Power Rangers RP

Well, the last time we tried this idea it kind of fell through, so my co-gm, Kor, and I talked it over and we decided to try this again. For those of you who have never RP'd before but are interested in this idea, please talk to either me or Kor and we will help you with any and all questions. This is a learning experience for both you guys as the rp'rs and us as the gms, as we are still coming up with many different ideas to make this RP run smoothly.

Anyway, this RP will be started in the Random RP Section because this will not involve the LBT Universe. I will provide a link to the RP which does involve LBT if needed. If the mods are willing to allow this in the regular RP section, then thank you kindly! Otherwise, it will be in the other section.

We are still working out on plot details, and Kor please correct me if I mess up, but the bottom line is Kor's character is a gold ranger, but obviously nobody knows that. He has stumbled upon the morphing grid, zords, a command center, and the remains of morphers from the previous rangers. He decides to fix them up and keep them hidden until he can find a suitable group of teenagers to have the powers.

Again, that is kind of a rough draft of the plot, so we will notify you guys once we have a clear plot figured out.

As you can kind of guess, this will involve humans. You create a human, and then you decide what color ranger you want he/she to be. We highly recommend that you use a ranger color from a previous series, but you do not have to be that specific character! For example, you can choose to be the Red Zeo Ranger, but you do not have to be Tommy. For all I care, you can be a guy and be the pink ranger, although why you would do that is beyond me. If you want, you can create your own ranger color, but please try to model if off of one of the previous seasons. I will post a link to the Power Rangers Central Database so that you can see every season, what they look like, their weapons, etc...

I will update with the character skeleton later, but those of you who are interested please speak up.

Character: When making a character, here are some things to consider. You may choose any ranger color/form from the previous seasons, but you do not need to be that specific character. For example, you may use the Green Zeo Ranger as your ranger type, but you do not have to be Adam. Any questions, don't worry! Just ask me or Kor.

If you want, you may use a color not previously used from the show and base it off a previous season. For example, you may if you choose play as the Orange Turbo Ranger, or the Purple Time Force Ranger, etc... However, if you want to create a ranger type, please base it off a previous season. It makes it much more conveniant for you to create and me to understand. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask me o Kor.

When you choose a ranger type, you will get two weapons. One will be a blaster/dagger, which everybody will have, and then one weapon other weapon of your choice. For zords, to make it easy, you use the zord that the specified ranger uses. However, if the ranger you choose to model after has more than one zord, then you may choose one of them. For example, any ranger from the Mighty Morphing can choose either the Dinozord, Thunderzord, Ninjazord, or Shogunzord fo their choosing. Again, any questions please ask me or Kor.

If you have no idea which ranger to model yours after, there is hope! Here is a link to the website with all the information you need. Each ranger type, color, weapon, zord, etc...

A couple general rules for characters:

* All of our characters, minus Kor's because his is important for the RP, will be high schoolers. So please keep them between 15 - 18

* I will allow two people to play the same ranger color, but not the same color and type. For example, two Red Rangers is allowed. Two Red Turbo Rangers is not allowed. etc...

* Nobody is more powerfu then each other, so no overpowered characters with secret psychich powers. Everybody will have increased strength, speed, and endurance when morphed, but unless your ranger specifically has a power, then please don't add anything. If you have a question about whether your ranger has any powers, either ask one of us or look it up.

* Each ranger will have a teleporter communicater, but please do not overuse the teleporter ability.

Short Bio: Zaine has lived an uneventful life for the longest time. He goes to school like ordinary people, does his homework, and hangs out with his friends. He has studied self defense for a long time and likes to use some of the philosophy in his own life. He doesn't like to start fights, but if he has no other choice he will do whatever it takes.

Ranger Type: Power Rangers in Space
Ranger Weapon: Ray Gun (1950's sci-fi style beam weapon pistol),
                                   Electro-saber
Zord: Space Car (1950's sci-fi style car with fins & retractable wings).
     Can fly & sealed for space use, has no wheels.  
Fighting Style: 5 animal style Kung Fu

Appearance: Athletic build, but hard to tell unless shirtless & flexes his muscles.   Fully clothed looks average.  Wears typical clothes, but prefers bright colored shirts, red, orange, yellow, ect.   Has reddish hair that is of the orangish in color & appearance shade.    

Personality: Quiet, keeps to himself, studies, draws, prefers not to act rashly, looks to think first before acting and think things out, unfazable.

Short Bio: Douglas is of American Indian descent, with some scottish.  He usually keeps to himself and does his various exercises at home, including yoga as well.  He has many hobbies, taking kung fu, yoga, free hand climbing, fantasy stuff, some sci-fi, dinosaurs, internet, comic books (collected into book form, not monthlies), some anime, .  His type and method of exercises focus on flexibility, strength and endurance over size increasing and as such he fully clothed looks like an ordinary person, rather then having large muscles since he does not do body building techniques.

A guy who's a pink ranger?      I can imagine he would be very reluctant to morph, and finding himself wearing pink, and maybe trying to hide it maybe.  Sounds like something from Dynaman.

Sorry about that, sometimes when posting here the cursor jumps to a random location in the window, must have been trying to work on editing the post and it jumped there and changed something in the wrong location without my noticing.

I thought the meteor hammer was closer to how a snake may attack then the more conventional weapons.  A chain whip or rope dart may be closer, but since edged weapons in power rangers don't do cutting damage, but seem to be energy damage, I thought a meteor hammer fit the spirit of the power rangers then a weapon that should be doing impaling damage.    Though instead of a rope I may say it's on a chain with small links, then he could parry with it too.

Appearance:  Thin, but muscled build, with his long, brown hair tied up in a ponytail, save for a long bang over his left eye.  Favors dark clothes, and wears two rings with red stones, one on each of his middle fingers.

Personality: Hotheaded, impulsive, sarcastic, and sometimes rather morose, he is a rather loose cannon, though his loyalty to his few friends is unquestionable.

Short Bio:  Kai was born in Japan, and almost as soon as he could walk, was being trained in the martial arts.  As a result of this, he grew up with very few friends, until he moved to the United States and met Zaine and Douglas.  He uses a unique morpher that has "assimilated" the data of the legendary Silver Ranger, and as such, is somewhat unstable, though it has not yet exhibited any ill effects.

I was talking to Chiletrek and he mentioned a few things I thought should be put here.  How about the seasons where possessions of a morpher or dino gem gives the ranger powers in non ranger human form?  Like Mystic Force, those folks can do spells in regular human form, the dino gems in Dino Thunder gives them powers in human form.  Should they be not allowed since they give those rangers powers in regular human form, which is NOT fair.  and I am a stickler for fairness.  

and with another wild force ranger here I may change mine a bit.  I like the idea of different types here.

There were others who had powers in human form, but not from their morphers, though that may not apply here.  No students of the ninja school from ninja storm, since they do have powers.  No genetic powers like in spd, ect.  Since it is not fair for some to have powers in human form and some do not.  I think it fits power rangers better if, like in most seasons, while in human form the rangers don't have any powers.  So I do have to agree with what Lbtfan13 said.

The main reason I gave Kai 4 Zords is that he has his own, weaker Megazord, which he frequently uses due to his Hotheaded impulsivity.  Mind you, he can synchro his zords with the others, and usually needs to, as at least one gets badly damaged most of the time when he goes solo...

@Starfall: In that case, I guess I can allow it. Just promise me you won't go too overboard with the zords

@Kor: I agree with your ideas about no humans from the Ninja Academy, but people can still use the Ninja Storm archetype for their ranger, just without the human powers. Same with Mystic Force, Dinothunder, and SPD.

Also, I appreciate your interest to keep a variety of ranger types, and you do not have to do this if you don't want to, but do you think you could make your ranger a different color? I know I said that two red rangers are allowed, but for the time being I would like to have a variety of ranger colors. You may still keep the zord, weapons, and Ranger type, just change the color. Again, you don't have to do this if you don't want to.

I"m a bit confused, you mean you have so many zords since most of then keep needing to be repaired since you keep getting them damaged in combat, or are you wanting to do the "6th" "other"  ranger type, or is it something else?

Kai's the 6th "Other Ranger", much like the Lunar Wolf Ranger of his era.
Mind you, he needs the multiples because he keeps getting one or more damaged, but he's the other ranger.

I watched the episode Once A Ranger again and from a line and what happens it got me thinking how the ranger uniforms get their design.  Not an important thing but I thought why no mention it.  

I don't recall the exact line but, the father of the red Overdrive ranger said he had reinforced the are of the grid where the rangers' connections to the morphing grid so the story bad guy could not disrupt it.  

I was thinking about that and if the overdrive rangers's connection to the morphing grid is all in one area, maybe each type of ranger's morpher has a connection to one area of the grid and the different colors of rangers could be a specific spot in that area.  It could be certain colors are easy to connect to or take up a larger area, and other colors are either harder to connect to or take up a very small spot in that area of the grid.  

Maybe a silly thought but just something that occurred to me after that line and the morphing grid was shown.

 Here is the bios of my Power Ranger OC, my apologies if it is too long, but I think it should be necessary. I hope you'll like my OC.

Name: Canis Starwolf.
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Homeworld: Sirius.
Ranger Color: Metallic green with black details, helmet has upper details that emulate dog ears (like the Shadow Ranger).
Ranger Type: SPD (In fact pre-SPD).
Ranger Weapon: Blaster for long-range combat and Wind-Saber for close-range combat (preferred weapon, similar to the shadow and ocean sabers). Holobelt to allow himself to be disguised as a human.
Zord: Simurgh Explorer (his own spaceship), it is bird-shaped.
Fighting Style: Kendo-like specialist that makes him very effective with the use of a sword. He is also trained in Sirian martial arts, that could be considered a mix of several Earth's martial arts.

Appearance: Canis is an extraterrestrial who has physical characteristics of both a human and a dog. He has a mix of blue and green scaly-like skin and long wide black hair. Well built body, he oftens wears a large dark green tunic, black pants and his Holobelt that allows him to disguise himself as a human.
 When disguised, he looks like a tall and strong white male human, short black hair, and even if the belt can also disguise part of his clothing it is always visible.

Personality: Brave and well trained that allows him to combat all the strange enemies he may encounter in the worlds he is sent to explore, but he is also very peaceful and warm-hearted, that facilitates his interaction with people, but still setting limits (for safety purposes).

Short Bio: Born in a world of proud warriors and great technological advancements, Canis grew getting knowledge of great values, combat skills and social interactions; he had a peaceful childhood and when he got enough age he decided to join the SP Academy to become a Power Ranger, he succedded and pass the academy with honour and became part of a team of special Scout Rangers, with a mission to explore habitable planets and their people so they could be protected against evil until they grow enough to become a part of their
organization.
 His current mission is to explore a planet with quite a unique record of encounters with alien enemy forces, and with known Power Rangers this planet is a prime candidate to become a Headquarters for the training and deploying of future peace defenders: Earth.

Not sure if anyone is still interested in this.  I have some ideas.  Not sure if some prefer me to post them here or in another thread.  Including another char I may do with or instead of my previous one.   Not the gold person (that is a secret), but another color ranger.  The version I'm think of, of the previous ranger colors, this version lacks a green, and pink ranger.  Though I could make up a color not used among rangers before that I know of (orange, purple) , not sure of the color yet, that is the last, and lest important part.

It may be a bit of a long post if I put all my ideas done,  including the sketches of a plot & bad guy.

 Yeah, this topic has been quite innactive, maybe lbtfan13 has been busy and I am still hoping more people will join. I myself has been very busy that's why I wasn't even able to post in the rpgs for quite some days .
 Kor, I look forward to see your ideas, and I think it should be fine to post them here since this topic is the one to discuss things about the Power Rangers' rpg .

If he uses wild zords they can get healed quickly, all they need is for the soul bird to sing and poof they are healed, so no time needed getting them repaired, can't repair wild zords since they seem alive.  & the soul bird can heal a zord quickly.

 It's more fair to say all rangers are equal in power, regardless of color.  I've never liked the parts where the polka doted ranger can beat the other 3-5 rangers even when they were all battling the 1 polka doted ranger together.  Not fair at all,or that 1 ranger gets the super mega weapons, again not fair to the others.  For those with a single zord the zords should be equal,  if one is allowed multiple, maybe a reason they can only use 1 at a time, or prefer using just 1 at a time, or each of theirs is weaker for some reason then others who have just 1 each, and if they can combine, assuming then can, the combined one is weaker then the  other ranger's mega zord, again to keep things fair.  This would require a second enlarged monster for the person to fight if his zords can combine into a weaker combined zord, either a new one for ever episode type like the main megazord fights, or a continuing villain like Tommy has to fight while in Dino Thunder while the other rangers fight in the Megazord.  I guess done by the producers so Tommy is not left sitting down & cheering on the 3 dino thunder rangers in the megazord since his seems unable to combine with theirs in the episodes I've seen of Dinothunder, maybe fixed later, but I"ve not seen dino thunder that far.   Maybe instead of 8-10 zords combining into a super megazord like I saw done at least once in operation overdrive where they had 4 other zords combine with the already formed megazord.  

Not sure why Disney seems obsessed with the idea of rangers having powers in human form.  But I'd remove that from most of the versions of ranger history as far as what is canon past.  If they had any special powers they may have been only in ranger form, as some finishing moves, like some past versions of rangers have had, though they hardly ever used them, almost never in some cases.  While some versions seemed to have no finishing moves.  Perhaps only Mystic Force has theirs, though that makes it maybe off limits, except with maybe very special limits.  


Hopefully no folks loosing ranger powers at the en dof the rp just cause that is what is done on most seasons.

Personality : outgoing, friendly, but quiet, unfazable (if other char dropped)
Hobbies : artist, likes to draw & sculpt, gymnastics, some fantasy books, films, studying about dinosaurs.  Likes to write very tiny, scuba diving (though prefers using a rebreather), play puzzle type games, including video game ones.    Gymnastics, reads palaeontology magazines, some anime & manga,
Short Bio : Has above average IQ.  Studies a lot & makes excellent grades.  She wanted to go for an unusual uncommon martial arts and choose Monkey Kung Fu.  When the time came based on her physical abilities and such her teacher suggested she study the drunk money form, instead of the others, as her first form to study & learn, her second being the Lost Monkey when she had learned the first well enough by his standards.  She is also a scaly (like a furry, but for reptiles & dinos instead), but has told no one and hides it very well.  

Maybe use only 1 of the 2 pc characters at the start and may introduce the other one later on in the rp.  Or drop one of them.

1st draft:

Grizlok – Destroy the human world, terraform it for his own desires of a world he would prefer, 1 city at a time.   He wants each continent to be themed. 1 for very expensive vacations.  1 maybe to bring back dinosaurs and other animals from earlier eras, a preserve sort of place, maybe divided up into eras.  1 for his private use, and some of the others he'll decide what to do later.  Maybe 1 as a private playland.  He uses mainly tech, but knows some magic, mainly alchemy & such (as a way to bring back & enlarge monsters for the expected zord battle)  

? moves into Rita's old fortress on the moon.  Has a space ship, but thinks why not use the stuff laying around since it is here and save resources on his ship.  .

Foot Soldiers – Putty patrol,    
     special agents -  tenga warriors. (not seen to often, but used some)

The usual at least partially comedic hangers on, ect.  Though 1 or more players may wish the make  create or play them.

Maybe the chars get their morphers from my older character instead of starting off with them, with  certain exceptions for a certain characters, not counting the wild force ranger getting 1 or more gem things before the rp starts & the dino char maybe finding a dino gem also before the rp.  Not sure if either would know what they found.   The Sp character may already have a morpher before he starts.  Not sure on the player's preferences, or the other folks' on their characters and the other co gm.  

Feel free to say your opinions and feelings on these ideas I've posted.  Best to discuss things here before the rp starts so there are no misunderstandings and some folks preferences & wishes being  posted.    

Not sure what others think of these ideas, sorry for the long post, but didn't want to double post.
