The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

An extremely critical Microsoft Windows vulnerability has surfaced and
it being actively exploited on the Internet by virus writers and scam
artists.  This vulnerability gives an attacker full control of your
computer, and could expose any data it contains.  The scheduled release
date of an update from Microsoft is January 10, leaving us critically
vulnerable for the next week.   All Windows versions are affected
including 98, ME, 2000, XP and 2003

Using Internet Explorer to view a web page with an infected image will
cause the virus to infect your system.   Infections have also spread
through instant messaging programs and third party advertising on
legitimate web sites.  Opening an infected file in other Internet
programs may result in you computer being infected.

This came from my college computing services.  Be careful online until the patch comes out!

If you go to http://www.microsoft.com you can download the patch for the WMF security bug.  It's right on the main page at the top...you can't miss it.
