Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Hi, Sky!

I’m sorry this is coming so late; I’ve been having a lot of trouble with my Internet connection, so just getting to the GOF has been a hassle. The good news is, this year I finally have a star day card for you: :smile

I tried something a little different with this card compared to most of the cards I’ve drawn for my friends on the GOF, incorporating a few of the elements of the art style I typically use in the cards I make for family members. Namely, your three main wingtail characters are caricatured here as one of my trademark “card critter” species: the Party Amphipteres (pronounced “AM-fih-tare”; it’s a sort of mythical winged serpent or legless dragon), playful, hat-wearing flying creatures that appear on nearly all of my family cards. There is also the derpy moth filling in for the comma: goofy flying bugs are among my favorite stand-ins for small punctuation marks. :p Other than that, there is a simplified generic wingtail head, Fluttershy from MLP (I recalled hearing somewhere that she is one of your favorite ponies on the show), and a tree star.

So, yeah, it’s not a particularly elaborate card, but hopefully you’ll like it okay. Happy belated birthday! :birthday

I'm glad you like the party amphipteres (I admit I was a little anxious, knowing that not everyone shares my fondness for serpentine creatures). You also nailed one of the great advantages of the party amphiptere design: it's easy to make letters out of them. :p And yeah, the visual pun of making 'ptere-ified Star and Sky part of their own names (as well as putting stars in all of the other letters in "Star") was too good to pass up. :lol
