The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

What do you think of this little picture I made?  I used screenshots from LBT 3 and Microsoft Picture It to cut out the raptors from the shots.  The background is a photo I took inside Kiluea Iki crater at Volcaonoes National Park when I visited Hawaii during Christmas Break.

Thanks, I also have another pic with Sierra and Rinkus from LBT 7, the background is inside the Thurston Lava Tube at Volcanoes National Park.  This one isn't so good.  If you look carfully you can see the exit and a few tourists and I don't think I cut out Sierra and Rinkus too well.

Yea, still pretty good

Some shadow effects might make it look more real :P:

I do agree that shadows would certainly help, but I admit that I'm no artist

Very creative approach; I don't think I've seen much of this kind of work related to LBT.  It's true, the cropping of the second picture wasn't perfect.  I've used photoshop, and I know how much of a pain it can be to crop pictures really cleanly though, so I won't hold that against you  :p

Great progress; I like the idea

Nice ones!
I'm sure I'd love to visit that park myself. I've actually never seen a volcano (except perhaps for a few which have been silent for mileniums).
I have one question about the volcanoes you saw. Was there any obsidian (Obsidian is a black stone which seems like black glass and chips into sharp edges)?

Yes, if your talking glass then you must be talking about the cooled down lava right?  I heard from the rangers that you have to wear closed shoes whereever you hike.  You have to be extremly carful around the Puu oo (poo oo oh oh) vent, which has been active since 1983, there are a lot of places where you can trip and cut yourself.  Here's a picture of Puu oo I took earlier that morning from a small plane.  One way to start off a New Year.  :DD

Cool photo manipulation.  :D  :D  I saved the first one so I could use it for a background.  The cutouts in the first certainly aren't as noticeable as in the second, and like others have said, shadows in the second one would help too since they're much closer to the front of the picture.

Here's the first pic again, this time I added a shadow to one of the raptors in the front.  I didn't know how to apply a shadow to the other one, mainly because its feet aren't visible.

This is the second photo with a shadow applied to Sierra
