Littlefoot looked down for a while.
Then he raised his head and started to speak.

So... Blueberry and I was looking for Ecco. Because we didn't know where he had gone, we decided to look in those caves.
As we got inside, we started to search around for him. We even yelled. But Ecco was nowhere to find.
Blueberry wanted to search further inside, so we did.
After a while... we ran into something horrible...
Some of you haven't seen it, but there is this dark liquid thing... I hadn't seen it before either...
It was all over the cave tunnel, on the walls... on the celing...
It was very scary...

As we couldn't get any further, we started to head back...
As we turned around, something called our names.
As we turned around, a pair of evil, burning yellow eyes stared at us from within the dark oze!
And from it, a voice echoed...
... It was Longtail! Or... I am not sure...
Whatever it was, it treatened to kill us...
But then Blueberry started to speak with it, as if he had spoken to Longtail.
As he did, something happened...
The eyes started to change in color...
And.. We could hear him! Longtail! We could hear his voice!
He sounded as if he was in great pain... and very sad...
And he mentioned something about guardians... and his uncle Cyrix...

Littlefoot had started to breath more loadly and he could feel the cry in his trouth.

Then... It happened.
First, Longtail dissapeared, and the evil was back again...
At first, it got very cold. Then the dark oze formed itself into a large thick mist.
Blueberry and I ran for our lives. I think I've never runned so fast and for so long time before...
It... almost had us... If it werent for Blueberry... who found us a way out...
Then it dissapeared as it came in contact with the light from the bright circle.

Littlefoot finished his story.
"That's why we bumbed into you Cera. We were so tired that we couldn't remain standing..." he said to Cera.

"And now I belive Blueberry is gone to speak with the grownups about what we saw." he said silently.
A tear fell from his eyes... And he was quiet again.
Then he rose his head again and swallowed.
"But, I know Longtail's alive! We could feel him in there! We need to find him!"

Not long from there, Blueberry finished about the same story for Cyrix, Zaine and Virgil.
He too, was crying were he was standing.
He couldn't take the expression of Cyrix.
"Cyrix... I..."
Then he felt over of exhaustment again, and leaned against Zaine's body.

OCC: ( Blueberry has told "about" the same story for Cyrix, Zaine and Virgil. I'll not write it again for the sake of long post.)

Ducky was walking together with Spike and the threehorn Shera looking for some others. Then she heard Littlefoot speaking.

"Spike! I hear Littlefoot, yes I do." She said with a big smile on her face. "Let's follow his voice!"

"We probably should" grinned Shera, seeing the extreme happy reaction of ducky. She thought about what it would be like to have a brother, even if it's not one of your species.

"He's that way, I think" Shera said, pointing at a big tree.

Spike nodded hapilly and started moving already. Ducky smiled "I'm happy to hear him, I didn't see him since the big earthshake just before."

"I understand" Shera said in response to Ducky.

They talked on until their eyes caught a group of dinosaurs, their friends. They heard the last part of Littlefoot's story, Ducky had teary eyes.

They remained standing there for while, not able to say anything. Just looking at the rest of the group.

Mim nods, "Just be careful, and using that stick is a good idea, it should make it easier for you to get around till your leg as healed properly." She said.

Blue-eyes looked at Scarface, "Are you sure that is enough, I could get another if you are still hungry once you are finished with the current one." He said.

"If the grown ups here insist on arguing, maybe we indeed should find this, Littlefoot, of yours." Zal said.

Rhyn had her fill of swimming around and came to be bank to relax a bit.

Spike stood there with a sad and concerned look on his face, just staring at the rest of the group... He couldn't believe how close Littlefoot and Blueberry had come to death... The thought of losing his friends made him very sad... A few moments passed... "Eeeeyyyeeeegghhhh," he moaned, a few tears falling down his face...

After hearing Littlefoot's story Cera was wide eyes as she stuttered:
"Wow..." She then looked over at Littlefoot and said "If this had come from anyone's mouth but yours, I'd be calling them crazy!"
Cera then stood up and began pacing in a circle. Truth be told after hearing this, from one of her best friends, about how another was lost to this...darkness...she was rightfully confused. Cera continued pacing for several more minutes just thinking about what Littlefoot had told her.

A tear then rolled down her cheek as she turned to Littlefoot and replied:
"NO! There is no way Longtail would be taken over by some silly black stuff! There is just no way! He's just as stubborn as any Threehorn...I know this personally! How could Longtail just let that stuff take him over?! I-I..."
Crea was silent for a few moments and she said "We have to go find him and bring him back!"

After hearing Blueberry give his story...Cyrix stopped walking and immediately grasped a tree to keep himself from falling over. He was breathing heavily as if he'd just run around the entire valley. Cyrix's eyes were unfocused and he was looking straight at the forest floor.

Cyrix was shaking, and he knew it...he then looked up at Zaine, Blueberry and Virgil. He gave a weak, almost sad smile as he stepped over to the trio, he then rested a hand on Blueberry's back and said:
"You are brave....to have ventured into that cave. And even more so to try and bring my nephew back to us...only love and friendship can break the crushing darkness around Longtail, and together I know without a doubt we can do it...all of us, as a family."

Cyrix then sighed and took a deep calming breath and then said:
"Come...we still need to reach the meeting place. I'm sure the other elders are waiting for us."

After taking a moment to steady himself on his feet once more, Cyrix with a renewed smile on his face began to lead them back down the path they were traveling.

Dante shook his head grimly.
"It's worse than I thought. If the darkness can...can take him so easily, then it..."
He trailed off, then, thinking about what a threat he could become to those he held so dear...
"Cera... There's something you need to know. There's...I've been keeping a secret from you. There's something...bad hidden inside me. If I stay too close to that darkness too long... I may lose it. If that happens...Run. Get as far away from me as you can. Don't look back. I wouldn't want you to see me...like that. Can you promise me that?"

"Perhaps...perhaps our bonds will be strong enough. No matter what, I'll do my all to save him. As my repayment for both my crimes against him, and against Dante. If it comes down to it...I'll gladly sacrifice my life if it will save him..."
He said, grimly resolved...

Zaine sighed. "The only thing I'm worried about it whether all the adults will want to find Longtail. Kor was there before, and he suggested that we forget about him because he was a worthless hatchling. I hate to say it, but I think some of the adults were agreeing with him. That's why I left the meeting. I couldn't stand to here someone trash my friend like that." He then looked towards Blueberry and whispered, "Don't worry. Everything's going to be ok. It always is in the end."

Zaine then turned to Virgil. "You made need some help if you're ging to try and reason with Longtail. I think Cyrix and I might have the best chances of breaking through to him since our bonds with him are so strong. Of course, none of it will matter if we can't find him."

Cyrix however began to laugh at Zaine's comment to Virgil and he only laughed harder as he thought about it. Cyrix the commented:
"Zaine if I know Longtail as well as I think I do, then fnding him woun't be a porblem...corroupted or not, Longtail will most liekly seek us out eventually. He'll want to 'talk' to us I'm sure."

Cyrix frowned and asked "Wait...Blueberry...you said Longtail mentioned me...and the Guardians? What exactly did he say?"

"Where is he likely to be?" Zal asked.

"Maybe heading towards here with his friends and some others." Mr. Thicknose said then he looked at Rhyn, "How about you fly over towards the other main way to get here and we'll walk this way and see if we can meet them. They may be more willing to talk instead of argue and listen then those arguing so called grown ups." Mr. Thicknose said.

"Sounds to me like those grown ups should act more like their kids." Zal said.

"I have thought so about some of them on more then one occation." Mr. Thicknose said, smiling a bit at the half joke they had sort of made.

"Ok." Rhyn said and flew off to look to see if she could find Littlefoot or any others and she wondered how long till her friends Diver and Mia returned to the Great Valley, or were back now.

IC: After that what Littlefoot said Ecco suddenly started to feel sad, very sad. He shed a tear, knelt down in front of Littlefoot and wiped away the tear of him as he began talking to him in a soft tone: Dont worry. I am sure, no, I know that we will find him and bring him back to normal. Then he lifted up a bit the chin of the longneck that he looks in Eccos eyes and continued talking: Trust me it will be alright. Ecco smiled a bit and patted Littlefoot gently on the back. Then he stood up again and turned around to talk to everyone: I will find Longtail and bring him back. No matter if it would cost my life or not. I have to go to the meeting place to talk with Cyrix. Ateo, if you want you can come with me, then I can inroduce you to the others. With that he turned around and was starting to leave the others to search for Cyrix

It is indeed nice to see you walking again, Ruby said with a smile.

No, thank you very much mate, I am fine, Scarface answered with a smile.

"Thank you Zaine. Sorry about that..." Blueberry said as he got up on his own legs again.

He then stood silent for a while.

"...By the guardians light...we live to fight...to protect the one....we...hold...at night... that's what he said". He said and looked at Cyrix.

When no answer came, he turned away.

"Let us go." he then said and started to carefuly walk his way towards the hill. The meeting place was not far.

Littlefoot smiled back at Ecco. He then stood up. He tried to stand on each leg.
"I think I can go now." he said and played around some with his forelimbs.
"I know he is Cera! But this is different... Please try and understand!"
He then turned to Ecco again.
"And Ecco here is right. We shall go search for him, and we will find him!"
he said as he stomped his right foreleg to the ground.
"I want to see my grandparents... I'll go with you Ecco."
"Besides, I think Blueberry is up to something..."

Rhyn circled around the area around where the meeting place was to see if she could find Littlefoot or one of his friends.

Blue-eyes nodded, "When you are finished and have had enough water and feel rested and washed if you wish we can continue." He said.

Mr. Thicknose & Zal watched Rhyn take off and fly away. "Lets try this way, it's one of the other main ways many use to get here." Mr. Thicknose said as he walked off with Zal walking along with him.

Mim nodded, "Just try not to run or jump, not till your leg is fully healed. Some walking with the stick should be ok, and may help. Plus you won't be stuck in 1 place." She said to Spiral.

The reason Cyrix hadn't responded yet was because he was thinking about what Blueberry had just told him. He then muttered quietely to himself "To see the light...at the end of the fight...and know that it warms our hearts." Cyrix then smiled a broad and happy smile as he ran to cathc up to Zaine and Blueberry

Cyrix then commented and said "We have nothing to worry about boys...Longtail may not be the same now, but he's figthing the darkness with everything he's got! now let's get to the meeting place so we can figure out what to do."

Cera smiled as she could see the confidence in Littlefoots eyes and she stood and said "Yeah! Come on we don't have all day!" as she fell into step behind Littlefoot and Ecco.

Zaine thought about what Blueberry had said. "Guardians of light, protect the one we hold at night. I would sure like to meet one of these guardians. Maybe thy could help me become stronger. If only I were stronger, then I probably could have helped Longtail." Zaine then looked towards Cyrix. "Yeah you're right. Longtail is fighting the darkness, and with our help I know he can defeat it."

Blueberry and his company had reached the meeting cirlce.

As they got closer...

"...Looks like they're running a gentle, fair discussion as ever! Don't you think?" Blueberry said loadly with a sarcastic smile as he approached. His voice were filled with irony.
He had seen how the grownups discussed matters before.
Seeing them argue about this new situation made him very angry.

Zaine sighed. "Well, that's the adults for you. They just keep arguing away until we solve the problem for them. I hate to have to do this, but I think it's for their own benefit." Zaine walked towards the middle of the group and yelled out, "EVERYBODY QUIET!!!!!!!! We have a really big problem on our hands, but don't take my word for it. Blueberry knows the whole story better than I do."

Grandpa Longneck was suprised not just to see Blueberry and Zaine, but to hear Zaine shout loud enough to get the arguing dinosarus to quiet down....that was impressive. Grandpa Longneck then said:
"I believe we should all listen to what the young ones have to say. After all none of our ideas were very clear to begin with." He then looked down at Blueberry and said "Okay, go ahead and tell us what you saw."

Cyrix sighed as he watched Zaine queit the herd down and smiled in response as he stated "Well that was nice Zaine...very well done."

"I won't, ma'am," Spiral responded. "It feels so much better to be back on my feet...I really hate being stuck in one place," he said with a smile.

Kariya gave him a look. "Just be careful, otherwise you will be stuck on the ground until that leg heals," she said, looking completely serious.

"Yeah, I know...You don't need to go that far, you know," Spiral said. Sometimes she scares me, he thought.

"Oh, I know. It's fun to watch your reactions to stuff like that, though," Kariya responded, laughing slightly. Spiral just grunted, knowing that she'd probably carry through with her threat if he wasn't careful. "So...What now?"

The Land Before Time - "Dawn"
