Well Pokeplayer, if I really knew what your true intentions are, I would make you EXACT COPIES of the LBT movies that you can burn to DVD and send them to you so you wouldn't have to use DVD rips, but I hope you can understand that I have no way of knowing what you'll actually be doing with them so I guess you're stuck with rips. Besides, each movie since its quality hasn't been reduced would be rather large (around 4.2GB each). I doubt you'd want to download that.
The program I hold, Pinnacle Studio 10, has an adaptar that connects to my VCR/DVD player and routes to my PC. However, there was a problem when I first got it. For some odd reason, the adaptar overloaded my PC, making it restart itself. I nicely got around this with a 4-port hub. (That will come in handy for a few other things.) This program easily records the video as it plays and does a fantastic job of it in the end. (Picture and sound are just SO perfect. Even the lines are in sync with the movie.) A normal LBT video at Good Quality ends up taking up 3.6 GB of space with this thing. (Wouldn't be surprised if Best Quality made 5 GB on it. Note that it does it in DV when it starts.) However, that can be reconverted perfectly into Dvix at less than 600 MB without customizing it yourself. (Even at this quality it does a fantastic job.) After that, you can easily get rid of the 3.6 GB file that it originally made with the simple "delete" method. (Right-click, delete and all that junk.)
It can even transfer it into other types of files you prefer. Even PSP and iPod compatible files.
It's done a fantasic job with both VHS vids and DVDs. It can even take vids you make yourself and bring them straight to a DVD Disc. I have yet to test that out, but I'll tell you how good it works once I get around to it.
You can even create your own music vids with it. I plan to recreate my "Unfaithful" vid with this baby when I'm done with other things.
The program along with the adaptar cost me $50.00. It took up a nice 5 GB of space, but with all it can do, I say it's worth it.

The only downside is how long it takes to save the file on my computer. (Longer than the movie itself. I know it has TONS of frames to go through but come on!) It also takes time to start up, but once it gets going, it runs REAL smoothly. (Really makes WMM look like a load of crap.)
Can you believe all I got for just $50.00? I'm still shocked by it all myself.
