Hey all!
I thought maybe the Gang of Five could set up times to maybe play some PC games together, if we have any games or gaming interests in common.
First of all, I'll link everyone to a program called "
Hamachi". Basically, Hamachi will let us set up a virtual network and let us set up online games extremely easily, free of firewalls and all that clutter that gets in the way of making online gaming work properly.
https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/vpn.asp?lang=enHamachi works exactly like a home network, for those of you that have one. I have already set up the GoF Gaming network so all everyone else needs to do is connect to it.
Once you have Hamachi and you connect to our network, the network will behave Exactly like a LAN (Local Area Network) just like we're all in the same house. This means that to play online games, we just need to start a LAN game and go! Simple as that. B)
I have already set up a network on Hamachi, with the following information:
Network name: GoFGaming
Password: PM Me if you're interested. I will give you the password. I'd just rather not have it public, for security reasons.
It is all Case-sensitive so bear that in mind when typing it in.
The network is very secure and there is no way we can hack into each others' computers so don't worry about that. All the network will really do is let us chat and appear on the same LAN together, for gaming purposes. That's it. It's by far the easiest way to get online gaming to work these days though, with all the firewalls and whatnot. Also, the lag is minimal and performance has been great, from what I've tried out with Littlefoot Fan.
Here are a few games I'd be game for pulling out:
Serious Sam (any of them. I have all of them).
Diablo 2 (Expansion preferrably)
Unreal Tournament (any. 2004 preferred.) I have some great game modes for UT 2004 for a lot of people, if we can get a few people interested (including 4-team Capture the Flag, which is Awesome)!
Turok 2
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2
Halo
Anything else that anyone can think of.
If anyone is interested in playing Serious Sam or any UT game (except UT 3) but you don't have the game, let me know and we'll figure something out.
