The Whiptail Lizard was busy orchestrating clean up efforts. Spyro and Cynder's assault had destroyed some of the outlying support structures that were not very well defended.

"Cuprum has been resisting our forces for several days. We are currently trying to develop a weapon that can eliminate the self-healing capabilities of the living vehicles," she said. She then pressed a button on the console, bringing up a holographic map of the region.

About half of the region was red (Chong's forces) and half was blue (Stripetail's forces). A large pocket of grey (neutral) was near the northeast border (several pockets of red were inside that region). Several other grey patches scattered through the region were present.

"As you can see, Commander, we are rapidly conquering the region but Stripetail's forces are reconquering the region almost fast as we can take it. I will tell you that the cities of Dialset and Sunberry are now under our control. I do have some good news; the mayor of Osmiridium - a town of living machines - handed his town to our forces and fled to save his own skin."

(Cobia Bay Airport)

Sylvia was busy helping the staff serve the refugees and staff breakfast.

"You know, we can't discount the fact that Chong or some of his more impulsive minions may try to attack Cobia Bay, Surf Point, Southport or Telson AFB," Strut said as he munched on a pear.

"We have patrols around this camp 24 hours a day," Sylvia said as she made a fresh batch of rice cakes.

"That's not enough," Dr. Zanasiu said, shaking his head. "Chong can teleport his troops anywhere - no matter how well defended it is."

"We learned that these teleportation strike forces can inflict significant damage - even when caught quickly," Zachary added.

Anton and Paul were chatting with the other refugees.

Chong Laughed ' The fool! concerned with his own miserable affairs while his town gets pressed into service. Have you tried using mustard gas in the areas/ I wonder how machines react to toxic fumes? while they don't really "breathe" like other creatures, it must still be a problem for them.. what is the state of our forces/ Are we talking 15 thousand 20 thousand what? and we need to step up our forces..those two young dragons were able to fight off a whole convoy of troops for several hours ..

They are right. while we are working on creating an anti-teleporation field around our most base, Fort Inglorious, it will take time to create a field around here , south port, Surf Point and other places.." stripetail said gesturing and creating a large map of the region, it was a duplicate of Chongs and it showed the red blue and grey areas. " W have done a good job in retaking territory, however, Chong is taking new territory as fast, or faster than, we can retake it. Sunberry has fallen, and there is a large area to the northeast that will be a target..any suggestions as to our next target? Stripetail asked the others.

The Whiptail Lizard shook her head. "The planes fly too high to be affected by chemical weapons and the ground vehicles are likewise immune to chemical weapons.

She then bought up another holographic display scene. "As for our forces, we've lost a good deal of our veteran soldiers but we have plenty of fresh recruits. Our forces are holding steady at about 15-20 thousand troops."

and their forces are still around 5000 tops, but thats has stopped them from giving us hell' Chond said.: use incediaries if you have to..while they may not be affected by mustard gas.. they can be blown up..speaking of which, how re our supplies of explosives holding up..send reinforcements to Cuprum..

"Just the usual items" The Professor said. "...like flasks, burners, various scientific instruments, and uranium" He gave a little meniacle laugh with the last item. "If you don't have any of that stuff here, I'm sure I could call up my delivery company, and have them send some supplies."

Suddenly, the lights flickered and then died. Luckily, there were a good number of windows that were not boarded up that allowed light into the building.

Mr. Bigmouth, Ms. Swimmer, Haresh and Setsuna came down the stairs. Each of them were holding flashlights.

"Briggins, we had a little accident with the anti-teleportation field," Haresh said sheepishly.

Mr. Bigmouth cleared his throat. "It appears we underestimated the power consumption of such a device."

Major Lockie looked at the map. "Commander, I suggest heading to the northern-most shore. That is home to Galena, a large industrial and port city. We must take that before Chong does or he can potentially rule the seas and not to mention acquire large amounts of metals to fuel his army. Also of note is Galena is home to living machines such as myself."

"We also need to take out Chong AFB, which used to be Arkan AFB. Unfortunately, it looks like Chong's forces are heading towards the town of Cuprum," Strut added.

"Most of our weapons are manufactured at Sunberry, Chong AFB and Dialset and production is at a high rate. Weapons are also being manufactured at Pelvanida and shipped to us but thanks to ravaged roads and mines and other bombs, we have delays. Luckily, we have plenty of stored weapons," the Whiptail Lizard said.

A stolen A-10 plane thundered down the runway behind her. Several other attack aircraft and transport took off and headed for Cuprum.

Mikey put on the goggles Jason had given him a while back that let him see in darkness. He usually only wore them with his turtle titan costume but at times like this they were handy also.

"Could I have a pyropshere, for the folks here to see?" Jason said to Guilmon. As he cast a spell.

"Pyrosphere!" Guilmon said shooting a pyrosphere at Jason who caught it in his glowing hand, and moved it so the pyroshere would float above his head putting out light, and also was a weapon he could use at a thought.

"Glad I mastered that cantrip." Jason said. "Gives us all a hands free light source."

so you blew the fuses with your power consumption.. just great.. could you please escort them' briggins pointed to Von and the professor "to the library please.. " and try and fix that device so it doesn't use so much power.. not only do our lights not work, with makes it hard to get around, or do any of the things needed to keep this place running..

The Professor was not pleased. He really wanted his supplies. On the way to the Library, he tried to make a call.

Computer Voice: "57 messages from the Professor, deleted!"

Hermes: "What in Babalon is going on? Why didn't you tell me!"

Bender: "Aah, he's probably just calling for some bowel medicine.

Computer Voice: "Incoming call from the Professor!"

Bender: "I know what to do with that! Del-"

Hermes: "Can it, you big can! Give me that!" He sticks his hand in Benders compartment, and pulls out a phone. "Hello?"

Professor: "I need scientific supplies, stat!"

Hermes: "Bender is on it!" He hangs up the phone.

Bender: "Huh?"

Hermes: "You heard me!"

"Follow me," Ms. Swimmer said, heading up the stairs.

"Briggins, where is the fuse box?" Mr. Bigmouth asked.

"I will request a generator specifically for this shield projector," Haresh said as he opened the front door and headed to the storage buildings.

Suddenly, the radio on Sylvia's shirt beeped. "Warning! Unknown planes are approaching Cobia Bay."

Several antiaircraft missile launchers were set up around the refugee camp. They locked onto the aircraft and awaited authorization to fire.

When the planes refused to identify themselves, the missiles soared into the sky.

The missiles would take some time to actually down the aircraft as these were long-range missiles intended to attack aircraft from as far as 100 miles away.

The paint on Lt. Martin (and the other living aircraft) was now fully dry.

Lt. Martin thundered down the runway and took to the skies to engage the enemy aircraft.

Mr. Bigmouth made his way to the aforementioned closet. It was locked but thankfully, the key he had acquired months ago opened it.

He held the flashlight in one hand and found that the library fuse and somehow, the main fuse (which was as thick as his finger) were blown. He cut the power, grabbed the blown out fuses, pulled them free. tossed them into the nearby "salvage bucket" (which was full of old copper wiring and other assorted metal bits). He figured that out that Haresh might be able to to something with useful with them and.

Once he replaced both fuses, he turned the power back on. The lights in the building flickered and became steadily brighter as the power was restored.

He closed the closet door and locked it.

"Power's back!" he said, leaning over the railing.

He then headed back to the library to fix the anti-teleportation field generator.

- the hotel quickly returned to its normal busy pace once the lights turned back on..bulk skull and bg were busy with tidying up the libraries on the 7th floor

Lt. Martin lit her afterburners as she sped towards Tarrax and the others.

One of the missiles launched by the ground defenses caught an airplane unaware and blew its wing off. The other missiles were defeated by electronic countermeasures or just missed.

Interestingly enough, these planes were alive like Lt. Martin, Captain Fairchild and the others. Only there was one odd thing; their eyes seemed to have a luminescent glow around them.

One of the planes in the rear of the formation fired a missile at Tarrax. Suddenly, the missile split into three high explosive darts that sped straight towards him.

Two radar guided missiles streaked towards the plane, blowing off its "face" and tail. The mortally damaged plane plummeted to earth.

"Guess I got here just in time," Lt. Martin said, as she dodged a burst of autocannon fire.

tarrax let forth a blast of fire which burned through the darts. his fire breath was hot enough to melt any manmade weapon.. but it didn't protect him from the aftershock of the darts bloewing up.. ' hjjust keep groing he said to the others..
sopyro used his fury on another plane. the fury sliced off a portion of the top of the plane, revealing the empty space inbetween ' what are these things/ spyro said ' He and cynder had missed meeting the living planes, so they were facing these things for the first time..

Sara used her dragon fire to deal with the enemy missiles, rockets and planes as best as she could, swerving and dodging, with a spell here or there when she could to help also.
