Insane Cafe 3: The Curse of the Haunted Hotel

After several hours laboring through the night using magic and assorted tools that Briggins had lying around or were acquired from the incoming convoys or scavenged, Haresh and Mr. Bigmouth finished their annealer.

Haresh wiped his forehead as he finished winding the fine copper wire around the last rubies and placed it in its slot. Magic was used to thread the fine wires and connect them to a high voltage transformer scavenged from a neon sign.

Mr. Bigmouth finished up wiring the transformer. "All right, we're done," he said, wiping his hands on a rag.

Haresh then placed a special sheet of paper that would turn from green to red when exposed to magical fields. This would allow them to see how even the field was.

Mr. Bigmouth suddenly remembered something. "Damn it! I need to get a gaseous coolant for the four gems or else they can melt!"

He hastily scribbled "Construction still in progress. DO NOT USE!" on a piece of paper and taped it to the annealer.

Haresh nodded. "We'll finish this up on we get some sleep."

Mr. Bigmouth looked at the clock on the wall - it was 0500 hours (5 AM).

The two then headed off to their rooms to sleep.

Stripetail had gione to bed shortly after Dixie, but awoke shortly before 5 am. He went back up to the library and passed Haresh and MR Bigmouth on the way to their rooms " don't tell me you spent all night working on the device? We're heading back out after breakfast!" he Sighed. As Tarrax cane up to them. "Let me work on the device master, they obviousdly need thier sleep " Tarrax said. " How long have you been up Tarrax ?' Stripetail arched his eyesbrows "A half hour,at most. You know I don't sleep very much master.." Tarrax said.

Mr. Bigmouth said nothing as he entered his room. He radioed Stripetail. "Stripetail, I have arranged for Cpl. McCoun to be my replacement. For today, Haresh and I will be working on logistics."

He then cut the transmission and fell asleep.

"I think that is about all we can do." Sara said looking at what she had done.

"Most of the work will have to be done once this war is over, along with the renovation and such." Jason said looking over what they and he had done.

"We should go eat and rest." Guilmon said.

"That sounds like a good idea." Brooklyn said, "Want to be rested in case the next part of the battle happens soon." he said.

Understood. You need your rest.' stripetail replied as he cut the transmission and headed back downstairs.
_ Spyro and Cynder were the first pair of the team to wake up that morning.. " Time to get up i think' Spyro yawned. "I think we should take the fight to Chong. he sent in those things to blow jup the hotel we should respond in kind. " Are you suggesting we frly over to chongs location, and start blasting away?Cynder began to smile.. "Sounds like a plan.. lets go!"

Von got up in the morning. He had a long night last night, and he wasn't sure what was going to happen today. He started walking around the hotel looking for someone to talk to. He was getting bored, so he wanted to do something.

The Pelvanida group slowly began to stir and wash up as day broke.

Some of the night shift chefs were already preparing hashbrowns, pancakes and salted fish for breakfast.

The night guards were being relieved by the day shift.

Sara awoke, stretching and yawning as she started to get up.

Jason and Guilmon awoke each going to take a quick cleaning shower, in separate showers, before they got ready for the day and headed out of the tardis to see how things had gone over the night and how things were doing and what the plans were for today.

Tigeress stirred from her sleep and headed out of her room.. " she knew that they would be heading back to Cobia Bay today.. and probably further than that. She saw Hunter, Spyro and Cynder on the stairs in front of her " wghere are you guys headed? " We're going after Chong" spyro replied ' They hit our location, we're going to return the favor"
Are you nuts? Chongs hundreds of miles away..' " Well distance didn't stop him from teleporting people in..Cynder replied " we're going Tigeress, and theres nothing you can do to stop us.. We're going on our own.."

Er.. have you talked to stripetail about this?' No, But i think he'll approve.." Spyro replied.. 'We'll see you later Tigeress.. Behave yourself.." the purple dragon smiled and then continued heading down the stairs..

Jason and Guilmon were continuing to walk around to see how things were going and how some folks were doing and any recent news they could find out about things.

The Pelvanida group filed into the dining room. They were wearing their casual clothing (Deimos and Rime were wearing their armored vests).

Dr. Zanasiu grabbed some pancakes.

Deimos looked at Von. "Hey, how'd he get into Fort Inglorious? I thought we left the gate guarded!"

Werner, Hans and Franz had finished eating and headed out to carry a new shipment of food and other supplies to the warehouses.

"Well, I showed the guards this invitation I got form a chap named Nick." He showed the invitation to Deimos.

The he continued. "Um, I don't really want to fight. Is there some work around the fort I could do?"

Deimos examined it. "It's legit," he said, eating some smoked fish.

"Welcome to the team," Zachary said, putting some jam on his toast.

"You can work in the logistics division. You know, repairing the fort and vehicles; treating the wounded; cooking; carrying ammunition; reloading and maintaining weapons; cleaning up the place; moving supplies; making Great Valley weaponry and herbs," Dr. Zanasiu replied.

"Oh yeah, you'll need to under go a briefing about the rules and regulations and all that s---," Deimos replied, drinking some water. "And some brief training and familiarization with firearms and weaponry. Everyone must be ready to help defend this place should the need arise."

Stripetail then enteree the room carrying a number of books he was carrying from the Library " morning, Gentlemnen. I trust your evening went well? He said before noticing Von ." And who is he? He asked his eyes narrowing Slightly. ' is he a new arrival?"

"Well, he says he has an invitation from Nick," Deimos replied, handing over the invitation to Stripetail.

We've already had several attempts by the enemy to destroy this hotel. hence the guards, and the surrounding fortress.. well i'm Lord Stripetail de facto leader of the seaboard coalition. What is your name?
