The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

The Lion King and Kimba

So, what's your stance on it? I'd also like to know this is seemingly the only thing people want to discuss about The Lion King these days.

I strongly believe TLK is not a rip-off, and I have proof, but more on that later.

Unless Kimba, the White Lion is also based on "Hamlet" then no, The Lion King is not a rip-off. In anycase, lions have always been seen as kings (King of the Jungle) so if Kimba is also seen as a prince/king (I don't recall if he was) that doesn't mean the Lion King was ripping it off. The name is pretty pointless to debate, as Simba means lion in Swahili. It's not just Kimba with an S.

I'll admit that maybe there's inspiration there, but rip-off? No.
