The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Mine outta be easy.  Let's see, I'm a July baby which makes me a cancerian.  I was born in '86, the year of the tiger according to the Chinese zodiac :^.^:.
This is going to sound strange...but when I first saw your username I thought "Cancerian" had to do with the disease cancer XD

^ Actually that had been my first thought in the beginning too though I have the "excuse" of being no native speaker :lol
If I would go by my zodiacs I would be a "librarian rat". Librarian (if the word even exists with reference to the zodia Libra; which I doubt) would also be an ambiguous word, but I would really like that double meaning.

Honestly, the first time I glanced at the username "Cancerian Tiger" I really did think it said "Cancerous Tiger" and I was like WTF?  I had to be sure what I was reading and of course it didn't say that, much to my relief.  I must say that username would be a little.......odd. :p

There was a comment you made that made me mad.

I was just never able to express it properly, it was that, "I have an excuse being a non-native speaker" comment.

Yes, I know it sounds dumb talking about this when it happened just right when I came here, but still, that comment just really made me go;  <_< WTH?

It was meant to be a little joke (therefore the laughing dinosaur). "Cancerian" is of course not a word a non native speaker is likely to be confronted with and though I may have heard it before the zodiac meaning did not sink in until now. I apologize if that comment came across as patronizing. It wasn't meant to. I thought it to be a joke at my own expense.

The name Aves (pronounced Aevs) was created by a friend who was contributing a character to one of my stories back in high school

I later adopted the name for my fox character, hense the name Aves the Fox (though the characters full name was/is Aves Willis Longfeather)

Sorry if there was any confusion caused by my screen name .  I know it's a bit...odd, but I felt my screen name should be something that describes me personally.  Actually, I was going to go with Cera's name, but since a banned member had used that name, it could not be used again and I would not want to be mistaken for a previously banned member :bang.  Yeah, I know mine's a bit complicated but I'm glad the confusion is gone B).

That would be odd.  Such a screen name would make me appear to be one who like to plant viruses in computers or something :lol  .  Heck, I do not know how to plant a virus to save my hide :lol.

That brings up a good point. Character names are popular username choices, and when a user is banned and obviously not coming back, could the username come back as an option. The same has happened with Ducky.

I'm one of those! :D
I thought of mine after I had left an online gaming community I had been apart of for some years. I suppose I didn't have anything special in mind about words "grunge" and "cat".

More than likely it is. ;)  I have one of those type accounts floating around here....the main board account.  You can find it if you look for pre-2005 messages.
