The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

This is old news but I figured I'd bring it up.  You can get high(er) quality videos on youtube by adding &fmt=18 to the end of a youtube URL.  Sometimes &fmt=6 will work as well.

Won't work on every video.

A lot of the videos I've seen will have a "higher quality" link below it.

I've tried it and and sometimes one of those works and sometimes not.  I've not tried a bunch of different videos so I"m not sure how large of a percentage it will work, but it certainly does not hurt to add one of those at the end of the address then try the other to see if it'll work.  If so the better quality is nicer to watch.

Thanks for this info, but how did you find out?

I'm psychic. :p

Like I said, its old news and its been reported on before so I just tried it and it works in most cases.  It won't work if the video uploaded to youtube was 320x240 pixels or lower to begin with.

I guess that would include some nes and snes videos, and other things.

I guess so.  Some of the older stuff as well doesn't have the hq link.
