Are you toony?

Most of you probably have seen my MSN name that says "Arvens is toony" and probably wondering what the hell I mean.

: Simply put it, I'm sure we've all grown up with cartoon characters and have favorites. List 'em.

In no particular order, I watched all of these shows in the late 80s/early 90s. I'd say by 7th grade I didn't watch them as much (1997 onward) and have recently turned back to them and found out just how much I enjoy them.

Darkwing Duck
Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies
Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show
Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers
Tiny Toon Adventures
Care Bears
Inspector Gadget
Captain Planet
Smurfs

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I'm sure I'm missing some I've overlooked off the top of my head.

I didn't watch many movies or cartoons throughout my life. Some of the cartoons I watched are likely to be unknown in America. They are sort of educational productions for kids the titles are somewhat difficult to translate so my translations give only a rough idea: "Once there was the live" (about the human body), "Once there was the human" (about history in general), "Once there was America" (about American history).
Some cartoons I saw which you will know are

Ducktales
Darkwing Duck
Duchula (not sure if this is the actual English title)
(and some others of which I really don't know the English titles).

To sum it up, I don't think I can really be considered toony.

We all seem to like DW.

Darn shame most of the stuff I remember is no longer on tv anymore and there's no dvds or anything of them.

Animals of Farthing Wood! I'll underline that one right away! Even though I have to admit I never saw all of the parts that form the complete story. Perhaps the only case I know of a movie being better than the book that gave the story.

This isn't by any chance the same show as "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in the states? Sure sounds like the same show.

I've never seen Denver the Last Dinosaur but I like the theme song.

Well yeah it is but the funny thing is...we British almost never got the original Turtles cartoons! Coz of that one word... NINJA. The BBFC (British Broadcasting Film Certificate or sumink along those lines) said that it was unfit for kids in Britain to view because it was called Teenage Mutant NINJA Turtles! So, to get around the problem, it was renamed HERO Turtles so it could be aired on British screens. The content was absolutely fine...nothing wrong there but because of the name, it wasnt gonna be allowed on TV. How nutty is that?!

How toony are we talking here, a lot of my favorites were serious cartooons.

2. Sonic SatAM (also known as the serious Sonic cartoon, and yes, they did manage to make a serious one.)
3. The Gummy Bears
4. Tale Spin
5. The Transformers (the original series)
6. Duck Tales
7. The New Adventures of Whinny the Pooh
8. ReBoot (computer animated series, but still toony)
9. X-Men (the 90s animated series, it was actually better than the new movies)
10. Spider-Man (the 90s animated series. A heck of a lot better than the new movies!!)
11. Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers
12. The Pirates of Dark Water (a very dark and serious series, but still animated)

I think the only one that has a dvd is Garfield and Friends, and then it's just the first season. -_-

Denver is available! Try using Amazon.com. I found a 3 video box set of Denver on Amazon and I was soooo tempted to get it! But money issues kinda went against the idea!

There are so many cartoons I'd wish they'd bring back either to air or for DVD release. I'd drive my bank account into the ground trying to get them all! PMSL!

Ahhhh! Gargoyles were THE best! I dunno if I have seen season 2 coz I just watched them when they came on but I used to watch them nonetheless. I think they're on one of the Disney channels towards the latter part of the day but I can't say for sure since I don't have Sky. Wanna see it again! :^.^:
