Setsuna then followed him out of the library.

Mr. Bigmouth finished his experimental laser weapon and went over to The Professor. "Professor, mind if I examine the device?"

(Galena)

"Did someone say wanton destruction?" Captain Fairchild asked as he flew over the group and unleashed a hail of armor piercing incendiary rounds. The last remaining vehicles fled as soon as they saw him bearing down on them. Several of his rounds caused another armored truck to explode as they struck their mark.

Paul and Anton each took out a small car. Luckily, they were able to destroy them before they launched their anti-tank missiles.

All that was left was twisted metal, smoldering wreckage, rubble and craters.

"Okay, let's get a move on!" Rime said as he piled back into the APC.

(En route to Neptune City)

The APC that Ms. Swimmer and Ceela's troops were riding in struck a mine and was immobilized. Suddenly, rocket and machine gun fire and even spells bombarded the vehicle.

Ceela and her troops grabbed their bows and took cover behind the APC and returned fire.

Ms. Swimmer had actually managed to create a small firewall that melted the bullets. But they did nothing to spells or the shockwave created by the rockets. Luckily, all of the saurian soldiers had ingested so much essential water that they had a healing factor.

As shown by an archer who pulled a bullet out of his arm and fired and explosive arrow through a window, causing one of the soldiers to fly out.

The rest of the convoy moved ahead but a Humvee raked the brick building with heavy machine gun fire, killing some soldiers hiding behind the wall.

Nick Nani and Shaggy hurried into Shaggy's SUV, who had been fitted with a few rockets and anti-IED armor.. " Alright guys I'm going to Floor it' Shaggy said.
- The Guardians had flown ahead of Tarrax and Sara ' Lets hit them hard ": tarrador said letting forth a flurry and earthern spikes
Volteers sent our balls of electricty, while Cyril pelted the enemy with shards of ice.

Sara flew alongside Tarrax, keeping the lookout for any air enemy troops as he primary focus and secondarily any ground troops.

Jason, Guilmon and the others with him moved from place to place to try to provide support and reinforcements where needed by nearby troops.

Major Lockie came on the scene and raked the enemy troops with 20 mm fire. "Guess I came just in time," he said.

His 105 mm cannon boomed as he leveled a structure concealing several of Chong's troops.

An enemy soldier with his clothing on fire stumbled out of a burning Humvee that had been struck by an anti-tank rocket. Dr. Zanasiu killed him with a well placed shot even as several bullets narrowly missed his head.

One of the new recruits was killed when a sniper on a rooftop shot her in the head. Deimos returned fire with his own volley, killing the sniper.

Ms. Swimmer hurled a bolt of fire at an enemy trooper, setting her on fire. A bullet struck her in the side but she just pulled it out, letting the essential water healing factor do its work.

The convoy en route to Neptune City had fought their way through the ambush - at the cost of several soldiers.

When they arrived at the outskirts of Neptune City, they were disheartened to find that the bridge was destroyed. This bridge in question led straight to the core of Neptune City. While there were other ways to get there, this was the fastest way.

"Now what?" the Bull Trucker asked as he looked at the bridge.

the weather turned and it began to rain hard, forcing the coalition to return to thier vehicles.. Terrador continued the slow process of building the bridge..
_Stripetauiil called the leaders together in a large SUV in the middle of the convoy ' Now, everyone know the plan? once the bridge in built we climb over it and spread out over the city.." He spread out a map of the city..

"Defenses are coming online," the Whiptail Lizard said.

Several rogue living planes from Galena and Osmiridium took off from the Neptune City airport.

"I'll fly ahead and clear the path," Major Lockie said.

He then noticed several self propelled artillery units were aiming at Terrador. Even though he was flying, he was such a huge target that it did not take dedicated anti-aircraft weapons to hit him. The most dangerous part was that these units carried 155 mm mustard gas shells.

Inside Major Lockie's hold, the volunteers who were assigned to reload his weaponry were taking a break.

[Break's over!]

One of the reloaders, a large Boa Constrictor, got up and muscled a 105 mm shell to Major Lockie's cannon. "Large cannon's locked and loaded!"

Two other reloaders slid the clips containing the 40 mm shells into the twin 40 mm cannons. "40 mil cannons loaded!"

Spent shell casings were scattered all over the floor but a small crew used shovels and brooms to sweep the shell casings out the side disposal ports.

Major Lockie's 105 mm cannon boomed as he destroyed one of the vehicles with a single shell.

He then unloaded the his 40 mm into the rest of the vehicles.

Unfortunately, one of the vehicles got off a shot just before it was destroyed; the shell arced towards Terrador's face.

(En route to Neptune City)

Lt. Martin lit her afterburners and sped towards Neptune City. The rain did not affect her in the least.

She had a full load of anti-air missiles along with the experimental "Firestorm" ground attack missile slung under her belly. This missile was a long range missile that actually split into seven separate explosive darts, each capable of destroying a lightly armored vehicle.

She shifted her airframe slightly - the harness she wore to carry the missile chafed her.

Nicl and Nani looked out of the SUV windows as Shaggy continued moving into the city. thee buildings were a mixture most of them looked like they were inhabited by naminals, with a few hangar-like places which told that living planes called them home..

tarrador turned as the shell flew towards him but befoore it could hit him it was knocked out of the air by a gust of wind. Cynder flew over to him " you ok? she asked as Cyril blew up the shell with a wel-placed blast of ice. "Thank you Cynder.. " Keep your eyes open, these things are dangerous.. and I'm only partly through the construction of the bridge

"Maybe some sort of small surveillance device like some of the military uses." Odysseus said.

"Or a magical version. or one that is a blending of the 2." Sara said.

"Ow! Jam!" Major Lockie cried as he tried to fire his 105 mm cannon. He gritted his teeth and raked some oncoming ground troops with his 20 mm cannons.

He spotted several MLRS launchers aiming at the Guardian dragons.

Lt. Martin had picked up the seven enemy vehicles on radar long before she came in sight of the bridge. She was now approaching the bridge.

She locked onto all of them and launched the "Firestorm" missile. The large missile streaked through the rainy sky.

As soon as the missile was launched, she jettisoned the harness, letting it fall to earth.

She radioed Spyro, Cynder, Major Lockie, Sara and Tarrax. "Hey, how are things going? I'm about a 100 or so miles away from you,"

Major Lockie was treated to the sight of the large missile streaking through the air at supersonic velocity. Suddenly, the missile released its payload of explosive darts, each striking and destroying the MLRS vehicle.

(Galena)

"You guys see anything down there?" Captain Fairchild asked. While it was not raining in Galena, it was now quite foggy. He possessed equipment that let him see through smoke, rain and fog but it was not as powerful as the equipment that Lt. Martin asked.

The convoy stopped along a deserted road with several hangars, garages and standard houses.

"Well, it looks like we need to do door to door fighting, which I hate," Rime said with a sigh. He was equipped with an armor piercing rifle.

Two soldiers sitting next to him were equipped with light machine guns in case they met any organic targets - like Chong's mages.

A Great Valley archer - equipped with experimental magically hardened arrows intended to pierce metal - stepped out of the APC.

Well, the brisge connecting us to the midddle of the city is out, terrador is rebuilding it, but its a slow process' tarrax replied. " we're going over what to do once its completed.."
_ Volteerr let forth a stream a highly charged lightning orbs which bounced around and when they came in contact with a vehicle, sent a surge of electricity through the vehicle, giving those inside a deadly dose of electric charge..to the tune of 100000 volts.

"Be very careful, no telling what this fog could hide," Rime said.

"Well, let's start clearing this place," Anton replied.

Fog swirled around the group.

"Guys, I think this fog may be magical," Captain Fairchild said. He was not speaking through the radio but with his mouth. "I can't penetrate it with my radar."

"Just great," Rime said bitterly.

"Nick, Nani, come with me," Paul said, readying his rocket launcher. Two other soldiers joined him.

"Strut, Shaggy, you're with me," Anton said. A soldier with a light machine gun and a Great Valley archer equipped with the experimental arrows joined him.

Rime was leading the remaining soldiers.

(Neptune City)

"How'd you get repaired so fast?" Major Lockie asked via radio as he circled around the area looking for targets to attack.

Lt. Martin chuckled. "They found a plane that I had shot down and scavenged some parts from it. In any case, Lt. Martin out."

She then cut the radio transmission.

(Ft. Inglorious)

Haresh returned from his studies of the lightning dragons.

He sat on a chair near Briggins. "Briggins, Setsuna and I have finished our examination of the lightning dragons. They are actually cyborgs. The body is pure mechanical but they are controlled by brains taken from either prisoners or fatally injured but still living soldiers. In the case of prisoners it seems that their memories are erased and basically turned into pilots for these things."

Some Ft. Inglorious volunteers stared at Haresh. The revelation that Chong was using cyborgs to fight was new - and unpleasant one.

So they are are not living beings,but rather artificial creations.. no telling how many prisoners or soldiers Chong has used in this manner..he is truly evil' Briggins sighed " i suspect that Chong wiped the prisoners memory through magic..
we need to get the bridge repairs, our members who can fly are few" stripetail replied..

Terradorcontinued building the brisdge the foundations were finished now he was working on the span. once that was finished the troops could advance..

He then carefully made his way to a large hangar. He stood back with a launch tube snapped onto his launcher. Another soldier nearby carried an assault rifle along with several spare launch tubes.

"Nick, Nani, you knock first; I'll be ready in case you get hostiles," Paul said.

Rime had knocked on the door to a garage and was greeted by a friendly looking living car.

The car actually invited them inside.

Rime warned his troops to be on guard but he entered. He looked around. The garage's floor was rather nice looking tile and a bench with a ramp was nearby.

"So what brings you to Galena?" the car asked.

"We're here to battle Chong," a Vulpine soldier said, resting his rifle on his lap but still keeping it ready.

Anton knocked on a door to a house but got no response.

"Seaboard Coalition! Open up!" he demanded.

Still no response.

He readied his rifle as he kicked the door to the house. The door didn't budge an inch.

"Shaggy, can you go see if there's a battering ram or something in the Mystery Machine?" Paul asked. "We'll let you do the honors. Don't worry, we've got you covered."
