My Fan Characters

I decided to draw some fan characters. And I will post them. They were drawn by hand with an HB art pencil on a regular sketch pad. They were also edited a bit with an eraser just to make it look neater

Anyways, my first character:

This is a compy I came up with. I feel he would be very sarcastic and cynical, because that is funny. He tends to be the voice of logic and reason. He is also a pretty sweet guy and a good friend to have around.

I am not sure what his kind would be called

And I imagine his voice sounding the same as Guido

This is a styracosaurus character. Now you know why I made the thread "What would you call..."

anyways, he is a character I like. He is a lone Styraco male. The one thing he wishes he could have is the chance to be a father. He is very good around kids and would gladly accept the responsibility of being a baby sitter. His kind personality usually masks the loneliness he feels, being family-less. I would imagine him to be a smokey grey colour, with black marks on top of a wonderous display of orange and amber on his frill.

I have other characters I plan to post, believe me.

Your drawings are beautiful

Especially your Styracosaurus character is interesting for me, as a Styracosaurus plays a central role in the story I have been writing for a long time now. Quite a while ago I made a little drawing with two different versions of what that character might look like. This is it:

*gasp!* New fan characters! Surprise, these next three are sharpteeth!

These two were the first fan characters I ever made. They are a grandfather and grandson. They were inspired by This picture. These two I guess you can say are mirror images of littlefoot and his grandfather. They are a steel-blue in colour. The grandfather is very protective of his little one. These two were made because I didn't really like the way sharpteeth are done in the movies now a days. (Random battles that are easily won/escaped). The Grandfather was based off Redclaw, and the grandson was based of Chomper

This is another sharptooth character of mine. He got the nickname fireface because both sides of his face are burned. These burns resulted in his blindness. His nose is his greatest sense now. He can sniff out any dinosaur. His jaws are packed with power, like any adult sharptooth. Because of his short arms, he's learned to use his jaws as a versatile tool. Why his face is burned? That's a secret only he and I know

Your drawings look really good. I really wouldn't want to mess with any of your sharpteeth and I certainly agree with what you are saying about the newer sharpteeth. There is an own thread on the matter and mentions of it in countless other threads.
Do you have names for your sharpteeth characters already? Are the scanned images the original size of the drawings or are they enlarged? Do you use pencils of different hard- / blackness for your drawings?
The one and only piece of constructive criticism I can offer (not to slander your awesome work but to help further improving your pictures) is about the nostrils of the sharptooth grandfather. Set at the very tip of his face and (unlike in case of your other characters) without any line to "separate" the nostril from the outlines of the face it looks just a little bit difficult to figure out. The eyes of that character combined with those teeth which protrude from his mouth look just awesome.

Hmm. I must say you are right about that nose

I'll try to fix it! As for names, I haven't really thought of any yet, except for the nickname Fireface. And I really only used one pencil for this all

I lost the others.

And you made a really good point in your thread! Anyways, my sharpteeth aren't really made with the thought of them being villians. Yes, they still eat meat, but they aren't completely merciless and unreasonable (As long as you know how to communicate

). I actually have another sharptooth character in the works that makes agreements with herds of dinosaurs, offering protection in exchange for the bodies of those that die, so that he may eat.

I have a name for the grandson, again this is only a suggestion but I'm thinking something along the lines of Charger or Crusher....

I'm still thinking of a name for the grandfather, but when I think of one, you'll be the first to know!

WARNING! CHALLENGER APPROACHES!

Okay, my final Sharptooth. I now have enough for the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. ANYWAYS! This is a character that most call "Death" or "The specter." He has a name: Thanatos. You're better off calling him Specter. Phantom works too. He is, like chomper, bilingual, and has a deep understanding of the balance of life and death. He specifically goes for the sick, old, or dieing, but does not harm any young ones. I don't like how he came out, though. His head feels to circular and bald. May have to fix that...

Note: His head, hands, and feet are white. The rest is black. His design is based after the reaper. Get why they call him death?
