Hearing Genki's voice, both monsters stood up and opened their eyes, although only one of them had actually been sleeping. Tigress had stayed up the entire night, making sure nothing bad would happen to the others while they got the rest they needed. Tigress needed her rest too, but her friends' comfort was a higher priority than her own. Fortunately, she's able to remain awake for days if she needs to.
She had very keen ears, and picked up on Genki's first sounds of starting to stir right away. Before the human was fully conscious though, she had slipped on to the unused bed and assumed a comfortable position, closed her eyes, and made her breathing sound involuntary.
Tigress was well aware that the boys would feel badly knowing that they enjoyed the pleasures of sleep while she had stayed up the whole night to ensure that they got it. Now, she artificially yawned, rubbed her eyes with her paw, then "groggily" got up slowly, and finally stretched herself out for about ten seconds.
Genki in turn yawned again and also gave his eyes a thorough rubbing. "That rest was great! I really needed that. So, did you guys sleep well too?" he asked them.
"There is nothing 'well' about it. Sleep is sleep, and even if there were multiple levels of it, you can't feel your body during then to know if it was different than another time anyway," he said a bit gruffly and finished with a huff. Tiger always tried to be the sense of reason with various issues. If only he would impliment a more positive air when he went about it though...
Tigress responded, "Yes, I slept very well." Now Tigress won't lie to her friends. Luckily, among the books that she had gone through, she had come across a couple English language and grammar books, and had studied them very well. Because Genki had asked the general question of sleeping well without specifying a time frame to limit her answer, she could honestly say "Yes."
She could think of many times that she had slept well, so her answer was completely accurate. Although, if Genki had asked them if they'd slept well "last night," then she would have had a bit more difficulty coming up with a good response.
"That's good," Genki replied. "So, should we look into that thing you sensed last night?" then he immediately covered his mouth.
"Genki!" Tigress exclaimed. But then she relaxed. What was said, was said, and she couldn't undo that. "Besides," she thought to herself, "he is still a child." Then she waited for the loud voice that she knew was coming.
"Huh? What is he talking about Tigress? You noticed something and didn't say anything? No, that isn't true. You told the one of us that can't do a thing about it and deceived the one that could! I'm started to see how I rate in this group. If you'd rather leave me out of things, than fine! Just do whatever you want! This 'group' is holding me back anyway." With that, he headed toward the door, swung it open with his jaws, then stormed out.
"Tiger, please wait! It isn't like that! Where are you going!?" Tigress called out to him desparately.
"I'd rather not include you in my affairs. You don't deserve to know. Sound familiar!?" then he slammed the door closed by rearing up and kicking them with his back legs.
Genki and Tigress quickly tried to go after him, but the door was closed with such force that it had jammed into the frame of the doorway, so it wouldn't budge. Tigress fell to the ground and wept bitterly.
Genki, who felt horribly for having caused the entire scene, said nothing more to keep from possibly making her feel worse, but simply sat beside her and put his arm around her furry neck.
Tigress lunged at him, and Genki feared that she was going to attack him, but instead, she placed one of her paws on each of Genki's shoulders. The side of her head gently leaned against the top of his chest, then Genki fully wrapped his arms around her. In times like this, some girls just need the comfort of being held close.
Finally, Genki said, "I'm so sorry, Tigress."
"Don't be," she told him quietly. "This is all my fault."
