Petrie's mother looked at the sound of the voice, a bit surprised to see anyone fly & climb up to her nest.

"Hello, nice to meet you folks." She said looking at the new arrivals. "You have not been here long?" She asked.

The young flyers got behind their mother, not sure of the new strangers and the way some of them looked, especially since at least 1 looked like a type of sharptooth. She patted a few of them, "They look nice, not dangerous at all." She said to her kids.

Petrie had been resting while laying down but stood up as the new people appeared. "Hello me Petrie." He said not to sure himself and a bit unsure and afraid.

Upon seeing the other flyers reactions Longtail bowed his head in respect and said to Petrie "Nice to meet you. My name is Longtail." He then giggled as he then said, "Although I'm sure you can guess why." as he swung his tail back and forth.

He then stood up and answered to Petrie's mother "Yes, we've only been here for a short time, and I am the only flyer in my traveling herd. I was hoping to meet other flyers, I'd be nice to have another friend."

He then turned around and said "Oh yeah...almost forgot...this is Dante. Don't worry about how he looks...he's harmless...couldn't hurt an egg."

Petrie's mother nodded, "It is nice to meet you also. I didn't know sharpteeth could be nice as you." She then started to walk closer to where the edge of the nest was, "Are there others of you down there?" She asked looking at those present. With most of her children, except for Petrie hiding behind her or huddled close to her.

Petrie bowed back in a similar manner. He nodded to what Longtail said, "Me see. It good name." He said happy to meet another flyer. "Me only flyer among me best friends. Many flyers here, my family and others." Petrie said, waving his hands first to indicate his family then a bit vaguely to where some of the other flyers nests were that he knew about.

Petrie's mother then turned to Longtail still smiling, "It can be a bit lonely to be the only one of your kind in a herd, but most of the people here are friendly." She said, pausing to think to herself, except certain ones like that threehorn and she momentarily stopped smiling but went back to smiling again before she continued, "And there are many flyers here like Petrie said. I'm sure you'll enjoy living here. There is plenty of food, water and room." She said happy to also meet new friends.

After letting the others talk, Kaga called from the ground below, "Hello there. My name is Kaga. It is nice to meet new people. I think I'm gonna like it here."

Longtail gave a sigh of relief after hearing Petries mom speak. he then said "That's good. Sounds like this valley is a wonderful place." Longtail then smiled at hearing Kaga's voice from down below and asked Petrie and his mother, "Would you like to meet the rest of our herd? I'm sure they'd be happy to see you all."

Petrie's mother nodded while smiling, "I would like that. How many of you are there?" She asked, She then looked down at Kaga and waved. "Shall we go down to meet the rest?" She asked those present in the nest. Her other kids were not sure of the strangers, noticing a few were of the sharpteeth type. She patted her other children, "It's ok, they are friendly." She said. Some of them started to feel a bit easier, seeing the sharpteeth seemed to be friendly, or not hungry at least.

"Easier if we go to them then them come to us." Petrie said.

Mim was resting on the ground with the others, but remaining mainly quiet for the most part and letting the newcomers introduce themselves and do the talking.

"Cool. Oh, and by the way, there are...Let's see...Kaga, Hunter, Strafe, Snork, Longtail, me, and Sy. I think that's all, right, Longtail? If I missed anyone, make sure you fill in the blanks. Meetcha down there!
Dante flipped off the spire he was on, nimbly spinning and flipping through the air towards the ground. Landing gently on his feet, he smiled up at the others and waved...

"Good morning, Petrie." Littlefoot greeted is friend.
After introducing themselves, snork and Strafe glanced up into the sky at the approaching storm.
"It looks like it will be here soon." Snork said. Maybe we should wait it out in the forest."
Littlefoot nodded and agreed, "Sorry we couldn't stay longer, petrie. I'll see you later."
As Littlefoot led the group toward the trees, he said, "Maybe we can meet Cera after the storm is over. THey usually don't last long here."
"Sounds good to me." Strafe replied as she followed the young longneck and the others toward the safety of the trees. They arrived right as the sky opened up. big drops of rain began to fall but everyone stayed dry under the canopy of the leaves. Strafe lied down on the ground next to Kaga while Snork sat down with his back against a rock.

Longtail smiled to Petrie's mother and said "Perhaps after the storm is over we can talk a little bit more. It was very nice meeting you." He then spread his wings and flapped down to catch up with the others who had started to walk towards the forest. He quickly joined the others, and landed neatly on Hunters back as it began to rain.

She smiled as she felt Longtail land and she asked "So what was it like meeting other flyers like you?"

Longtail almost laughed and said "It was one of the greatest feelings in the world!" And after this silly storm is over, I'm going to go flying for a while with Petrie."

Hunter then looked over at Dante and asked "So what did you think of the flyers?"

Raindrops pounded down upon him, washing away the dirt and dust from his lon journey as he walked through the soggy green meadows of the Great Valley. The old swimmer looked around as the low clouds which hid the peaks of the mountains. he needed to find one of the locals. There was somethign he had to know. Dispite being hungry and thirsty, not to mention tired, the old swimmer trudged onward, stopping for nothing. Finally, he could not stand the thirst or hungar any more. He settled down by a lake and began to drink the cool water. The swimmer was lonely. He had done things that he had come to deeply regret. Sometimes, he even felt that he didn't deserve to live. The swimmer looked out across the wet landscape and saw two longnects (littlefoot's grandparents) together by a clump of trees. Deciding to ask them what he wanted to know, the swimmer stood up and made his way over to them.
"Excuse me." he spoke up in a gravely voice. "Um, can I ask you something?"
The swimmer then explained, "I am looking for someone. He is a swimmer like me but younger. I need to know if he is here."

Petrie's mother nodded, "Be careful, we'll talk again later." She said happily while waving to the new comers.

"Me see & play later." Petrie said.

Then they saw the rain start. "Come kids, let's go to the back of the nest. I'm sure we'll see the others later." Petrie's mother said as she and her kids moved to the back of the nest well away from the rain.

Mim traveled with the others. "Hopefully it won't last to long." Mim said, at least it's not during the cold times now and it does help the green food to grow." She said to the others.

Grandma longneck was eating a bit from a tree. She had just finished swallowing and was about to bite off some more leaves when she heard the voice, she bent her neck down to about eye level to the newcomer, "Who is it, perhaps Grandpa or myself know of the person, or if not there is a herd of swimmers who nest not to far from here." She said, looking briefly to Grandpa Longneck.

"The person I'm looking for may have been traveling with someone else. A spikethump perhaps. His name is Snork. Have you heard anything about him by any chance?" inquired the swimmer.

"Well" Littlefoot said to the others. "My mother died right after the big earthshake and I met my friends soon after. We traveled here together and were reunited with out families. We've had a few adventures since we got here."

"Oh?" asked Strafe curiously.

"Yeah." Littlefoot explained. "Once we even raised a baby sharptooth that we rescued from egg stealers. We named him Chomper."

Littlefoot then told them of his other adventures.

"Sounds like you have an exciting life." Strafe said. Normaly, she would have been a bit skeptical but from her own experience, she knew that just about anything was possible, especially since she was friends with more than one sharptooth.

Grandma Longneck nodded, "He is here, apparently he arrived with a group of his friends including a spikethumb, not to long ago and they were going around meeting some of the residents here to get to know folks since they are planning on living here. They all seemed a very friendly group. Our grandson Littlefoot is showing them around. A female rainbowface is showing them around a bit also, though she's not been here as long as Littlefoot and we have so doesn't now most of the areas as well. They were headed to where Littlefoot's friend Petrie's mother nested so they could meet some of the flyers here," She said using her head to look and point over in the direction of where Petrie's Mother's nest was. "Is Snork a relative of yours?"

"Sounds like you've had just about as much excitement as we all have, Littlefoot. Oh, and from what I've seen, you're really lucky. Your friends are all such nice people, and you have this wonderful valley to call home..."
He said, smiling as he st next to Hunter...

Grandpa longneck smiled and said "Even though it is raining...I don't see why we can't help you find Snork." The elderly longneck stood up and nodded his head as he said "Please follow me, I'll take you to where they were heading last, if that's okay with you."

Longtail was shocked to hear what Littlefoot had gone through. It brought a smile to his face as he knew that he had something in common with the young longneck. He then turned to Mim and said "Oh yes...we plan on staying. There is no doubt about that!"

He then laughed a little as he said "Hey guys what did happen in that cave in the mysterious beyond anyway?"

Hunter immediately blushed and looked to the ground she was seated on. She then momentarily looked over at Dante with a blush on her face.

Dante, for his part, went bright red, looked at Hunter, and then looked up at the sky, blushing even more.
"N-Nothing happened. Nothing at all. Really"
He stammered...

"He is my son." the old swimmer replied quietly. "We didn't travel her together and I need to know that he is alright."
He had come to regret what he did in the past. having been banished from the herd for his treatment of his son, he had come to see the error of his ways. He never realized how much he had before until it was gone.

Strafe watched as the pounding rain gradually turned into a light drizzle. She rested against Kaga. They had been huddled together beneath the trees for about an hour now.
She asked, "So Littlefoot, who else is there for us to meet?"

The young longneck replied, "We should probably try to meet Cera alone first. Her father can be a bit hotheaded sometimes toward newcomers. Once everyone gets to know you, things shoud be alright.

"Huh" Snork huffed. "Let's hope he is nothing like my father was."

Mim nodded, "That is best, Cera is nicer then her dad, in my limited experience with her and from what I hear. I don't think he gets along well with anyone." She said in a calm voice. In her time in the valley she had learned what he was like and found things were better and more enjoyable once she learned Threehorn's patterns of behavior as to where he usually want and where he usually was a certain times of the day and then was able to pretty easily avoid the places he went.
