When do you think we'll reach 300?

I take a look and see that we are currently at 286 members.

So, when do you think we'll reach 300 members?

I'd say sometime this year.

we'll get there in the next couple months probably. we'll reack 150k posts this year as well..

Most probably yea. Sad though that so many members join and don't tell anything about themselves.

I guess its a good guess to guess that we will reach number 300 some time after reaching 299 and before 301

Note though that the number of active posters is considerably lower. Nevertheless the number of people with 100 or more posts has increased quite a bit throughout the last year.

As Malte said, just coz we hit another centurian figure doesn't directly correlate to the number of active posters. As cool as it would be to hit 300 (of which fact I have no doubt we will

) i would be nice to see 300 said posters actually writing something from time to time

It could be sometime this year, depending on how fast we get new members. But we'll get there when we do and not a moment sooner.

If I took out those who didn't validate their accounts (meaning they never responded to the email sent) then it would take longer. Seems we've gotten quite a bit of new blood as of late (must be some big LBT thing going on drawing them here) I'd say May.

Honestly, I would not be surprised if we reach 300 members before the summer starts. Hey if we're lucky, maybe those who are not as active will come back!

removing those who never have never validated within a reasonable say a week, month ect, may also free up some names also. But I guess that is something the admin would need to discuss for a while before making a final decision.

The non-validated accounts were deleted, but the number given at the bottom of the page was not corrected as a consequence. Right now we have 270 registered members (0 posters included).

I guess it combines registered and unregistered. I bet it even has the few banned members included, just in case you guys want to bring them back.

I did a little counting.
If I have not miscounted (and the numbers may change right now while I type this) the GOF has 92 members of 100 or more posts (41 of whom have 1000 or more posts). There are 49 with 20 to 100 posts, 13 with 10 to 20, 61 with less than 10 posts and 63 who never ever posted a single time.
If we take 20 posts as a value from where we assume a member to be more likely than not to stay around (not exactly accurate as of course members with hundreds or thousands of posts have left too throughout the history of the GOF) we can assume that we have somewhat less than 140 active members.

So roughly half our members are active.. thats actually a pretty good rate to have given our numbers..
