Mr. Thicknose looked up at Grandpa Longneck and shook his head. "No, I am sad to say I have no news about that young flyer." He then turned to look at the others who have been traveling with him.

"Do any of you by chance know where Longtail is?" Mr. Thicknose asked. Diver, Mia, & Rhyn shook their heads.

Zal shook her head also, "I've not met him yet so I am unsure, though I assume I would have no news about where he's keeping himself." She said.

"What does he look like?" Blue-eyes asked looking at some of the others.

"Similar in some ways to me,with the same long tail." Rhyn said, moving her tail around a bit.

Blue-eyes shook his head. "You are the only flyer with a long tail that I know or have seen, how about you Scarface?" He asked looking over to where Scarface was.

I just know Rhyn and Longtail. That are all I can think about right now. Now, I would say, let¥s go there, to the meeting place.

"No. I won't do it!" Zaine shook his head violently at the thought of killing Longtail. "He's my best friend! I'd rather die than hurt him! I know that if I were in his position, he would never give up and try to bring me back. I can't let him down!" He stared into the spirit's eyes as he blinked a tear. "How can you give up on your son?"

Mr. Thicknose looked back at Scarface, "We are at the outermost parts of the meeting place. You can tell from all the arguing going on over there." He said and indicated a bit farther on where the main meeting place was.

"Same as always. " Mia said shaking her head.

Mim nods, "Some things never change." She said agreeing with Mia.

Although closer to the arguing Grandpa Longneck sighed as well and asked Mr. Thicknose a question.
"Most of the young ones are here with us along with the new arrivals...but it seems thte valley is split between waiting out this storm, or going to find Longtail now...what do you think would be the safer option?"

Soul sighed and said, "Zaine I haven't given up on my son. Far from it, but at this point in time there is just nothing I nor you can do. I in truth came to teach you a lesson about your feelings. In order to help Longtail you have to let him go...forget about him, and show him that when you two face each other, you will have the courage to kill him if need be."

"The better option is to find the cause and deal with that. " Mr. Thicknose said.

"As bad as it may seem here, it's worst out there. " Zal said.

Blue-eyes nodded, "There are areas of not much fish there. Luckily there are some cave fish we can still eat. "

Zal nodded, "You would not like it out there, from what I've seen."

Mr. Thicknose nodded, "Sounds like, the Great Valley was very little effected." Mr. Thicknose said. "Unless the cause is found out and dealt with it may spread." He said.

"I wonder if the cause is trying to target THE valley, and I don't mean this one." Zal said.

"Or if they are after something else." Mr. Thicknose said.

(OOC: I'm not sure what Zal or anyone who was ouside the valley may have see, if anything, of the possible cause of the storm and what the conditions are really like. Or how soon you wanted the valley mentioned.)

Grandpa Longneck nodded his head in agreement and said, "I will inform everyone then." He then raised his head once more and stated:
"EVERYONE PLEASE LISTEN! After talking it over with Mr. Thicknose and several of the newcomers and we've come to the conclusion that we must first find the cause of these problems, and then deal with those affected by it like Longtail. Who else here agrees?"

A flyer spoke up and replied "I think that's the right option, but we still need to think of the young ones...especially those who are Longtail's friends as they are sure to try and sneak away and try to find him."

Grandpa Longneck nodded and said in conclusion "Then we need to find someone to watch over them while we finish sorting this issue out." He then looked down to Cyrix and asked, "Would you mind?"

The rainbow faced smiled and replied, "Nothing would make me happier. But it seems one of them have already gone missing where's Zaine?"

Dante spoke up, leaning casually against a tree and watching his friend.

"How's it going, Arius?"
he continued, stepping out from the tree's shadow, and walking into the clearing with a small smile on his face...

Zaine noticed Dante but didn't turn around to face him. He couldn't bear to let him see him like this. "I don't get it Dante. Why do all of the adults want me to forget about Longtail? I mean first Kor, then the others, and now Longtail's mother. I don't want to let go of him, and I can't bring myself about to kill him either." He closed his eyes, sobbing. "I don't know what to do!"

Mr. Thicknose looked at Grandpa Longneck, "It seems likely he snuck away to try to find and maybe try to save Longtail himself."

"I can go and look for him.' Rhyn said.

"Maybe he go to mysterious beyond, get lost, can't find way back." Petrie said, getting scared at the thought.

Dante nodded.
"I know how you feel. When they told us that, it...it tore me apart. I can't wrap my head around it... Why would they want us to do the thing that they know will hurt us the most? I won't bring myself to kill him. No matter what, I'll stick with you. But I won't let him go. Ever. He's the first one who I've really rusted since Arius, and I won't let him go."
He said, looking at Zaine with a firm resolve in his eyes...

Soul sighed quietly and stepped over to Dante and Zaine. She looked both of them over for a moment and then said, "I suppose it would help if you knew why you two are so attached to Longtail. Do either of you know why my son is so important to you? It is because you three are bonded together not just by your friendship, but by the three spirits that protect you...that would be us."

Soul took a 'breath' and continued "You three are all different, but at the same time only a small part of each other. When the three of you are together don't you feel that nothing can go wrong? Or that during a fight, your victory is certain? That is your spiritual bond working together as one."

She then looked downcast as she then stated:
"But now that bond is shattered...you two will have to rely on each other, and the others who will be traveling with you. But above all now that you know...you MUST learn to let go without letting go. You'll understand what that means when the time is right. Do either of you have any questions?"

Grandpa Longneck nodded to Rhyn and said, "Yes that is a good idea, Petrie would you like to go help too?" He merely asked so the two flyers wouldn't be alone during such dangerous times.

Rhyn looks at Petrie, "Come on, it'll be safer together. And if we get into any danger or see danger I can whistle." Rhyn said.

"Maybe it ok, if we stay in air." Petrie said, a but not sure.

Rhyn nods, "ok, and well above tree level." Rhyn said.

Petrie finally nods, "ok. We have look see. Others may need help and unable to tell anyone." He said.

Petrie stood up and clasp his hands into fists and puffed out his chest to psych himself up. He then launched himself into the air with Rhyn close behind, who caught up to him.

Zaine nodded. "Thanks Dante. I'm glad I can count on you." He then looked back at Soul. "Yeah, I had a feeling the three of us were bonded together like that, but I can't imagine it's completely shatered. The two of us are still here, so maybe it's only weakened, but we have to believe we can bring him back. Somewhere inside him there is still good that is trying to fight this dark corruption." Zaine then thought to himself.

"But what if she's right? What if we do have to actually kill him? How is that going to free him? No! I can't think like this. We are going to free him. I know it!"

Just my point of view here, Ecco said. I think it would be more needed to find Longtail and to bring him back, before anything else. You know why?... I¥ll tell you why. Everytime you grown ups argue and try to solve any problem, the kids already did. Doesn¥t it seem.... a bit strange to you all? I really think the younger ones are much smarter then you all. I am sorry, but that¥s just my opinion.

Scarface thought about what Ecco just told. In one point you are right,... the grown ups argue to much. But I think that¥s just because they worry about the kids,... and are worried. So they just seem to argue that long, because they can¥t decide, what¥s the savest way for them and special the kids to solve a problem.

"Very dangerous to get to." Zal said.

"As for bringing Longtail here, from what you say he sounds like he's totally corrupted. It would be the same as bringing Red Claw here and expecting him to be nice. at least till the cause of the corruption is taken care of. As for arguing if it does continue I'll just go and see about taking care of the cause myself." Mr. Thicknose said with full seriousness in his voice.

"I'll go with you, and I expect many of Blue-eye's herd here will want to go also." Zal said.

"I think you would not be the only one from the inhabitants here who would be going." Mim said.

Cyrix indeed nodded his head in agreement with Mim's last statement as he proclaimed "If you are going Mr.Thicknose, then so am I. Longtail is my nephew after all...and what sort of mentor would I be if I just left him out there."

Grandpa Longneck nodded solemnly to what Zal had pointed out. He then said, "Well it seems once again, we have reached a two way point, some here want Longtail brought back, and others feel we need to find the cause of this problem before any rescue can be made. Then at such a hard time such as this and although this will cause a very big commotion I suggest we separate some of our herd to search for the cause and the others to find Longtail...does anyone else agree?"

Soul sighed and said, "Unfortunately we don't have much time left to talk you two...just know this...when you do find Longtail...and trust me you will...you will have to fight him...there will be no way around that."

As her form began to disappear she uttered one more phrase: "Let go of everything you fear to lose.

I agree with that, Ecco said. Though I¥ll be in the group then, who is searching for Longtail.

Chomper continued sleeping on Littlefoots back.

Scarface looked over to Blue-eye. What do you think is needed to be settled in the first place? The searching for Longtail or for the cause of the problem, he asked.
