do. I need faster LAN much more than I need faster internet. 25,000 kb/s seems unbelieveable to me, as that is almost half the speed of my wireless LAN (54,000 kb/s). I couldn't imagine internet being that fast
