Absolutely.
I must say that watching the good LBT movies does make me somewhat sad, which may be one of the reasons why in fact I watch them only very rarely. However, I'm positive that if it wasn't for that kind of sadness (which struck down really hard when I "rediscovered" LBT in December 1998 and watched LBT 2 to 6 within a few weeks) I would not be an LBT fan. It is difficult to pinpoint all the causes of that sadness or the reasons why it seems to be so important. I'm generally an optimistic and happiness loving person, so it doesn't make much sense to be so taken with something that makes me sad to some degree. Then again somebody once said that melancholy is "the joy we derive from being sad". Maybe it is something along those lines, but that is certainly not the full explanation.

I used to anyway. Haven't watched LBT anything in a while to know if I still do. So many movies and so little time.

Yeah, I do too. Especially the original. It is heart-wrenching yet sweet to think of the Gang, how they formed, and the trials they went through to be where they're at now. LBT is truly one of only a handful of meaningful animated films outside of older Disney classics.

I'm a little surprised, but yet I'm not by the similarity of the reactions.
I went through a LBT marathon few weeks ago (I watched all the movies within one week or something) and I cried so often and still when I just hear a song of a movie I can't do anything but sigh so sadly and fight back my tears...
I wonder if there is a reason for this kind of reaction.

That sounds familiar

My own LBT marathon and "rediscovery" of the land before time was back in December 1998. As for the reason for this kind of reaction, there are several threads about this here in the GOF, but I doubt that there is one single reason for enthusiasm for the land before time. Not only will the reasons of land before time fans differ, but I also suppose that to a good extend it is a matter of emotion rather than reason

Well, when I went into Land Before Time rediscovery mode. I did feel sentimental rewatching the first movie, though I did not have any reactions similar to anyone here. Which doesn't surprise me since I'm not an especially sentimental person. (I've only actually cried at one episode of a tv show. That is that I can remember, there may be a few more, but I can't remember any of them.)
