As some of you may know, I am in the works of writing a fanfiction entitled "The Adventures of Petrie in Threehorn Valley", the first chapter of which is already on this site and on Fanfiction. Shame that I haven't even written a word of the second chapter yet, but I guess it's a combination of laziness and a busy life...but that's not the point. The point given here is that I am in the planning stages of writing and arranging five original songs. So far, I only have the music and some lyrics in my head, none of which has been written down at the moment (thanks once again to my laziness and busy schedule). However, the first song in the story, entitled "Together As One", has already been written (both music and lyrics...well, at least the lyrics are complete) and is shown on that same first chapter.
Listed here are styles of the songs that are planning to be in the story:
*"Together As One", sung by the gang of seven, is just your basic LBT song...actually, it's not! It is more of a 70's-style song, featuring the basic rhythm section (keyboards, organ, guitars, bass and drums), as well as other instruments such as percussion, strings, and a horn section. Quite a killer opening tune once you eventually hear it...
*The next song is entitled "Find Your Courage", sung by Petrie, another character that shall remain nameless for the moment (it's not an original character, let's leave it at that), with other random characters popping up and singing backing vocals. The song is 80's pop-rock style, with instrumentation consisting of synthesizers, guitars, drums, and to top it off, a tenor saxophone solo, which seems to appear out of the blue.
*The third song is entitled "The Old Times", which is sung by an original character by the name of The King of Broken Sleep-Stories; his story is yet to be developed. It is an early-90's pop ballad consisting mainly of keyboards, synthesizers and drum programming, as well as guitar, bass, and a choir.
*Next, the villain song

. The song is entitled "The World Is Mine!", and it is sung by (who else?) the antagonist of the story, the rainbowface known as Mimus, along with other companions of his, who also play much of the instruments and sing backing vocals. Probably the longest song in the story in terms of length. A 60's soul-style song consisting of the rhythm section (piano, organ, guitar, bass, drums and percussion) as well as the horn section, including a tenor saxophone solo (At one point, I had actually thought about half of that solo being a harmonica solo, but decided against it.) The song closes out with a traditional 6/8 blues ending.
*The final song, entitled "(I Wish) I Could See You Again", is a emotional ballad; a duet with Petrie and Ducky, both of whom are in two completely different places at the time (we'll leave it at that). Instrumentation consists of electric piano, acoustic and electric guitar, acoustic bass, and an orchestra (strings, harp, French horns, woodwinds, and timpani).
That is all the songs I plan to feature. Another thing I forgot to mention is that on any of the songs Petrie is singing, he sings in perfect grammar, while still speaking the way he usually does. I feel this is something that is necessary to make the songs actually good, rather than songs that have potential but are then "ruined", so to speak, by Petrie's usual bad grammar.
Thanks for reading. Feel free to ask questions or send me a PM about any of these songs or features in the story.
