"Lt. Cole Mercer of the SPVDF," Mr. Bigmouth said.
"Great, as if we didn't have enough s--- to deal with," Strut grumbled.
"Stripetail, the execution was set for today. It is too late to stop it."

The Bull trucker followed the Mystery Machine back to base. He disembarked along with the other personnel.
"Damn, that was some good driving," a Hawk SPVDF soldier said.
"Well, I am trained to drive 18-wheelers and have been doing so since I was 21...and I'm like 46 now," the trucker replied.

Meanwhile, the Great Valley, it was nighttime and two of Ceela's archers and two SPVD troopers were leading the two condemned (a female Pomeranian and a male Raven) to the execution plain.
The plain was very bland, just some trees growing in an area that was cleared of grass. Some wooden posts had also been sunken into the ground. Ten Great Valley archers stood by with their bows ready. Several broken arrows and rocks littered the ground. A large pile of vines rested on a rock near the archers. Torches stuck in the ground illuminated the area.
A vine noose dangled from another tree.
An SPVDF captain stood by the archers. "Jennifer Allison Greene and Edgar Rue, you two have been sentenced to death for the fatal stabbing of Maj. Eugene Dahl. Do you have any last requests?" she asked.
"Some of Haresh's fruit tart would be nice," Allison said.
"Just some last words," Edgar said.
"Very well," the captain said.
"Well, I...I am truly sorry for what Allison and I did. I know what I did was wrong and I accept my punishment but this war pushed past the breaking point. We are not trained soldiers; Allison is a a clerk from a Surf Point store and I am a gas station attendant. Our deaths will not bring Major Dahl back any more than they will end this war but they will offer closure to his family."
"Are you finished?
Edgar nodded.
The captain looked over at Allison, who had finished eating her fruit salad - a substitute for Haresh's fruit tart. She then looked at Edgar. "Very well, proceed."
The four soldiers led the two condemned to the posts, blindfolded them and bound them to two separate posts.
They then stepped back.
The captain turned to the ten Great Valley archers. She took a deep breath. "Archers, fire when ready," she said, her lips quivering. She had presided over other "Inglorious Hotel" executions before; each was just as difficult as the next.
The ten archers raised their bows and simultaneously fired a volley of penthium laced arrows.
