Brooklyn heard an explosion and went over for a look. He found a place to land and used some electronic binocular sorts of things that had built in light intensification, night vision, polarization, infra red, and computer enhancement to get a look from a distance. Once he saw what had happened he used his legion flight ring to communicate with Jason in ancient Egyptian.
Jason felt his ring and awoke to listen to what Brooklyn was saying, a small hologram of Brooklyn appearing above the ring. Brooklyn, for stealth purposes had turned his off ring's hologram receiving so that would not put out the light.
Jason listened then said a few words to Brooklyn. He then went into another room of his bedroom and uncovered what looked like a rectangle that was about a foot high and 10 inches wide and at most a half inch thick and looked to be made of some sort of metal. With extra jewels and other such decoration since it was imperial court made.
He touched it & attempted to use to see if Stripetail was asleep and if not so he could communicate with him & tell him what Brooklyn had told him. It was a magic bit of technology and common on Korodos, among those who could afford such things, as well as government offices and such. He thought this would be faster then searching the whole hotel for Stripetail. He would use the tardis's communications or his cell phone but didn't know if Stripetial had any cellphone or the like on him. He had it scan the area for Stripetail and had a light of the same size and shape would appear so the persons talking could see & hear each other. It was easier to use if the other person also had one. If not then the person using the communications device had to have met the person in order to have it scan for them and communicate with them.
If the person was asleep the light panel would not appear but would tell the person sitting at the device the recipient was asleep. It was also easy to block and do away with the panel in the air. First year magic students were taught how to. Most models were obvious, though some special agents of Korodos had access to some stealth types.
